Ate outside on the Nicollet Mall - since I made an advance reservation and it was early 515p I was disappointed they gave me a small table on the outside edge of the patio area. This caused us to be super aware of our computer bags and purses. People that didn't have a reservation had better tables. The waiter was nice and checked in enough. Food was good - had fish n chips and a happy hour special margarita which was tasty. Although the waiter took my drink before I was done and I didn't see him do it. Overall, I would go there again to sit outside.
Note: Restroom was clean and adequate.
Randle's has great food. I have tried the carne asada tacos and have also had the shrimp pad thai. A friend tried the spicy mac n cheese. It was very good. Yes, the food is good.
The service was atrocious. We sat down and waited 10+ minutes for someone to even come to the table. He never greeted us and barely even talked. It took forever to get waters of all things and then he said he would get a wine chiller which never arrived. We ordered items off the menu and they came out completely different. I would not suggest this place unless you want to be disrespected and have terrible service.
The food is good, you just don't get very much for the money you spend. I'm not a big eater but I still left a little hungry despite finishing my meal.
The pot stickers were very good. We ordered them and our entrees at the same time. All items arrived at the same time. Entrees were carne asada tacos and Mongolian beef. The carne asada was overcooked and very chewy. The Mongolian beef was tasty but needed a little more spice.
We sat inside on the main floor and found the music to be very loud making it hard for conversation.
Our waiter, Evan, found us to be non existent and for the most part left us to fend for ourselves. He was not very attentive because he was busy outside.
I usually leave a 20% or higher tip but tonight was only 15%. I would have felt better leaving less but I know the business after been in it for over twenty years.
Server was nice but not great. She didn't know that answer to any of the questions we had about food, specials, etc. She never came back to our table to ask about refilling drinks, etc. The bathroom was not clean and had a note on it because it was broken. Food was ok but nothing to write home about.
We had a very new waiter (first shift on the job) and he really didn't have a good handle on the food or drinks. Maybe management's fault with lack of training, not his, but made for a frustrating experience as he kept coming back to us with things which were no longer on the menu or drinks list. Although the place was not too crowded, we had to flag another waiter down to have our waiter bring the check and the check was incorrect when he finally brought it to us. He did correct it, but we never got the feeling we were well taken care of during our dinner. Food was marginal at best...the kung pao was dry and needed a lot more sauce and less rice, the flatbread was soggy and not very crisp. On the bright side, the cream cheese wontons were pretty good. There are too many good restaurants in this area to choose Randle's to dine again.
Food was good and service congenial. We would return to try some other menu items.
Chaotic path to the upstairs table. No one to check in the reservation, self seating, slow bar service, dry food. Really felt like the place wS a shadow of what it could have been. Plastic service ware and glassware felt cheap. Nothing special to go back for
The ambience is terrible! This could be an incredible modern sports bar but it’s as bland as it possibly could be! I had to return my martini twice and switch to a glass of wine because they just couldn’t get it right! The food was mediocre at best! Very disappointing! there was hardly anybody in the place and yet the service was so slow! This is a wonderful location and could be a destination modern sports bar if they have the right management in there at this point I would think the doors will close any day !
It was pretty good. The food was great but the wait staff was run ragged. Barely saw our waiter and had to chase him down for the tab. Sushi was a ok but not great and the special request my guest made was forgotten (mayo on the side and add onions to burger, nothing too crazy) Everyone was friendly and polite but too busy to give great service.
This was my first visit to Randles’s and I will definitely be going back. We were greeted warmly and the service was excellent. Our waiter Alex was extremely attentive to our needs and checked back frequently to see if we needed anything. The food was excellent and unique. We had the meatloaf and tacos. Next time I will try the fish and fries. The noise level was such that you could converse easily however this could change with a larger crowd so I do not know if this is the case at all times. I would recommend Randle’s to anyone.
Sushi was very good. I will comeback for sushi. Other food were little bit pricy and too simple.
Good for watching sporting events! Great food is a bonus
The staff was friendly and efficient .We will definitely go back.
Thank you for a great place to watch the Kansas University game before an event we were attending at the Minnesota Orchestra. Outstanding service and very good food. Would definitely recommend.
It was for my birthday and it was during the week, which was very quiet. The cocktails are great! Overall the food was great. The only complaint I would have is for being a sport's bar they didn't have gluten free hamburger buns and my son can't have gluten. Other than that it was great!
We were celebrating a birthday, when I emailed them, they werent sure if they offered anything for birthdays??? weird.. We arrived right before 6 hoping for happy hour, the hostess sat us immediately so we could order apps. I Wish I would have got her name, she was so sweet, helpful and friendly. We got the tuna roll, jerk wings, buffalo wings, fries and chips and salsa. Probably could have passed on the salsa. Everyone had a variety of meals and were good for the most part. The coleslaw was horrible- kale or something. Service was a little slow but friendly. Pet peeve the dishes werent cleared as more food and drinks came. We were offered a birthday dessert and then it was charged to my bill. They promptly took it off. Glad we tried it. but wouldnt go out of our way to go back.
