   5 star dining. Great service. Was given champagne for our anniversary. Amazing.

   Got off to a poor start with a maitre’d who failed to greet us while he giggled and simpered on a personal phone call. When he finally did end the call, he proceeded to direct us to an upstairs table. I have mobility issues and explained that I couldn’t use the steep almost rail-less stairs and asked for alternative seating. He looked around stumped and explained that the lower section wasn’t open yet. He just stood there until I asked about an elevator. He then directed us to the back of the restaurant and around the corner. When we were finally seated, things changed dramatically! The wait and support staff were attentive but not intrusive. They made excellent recommendations and anticipated our every need. The food was very good but skip the American Wagyu upgrade. Do get the chocolate martini and the pot du crème. A nice selection of family style sides, more than enough to serve two people generously. A fantastic save after a rocky start. Oh, the dress code sounds a little picky but the atmosphere was relaxed and elegant.

   We came at the end of the night right before the kitchen closed. They seated us quickly and the service was great. It wasn’t a lot of people in there so it was rather quiet. The food and drinks were great too!

   We visited for our anniversary and the food was fantastic! Steaks were cooked to perfection. So great that my girlfriend cleaned her plate and we left with no leftovers. The ambiance was nice and allowed for easy conversation, we will be back!

   Great night at Rare. Incredible service and ambience, no need was overlooked. We had large group and service was amazing.

   Well this was our first time here. The restaurant is listed as #2 Steakhouse in DC but I don’t agree. Morton’s or Jerry’s is better. The front desk personnel however were extremely professional and kind. I appreciated their courtesy because I felt welcomed. The problem started with our waiter. He spent a lot of time constantly telling us about the prices like he felt we couldn’t afford it or something. I didn’t hear him tell any of the other tables what the prices were. It was insulting. Our food was pretty good except for the broccolini which was Extremely salty and had a burnt after taste. The salmon and pork chop was good even though I wanted a steak but the waiter described the cut I was thinking of ordering to not be the best so I left it alone. They also didn’t even have a lobster tail as an accompaniment. The parking garage was the worst. We had to go way down and there was no elevator to get up to the restaurant. So if you have a back injury it’s not the place to go because there is no Valet parking either as an option. I don’t think we will go back. Disappointing after driving 75 minutes to get there.

   Our food and service at Rare Steakhouse were both outstanding! The steaks and the seafood platter were delicious! Our servers were helpful and friendly. We will be back!

   My husband and I love Rare! Their dry aged tomahawk is perfect and our favorite steak we’ve had in the world.
