The foods were great. The service was good & genuine. The oyster were shucked well. However, most of the 24 clams we ordered were poorly handled, there were lots of shells on most of them @ varying degrees of shells. It didn’t negatively affect our meal, just expecting our clams were handled with much more care for an Oyster bar.
The restaurant was quiet, design was chic. The menu didn’t have much options. The oysters were great, but it was $3.5 each which would be $21 for six. I wanted to try the chowder, but was told that it only came with the lobster grilled cheese special that I didn’t want to try. The service was odd. The server was attentive but a little awkward. The manager looked at me and didn’t smile. Overall, I didn’t feel comfortable with the dining experience.
Great service, food. Staff was very accommodating
It was great. Oysters were delicious; Stephanie our server was awesome and it was overall a really terrific experience.
Beautiful restaurant great brunch. Could use a few more red wines by the glass selection. We will be back.
Rapphannock The Row DTLA was a delight! The service was lovely and informative, the ambiance was very New York and the 4 varieties of oysters that evening were distinct and tasted of all the flavors of the ocean/sea. The Rapp Burger/Happy Hour offering was surprisingly delicious; the lobster roll with the truffle mayo and caviar was over-the-top in a grand way; the crispy Brussel sprouts were well-seasoned, and the burrata/beet salad was huge, enough to share for 4 people, not just us 2! Congratulations to this little find and wishing Rappahannock Oyster Bar all the best!
Came here for oysters - since it was the Sunday after Valentine’s Day they were out of most items on the menu including all lobster, their Rappahannock oysters, crispy oysters, shrimp, etc. we ordered the 2 types of oysters they did have left but there was no way to tell which was which once they arrived and we were unable to flag anyone down to point them out before eating them- after which we were pretty sure we only got one kind. Also ordered the crispy fingerlings which were not crispy- the remoulade served with them was the best part of the whole meal. Smoked trout deviled eggs were short on filling and each topped with 5 salmon roe which did nothing for the flavor and all in all were quite underwhelming. Would maybe try again if the full menu was available but not in any hurry to go back.
Great Brunch! Food was amazing. Oysters, lobster benedict and shrimp with grits. Fun ambiance sitting outside. Service was outstanding.
The Valentine's Day specials they had were amazing to say in the least. Exceptional service and amazing flavors going on here. Couldn't recommend enough!
THE SERVICE: To be fair, we went on Valentine's Day, which is one of the most impacted nights of the year for the food service industry. Knowing that, however, it was evident that they were not ready for that. We showed up 5 minutes early for our reservation and were fine with the idea of waiting about 10-20 mins. After 20-30 mins, we checked back in. Still nothing. Long story short, they complete forgot to call us and when we checked in again after an hour, the hostess had to run to the back to make sure the kitchen wasn't closed yet. We finally got seated only to find out several items on the menu were no longer available. Of course. I would say the hostesses were total amateurs, the waiter was good, the bus boy was actually amazing.
THE FOOD: We ordered 4 different oysters, only liked 1. The Endive & Persimmon Salad was good but needed more endive and less frisee. The Seared Scallop Special was good but couldn't help but feel it needed one more scallop and a lot less pea shoots, which are not easy to eat gracefully when you're on a date. But the RAPP Burger - delicious! And the fingerling potatoes are the best I've ever had. We didn't end up getting dessert because the only thing they had left was choc covered strawberries (meh). The bill was fair considering how much we ordered. We'd be willing to try them again, just not on a busy night.
I had a reservation. We waited over 30 mins to be seated. I had requested an outside table but they seated us inside at a booth. Wasn’t impressed. The people were nice though.
Ate here on Valentine's Day. Service was great despite volume of guests and good coming out of the kitchen.
Delicious and fresh. Oysters were perfect and Hamachi was my favorite. Shisito peppers and Shrimp and grits were delicious. The scallion biscuits with kimchee butter a must.
We arrived at Union station on the train and had never been at this restaurant. Our driver entered the address, but we still spent a good 10 minutes trying to actually FIND it. Directions need to be provided in more specificity!
My gf and I ventured downtown to try. We started by ordering a half dozen of all different kinds of oysters and a martini. The oysters were great, the martini not so much. They bartender probably doesn't make a lot of martini's and it showed. We then ordered the hamachi and smoked trout deviled eggs. The hamachi was good, they cover up the fish with way too much oil and vinegar (not the usual ponzu sauce), but still good. The deviled eggs were great. We had the special- fish tacos and they were very tasty. We also had the grilled octopus, which could be an outstanding dish, but the octopus was a day or two past it's peak freshness. The service and the place itself is not all that warm. Our server was fine, but not all that warm and friendly. The restaurant itself temperature was a bit cold as well. This place is def a solid 3, but not sure I would recommend a seafood place that is a solid 3 stars. It's not bad, it's good, but not great for sure.
I loved the location. Who knew? The food overall was very good, however, did not like the oysters. Too salty and gritty.
Excellent unobtrusive service with excellent food. Had the ceviche with some oysters and of course lobster roll. Excellent as was the skirt steak sandwich. A must visit with validated parking.
The food was wonderful, our waiter seemed pretty distracted and forgot a few items we ordered but the place is lovely and would return
Amazing food, and the location was really cool. I will definitely return.
Freshest oysters I have ever had, great food not to heavy , it was suporbowl Sunday when we first went in there was some obnoxious people at the bar but that only last 10 minutes and than they left, all the employees were working hard and on point, really great experience will go back for sure
The Row is still fairly dead as a shopping area except for when smorgasburg is going on, but this little restaurant is quite a good reason to go there. The oysters are priced well and taste excellent. The dishes lean on the southeast Asian and Latin side of food. Think spicy and sour. Good food all around. Would go again.
Food was amazing and ambience was perfect.
I have been several times but this time was disappointing. They were understaffed so although our wait person was friendly and knowledgeable, he barely had time to revisit our table to check on us. The normally delicious fingerling potatoes were cold, the eggplant is not accurately described on the menu and is basically a bunch of greens with undercooked and under seasoned eggplant at the bottom and the deviled eggs filling was gooey and tasted processed. The oysters were delicious but I wanted more taste from the other items as well.
Their oysters were really sweet and fresh. Just amazing.
Oyster chowder was so amazing as well. Overall, awesome quality food.
I went with a some coworkers for their dineLA lunch. Everything was great. They had outdoor seating which is a plus because one of my coworkers had her dog with her. The service was great and the food was delicious. I would come here again.
Amazing experience with delicious food. I highly recommend checking this place out!
Their Happy Hour is great and offers a good array of food, and you have to love $1.50 oysters thank you !
Great raw bar with regionally specific oysters which is a cool idea. Nice spot easy parking. Meal was great. We had cobbler for desert and it missed the mark. If your gonna have 3 deserts on the menu they should all be good. And if your gonna do a simple cobbler there’s no reason not to kill it. We sent the first back as it was undercooked. We ate the other one that came out but it was also undercooked. Stick with the raw bar fair.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Great oysters and great vibe! Love ROW DTLA and hope everyone takes the time to visit!
Wonderfully surprised. This place was open on NY day in the same area as Smorgasborg DTLA is held and they were the only ones open in the area but still pretty busy. The food was delicious and highly recommend the Salmon and Lobster roll. Salmon had skin on crispy on a fried green tomato (tasty for a person who doesn't like tomatoes) served with frisee salad. It was filling. Price was decent. There's a bar in same room small inside but ample seating on patio. Definitely coming back. There's boutiques all around to shop during normal business hours all enclosed/gated from the streets;safe but alot of parking all around inside complex.
