   Had a beautiful dinner, some of the best cocktails ever and great service all around. A special Shout out to Ruby, while all the staff we interacted with were great Ruby was amazing and very personable to chat with! Would definitely recommend coming for dinner!

   Usually one of our favourite Restaurants in Mackay. However we were very disappointed on this occasion.

   Poor service / wouldn’t listen and English not good. Fish was raw with no skin, (supposed to be crispy skinned Barra) and salad wasn’t eatable, huge chunks of raw beetroot. Ordered 400g steak and wouldn’t have been 200g, was nice, but not worth $. Potatoes were raw in middle and soggy / greasy. Very over priced for pretty poor quality, might have been an off night. Better off at Austral for a steak dinner.

   We had our table booked for 7, arrived on time. Took our seats. After 35 mins I went to the bar to ask for some service, we hadn’t even been offered table water! Again we waited until the floor staff worked out who was looking after us. Our waiter took our order, we ordered food and drinks plus asked for table water. Again we waited, another waiter brought us our drinks, again we asked for table water, this time we had success. When our waiter returned with our table water, we were informed our waiter took time for food will be longer than usual which we thought was odd as most people were already eating dinner and people were starting to leave. We finished our drinks but it was as if we were invisible to the wait staff, we tried making eye contact so we could order another couple of drinks but the staff just cleared tables and virtually ignored us. There was a table of young ladies with it seemed the same dilemma as us, they reverted to standing up and waving at staff to try to gain their attention. This seemed to work for them so possibly this is the technique required here to get service? So now it’s 8:30 and we hailed a waiter and ordered our second drink, I also asked how much longer it would be until we until we would get our meals as we had been waiting a considerable period without any fuss. 8:45 we received our meals which were delicious! The kitchen nailed the food, that was a relief!! So my partner hadn’t even finished her meal and a waiter approached her and asked if we wanted dessert, all I could think is I wanted to be home before midnight so we said no thank You. I always thought it was waiting on tables, not tables waiting but hey, I think I am wrong on this occasion. We finished our meal and went to pay and I even asked staff if what we had experienced tonight was the norm and she assured us it wasn’t, I’m not 100% convinced but hey, this is what I was told. I know it says to keep it short but if it was short but this was our experience.

   RARE in Mackay RARE in Melbourne 5 ***** Slow service, staff friendly, cold vegetables, average meat and scallops. For price for two, average. Tasty wagyu skewers and scallops were a bit tasteless. Great range of cocktails, limited wines from WA.

    They were clearly Busy. But waited over 10 mins initially to be seated. Headed more staff at front to take guests to tables while someone else fixed up bills. We waited over 30 mins to be asked if we would like a drink. Food took an hour and a half to arrive. Food was ok. Second drink we waited ages to be asked. Staff were nice just too busy I think. We felt like we were forgotten. Food was ok but over priced Nice atmosphere. We thought it would be a better experience tbh