Terrible food and menu. I did not like anything about this place
Overall our experience wasn't the best. I ordered my burger medium, but it came out well done. My wife ordered chicken pad Thai, but she was given shrimp pad Thai You could tell that the server was having a hectic night, so service was a bit slow and awkward. I would recommend other places downtown over Randle's.
Awesome value great meal we will definitely return. Jeremy our waiter was fantastic.
No one answers the phone or responds to emails. Very frustrating for asking questions. Our server was busy but took time to help with the menu. All of her suggestions were excellent. The decor was very nice and the food was good. We liked our experience but their guest services was non-existant
I had never been there but was interested in a new dinner venue. Great apps, wine, and server! I would definitely go back again and try other dinner options. The cheesecake was to die for!
My first time. Deep fried cheese curds were forgotten and brought out late. Food was average. Nice location. It's February so I'll come again when we can go up on the roof.
Came to grab a burger and watch the Olympics. It was perfect.
We wanted to try a new place for my bday. Nothing special. Disappointed to be seated at a small hightop. Had to sit on my coat on stool and balance my purse strap over knee. Had to ask for a glass for my beer twice. 4th person in party arrived a couple minutes after happy hour and missed out. Food was okay- smaller portions for price we paid. Nothing offered for bday other than a nonplus greeting. Was a bit disappointed overall. It would have been better if we had a table with chairbacks but we weren't given a choice.
My second visit and I was very pleased with service and food
First Saturday of Super Bowl Live experience. 8pm reservation for four; out of first tap beer selected, out of makings for one cocktail selected. My wife ordered a bottle of wine after trying a glass; was informed that her selection didn't come by the bottle although it was listed as such on the menu. Our table had two orders of Pad Thai Noodles, one with shrimp and one without. They were completely different (aside from the shrimp of course), and one order had no egg whatsoever. My meatloaf was burned to a crisp on the bottom.
I realize this was a busy day, but they were woefully unprepared. Whoever orders liquor should be sacked. Idea: contact Houston restaurants to get an idea of how much more liquor to order for Super Bowl week. We were super excited to try this restaurant, and super disappointed with our experience.
They did a great job as the restaurant was very busy when we arrived -considering we went during superbowl live. The food was great with just a little wait for cocktails from the bar. Eight people in our party and everyone thought the food was great!
Food was fabulous and environment was energetic and fun! We are going back next weekend to see the ice bar on the roof!
Somewhat chaotic. Not enough wait staff. One urinal no enough for a large restaurant. Delivered incorrect drink.
Was disappointed our server assured me the taco shells were soft corn as I need to avoid wheat/gluten. But they were wheat. Took too long to change my selection so my meal was cut short and had to do take out.
We planned to eat here before the playoff Vikings game. We had a 12:30 reservation and were told we could hang out upstairs where there was more space and TVs while we waited. They don’t have a buzzer or way to call you though when a table is ready. After checking back a couple times, we were told we likely wouldn’t get a table but we could order appetizers from the bar. Since we had found an open table upstairs we made the best of the situation and ordered appetizers. The appetizers did get delivered to our table even though there wasn’t official waitstaff working upstairs. The food was good. The overall experience was disappointing. They definitely need to figure out how to handle a game day crowd.
Made reservation days prior to Vikings playoff game.
Felt terrible for the host (as the restaurant was packed, yet people kept coming in w/ reservations). Seemed as though restaurant was quadruple booked.
Frustrating to have a reservation & yet wait 45-60 minutes after reservation time :(
Energetic establishment for Vikings fans! Large screen TVs surround making this a great spot to watch games. Very limited options for vegetarians / vegans unfortunately.
We waited 20 minutes past our reservation time for the restaurant to start clearing out. it was packed because of a football game. Once a table opened up, the host sat us promptly. then we waited a legitimate 30 minutes for ANYONE to come to our table to take drink/food orders. once someone finally came, he took our drink, food and app order. 15 more minutes, he came back to our table to ask if we wanted drinks. We explained that we had already ordered food and drinks and were waiting. 20 seconds later drinks, apps, and dinner orders arrived at the same time. How long had everything been sitting there waiting to be brought to us? no idea. Under staffed, not the brightest servers, and food was just okay. This is my 2nd poor experience at Randle's. Won't be going back.
First visit was great. Food was fabulous as well as the service!
Great food and environment
Beware the “Coleslaw” - it is a big pile of kale (which is fine if you are ordering kale - but they should at least warn you). The service was meh, they were very quick to bus the tables (almost taking food out of your hand) but slow if you wanted to order something. If you weren’t 100% ready to order you had to wait some time before they came back around. And I sure would have loved to ordered dessert but they never offered.
Queso was amazing, Mongolian beef was delicious & cheese wontons were to DIE FOR!
