Indian

Rasai is an Indian word that means Entrance, Opening & Passage! Rasai Indian Restaurant is an opening for a new Seattle Indian experience – a progressive, modern, fresh, fun, and delicious take on all the regions of Indian flavors, dishes, and traditions. Our menu and food bring to Seattle the diversity of India and Indian cuisine using a fresh, progressive & modern take that is meant to delight, to make happy, and to be warm and inviting, not pretentious and stilted. To make this all happen, Executive Chef, Gaurav Raj is hitting the mark by giving Indian food a new identity and meaning in the world of Haute cuisine. The space itself is cozy and intimate with burnt tempered wood and a blackened steel finish. The outside wooden patio is fully covered and heated.

They started out amazing. I have gone back three times and each time, the execution and quality has gone down. They have also been taking dishes off their currently menu. Excuse was, “we are changing our menu soon.” Frankly except for the first time, they have been saying that. Jackfruit buns were rock hard. The flavors of everything is not as refined as it’s been. So, at this point, for the price point I don’t think it’s worth the money. Still pretty unique and interesting flavors.

We have chosen this restaurant for our Anniversary as we really like Indian and vegetarian food. The place was so good, the food and the cocktails were delicious. They brought us a dessert that we ordered with the happy anniversary on the top and that was just lovely. We want to thank you for such a nice experience. Quality of food and the attention of the waitress was 5/5 stars, Congratulations to that amazing staff who makes us feel so good in our special occasion.

The ambiance of the restaurant is very pleasant and leads one to expect a level of sophistication. The presentation of the dishes was attractive but we found the food to be undistinguished. The cauliflower was the best tasting dish but the jackfruit bao was bland in a white dough with no taste at all and a pasty texture. The eggplant in coconut sauce replaced the stuffed chiles. It was also very bland with no hint of coconut flavor in the sauce. We ordered a side of 3 Naans with chutneys. The naans were tasteless and doughy/chewy, unlike at most Indian restaurants where they have a great flavor and texture. The chutneys were very small portions and more like dipping sauces than chutney. I'm not sure what Progressive is supposed to mean but they seem to have taken the spice out of the food.

Was a little disappointed in the many items that were not available on the menu. The drink I wanted, the appetizer i wanted and one of the main courses I wanted were all sold out or not available at all when we had our reservation at 7pm. Not a great first impression of the restaurant. With that being said the food was great for the items we could order.

Some dishes were excellent such as bread sampler, Panner and Chicken Kebab. But some were very average such as the anjeer kofta (too sweet) and Dahi Pura (no flavor, no chutney?. Desert was OK. Drinks were too sweet. Service started off good but then tool an hr to get desert and our bill. Overall go there once but probably won't repeat.

Went in for Mother's Day brunch. Hardly anything for Veg options. Way too slow service (it took 30+ min just to get a basic appetizer). Found absolutely nothing special for the price they quote. I would have rather gone to other nearby cafe like Lassi and Spice and gotten value for my money.

Creative vision; mediocre execution. The ambience is nice - without looking too hard, but the glasses were coated in a thick layer of cotton fluff and dust, the lavatory feels like one you might find in an especially nice gas station. Dinner had the same vibe - the menu was creative, but the reality somehow turned out a little flat. Each dish was very one note instead of the depth of flavor that we were anticipating from such cool, innovative descriptions. The highlight of the dinner was pineapple chutney - which was admittedly totally perfect.

Went here to celebrate a new job. Really good food and drinks. More upscale than a regular dinner. Family friendly, saw several tables with kids. The portions are really good too. You could share plates or get individual plates. We got two appetizers and two main dish and one dessert to split. We ate everything and now feel sick from over eating.

Good experience overall Some of the food items were great and some were so-so Anjeer kofta was absolutely delicious The bread basket was inconsistent. - needs a lighter option and laccha parantha was hard and not hot The tandoori prawns were just warm and dry — also 4 pieces hardly and appetizer portion . The dessert was nice too

The food was very creative and the flavors were surprising (in a delicious way). Four of us shared dishes and we enjoyed every dish including the Kofta, paneer and cactus, ghee roasted cauliflower, tandoori salmon with coconut/lime sauce, tandoori chicken kabob, and the jackfruit bao. It was quite loud in the small dining area and we had some difficulty chatting due to the noise level.
