Rappahannock Oyster Bar @ ROW DTLA
Oysters were delicious. Glad I found this place. Great service too.
The server wasn't too friendly or kind. When we asked questions about food he was condescending. When they didn't have the type of alcohol we wanted he didn't offer moremoptions and when he did we didn't know we would be paying for an expensive drink. However, we enjoyed the happy hour, the food and the fact that the hostess was able to accommodate the change in our reservation. Initially we had another server for a brief moment but he was very nice.
Food was great. We felt safe eating outdoors. Staff were great and responsibly using masks. Only down side eating at night were the mosquitos feasting on us.
love it! My friends and I loved it plus happy hour! Great service
Terrible service. The staff was not friendly. We waited over an hour and a half for our food. We finished our cocktails before the food got there—that’s how long it took. Every time we needed something, the staff ignored us. They were not understaffed because so many people were just standing around. We usually had to ask twice before we could get anything we asked for. We ate the first half of our meal without utensils or napkins because no one would bring it out to us. The fried chicken sandwich was so bland—literally just a sad soggy bun, bland chicken, a pile of lettuce, and some red onions thrown in there. The chicken was also most likely raw—it was pink in the middle. Oysters were ok—nothing amazing. No one cleared our finished plates throughout the meal so we’re just eating around piles of dirty plates. We were so over the experience by the end of it and just wanted to get out but of course it takes another 30 minutes to get the check.
Happy hour prices are great. We enjoyed both types of oysters; we got a dozen each. I was able to change my reservation several times easily the day of and we were quickly seated. The outdoor seating is cute, well-spaced and feels very safe. Service was very friendly and attentive as well.
Great service and great food! My daughter who is 2 needed to go to the bathroom and they escorted us to the bathroom! They didn't want us to get lost knowing how badly my daughter had to go to the restroom. Whew! Thanks for the exceptional service!
We did patio dining during COVID-19. It was a very cool October night and the patio did not have heaters. The oysters- the name sake of the restaurant-were either old or bad or both. I had to send my salad back because the avocado was brown and bruised. The wait staff was excellent and accommodating. The setting is lovely at night. I would recommend the burger and fries.
We went for happy hour. The oysters on the half shell were yummy, and the other food items were also excellent. The happy hour drinks were tiny though. Very nice outdoor environment in a large complex of stores.
The food was fresh and exquisite and the service was excellent
I was craving oysters and saw great reviews. The outdoor patio area was lovely and relaxing. The food was very good but a bit slow to come out. Because the atmosphere was so nice, I didn’t mind too much. The tables were spread apart nicely. At $3 per oyster and $21 for a lobster roll it was pricey.
Friendly wait staff
Clean and Covid safe
I took my partner here for his birthday dinner. We were very close to closing time but our waiter was PHENOMENAL! Not only did he allow us to order more cocktails and oysters so close to closing he was so polite, hospitable, and certainly knew how to take care of customers. He really didn’t have to go out of his way, but he was truly amazing and made our first time experience here memorable. Will definitely recommend, the oysters were fresh, and the chicken sandwich was sooo good! When I’m back in LA Will certainly come back here!
First time there and the food, service and ambience was amazing.
Best gourmet burger in LA. Great staff. Happy Hour recommended!
Great! Clean fast and professional. Great secluded location and good happy hour.
Great food, service and happy hour.
No oysters at 730p
Great space and delicious seafood — good happy hour too!
Great Food & Service even on an extremely busy Friday evening amid COVID. I’d recommend the crispy oysters they were delightfully delicious.
Oysters and lobster roll were delicious!
The foods were great. The service was good & genuine. The oyster were shucked well. However, most of the 24 clams we ordered were poorly handled, there were lots of shells on most of them @ varying degrees of shells. It didn’t negatively affect our meal, just expecting our clams were handled with much more care for an Oyster bar.
The restaurant was quiet, design was chic. The menu didn’t have much options. The oysters were great, but it was $3.5 each which would be $21 for six. I wanted to try the chowder, but was told that it only came with the lobster grilled cheese special that I didn’t want to try. The service was odd. The server was attentive but a little awkward. The manager looked at me and didn’t smile. Overall, I didn’t feel comfortable with the dining experience.
Great service, food. Staff was very accommodating
It was great. Oysters were delicious; Stephanie our server was awesome and it was overall a really terrific experience.
Beautiful restaurant great brunch. Could use a few more red wines by the glass selection. We will be back.
Rapphannock The Row DTLA was a delight! The service was lovely and informative, the ambiance was very New York and the 4 varieties of oysters that evening were distinct and tasted of all the flavors of the ocean/sea. The Rapp Burger/Happy Hour offering was surprisingly delicious; the lobster roll with the truffle mayo and caviar was over-the-top in a grand way; the crispy Brussel sprouts were well-seasoned, and the burrata/beet salad was huge, enough to share for 4 people, not just us 2! Congratulations to this little find and wishing Rappahannock Oyster Bar all the best!
Came here for oysters - since it was the Sunday after Valentine’s Day they were out of most items on the menu including all lobster, their Rappahannock oysters, crispy oysters, shrimp, etc. we ordered the 2 types of oysters they did have left but there was no way to tell which was which once they arrived and we were unable to flag anyone down to point them out before eating them- after which we were pretty sure we only got one kind. Also ordered the crispy fingerlings which were not crispy- the remoulade served with them was the best part of the whole meal. Smoked trout deviled eggs were short on filling and each topped with 5 salmon roe which did nothing for the flavor and all in all were quite underwhelming. Would maybe try again if the full menu was available but not in any hurry to go back.
Great Brunch! Food was amazing. Oysters, lobster benedict and shrimp with grits. Fun ambiance sitting outside. Service was outstanding.
The Valentine's Day specials they had were amazing to say in the least. Exceptional service and amazing flavors going on here. Couldn't recommend enough!
THE SERVICE: To be fair, we went on Valentine's Day, which is one of the most impacted nights of the year for the food service industry. Knowing that, however, it was evident that they were not ready for that. We showed up 5 minutes early for our reservation and were fine with the idea of waiting about 10-20 mins. After 20-30 mins, we checked back in. Still nothing. Long story short, they complete forgot to call us and when we checked in again after an hour, the hostess had to run to the back to make sure the kitchen wasn't closed yet. We finally got seated only to find out several items on the menu were no longer available. Of course. I would say the hostesses were total amateurs, the waiter was good, the bus boy was actually amazing.
THE FOOD: We ordered 4 different oysters, only liked 1. The Endive & Persimmon Salad was good but needed more endive and less frisee. The Seared Scallop Special was good but couldn't help but feel it needed one more scallop and a lot less pea shoots, which are not easy to eat gracefully when you're on a date. But the RAPP Burger - delicious! And the fingerling potatoes are the best I've ever had. We didn't end up getting dessert because the only thing they had left was choc covered strawberries (meh). The bill was fair considering how much we ordered. We'd be willing to try them again, just not on a busy night.
I had a reservation. We waited over 30 mins to be seated. I had requested an outside table but they seated us inside at a booth. Wasn’t impressed. The people were nice though.
Ate here on Valentine's Day. Service was great despite volume of guests and good coming out of the kitchen.
Delicious and fresh. Oysters were perfect and Hamachi was my favorite. Shisito peppers and Shrimp and grits were delicious. The scallion biscuits with kimchee butter a must.
We arrived at Union station on the train and had never been at this restaurant. Our driver entered the address, but we still spent a good 10 minutes trying to actually FIND it. Directions need to be provided in more specificity!
My gf and I ventured downtown to try. We started by ordering a half dozen of all different kinds of oysters and a martini. The oysters were great, the martini not so much. They bartender probably doesn't make a lot of martini's and it showed. We then ordered the hamachi and smoked trout deviled eggs. The hamachi was good, they cover up the fish with way too much oil and vinegar (not the usual ponzu sauce), but still good. The deviled eggs were great. We had the special- fish tacos and they were very tasty. We also had the grilled octopus, which could be an outstanding dish, but the octopus was a day or two past it's peak freshness. The service and the place itself is not all that warm. Our server was fine, but not all that warm and friendly. The restaurant itself temperature was a bit cold as well. This place is def a solid 3, but not sure I would recommend a seafood place that is a solid 3 stars. It's not bad, it's good, but not great for sure.
I loved the location. Who knew? The food overall was very good, however, did not like the oysters. Too salty and gritty.
Excellent unobtrusive service with excellent food. Had the ceviche with some oysters and of course lobster roll. Excellent as was the skirt steak sandwich. A must visit with validated parking.
The food was wonderful, our waiter seemed pretty distracted and forgot a few items we ordered but the place is lovely and would return
