The food was very good, and the atmosphere nice as well. Our server was ALWAYS in a hurry, and the place was not busy. This does not suggest we were ignored, but simply paid little attention at best. My wife is gluten free. Options are extremely limited. Likely would not return because of this.
Chicken tortilla soup and kale coleslaw were amazing. Would go back just for that. My daughter ate my leftover ahi tuna sandwich and wanted to get one herself ASAP.
First course consisted of fried cheese curds which took an inordinate amount of time to be served, about 35 minutes. Granted, the place was very busy with customers. Quite tasty, though, once they arrived, and not at all greasy. My wife had the grilled cheese and arugula sandwich, and I opted for the seared tuna sandwich. Both were very good but again, took an inordinate amount of time to arrive, about 45 minutes. Cocktails were spot on: the Manhattan and the Cosmopolitan.
Overall food: A-
Overall service: C
Overall ambience: Place was loud as hell.
I met a friend for happy hour. It was our first time at Randle's.
We shared four appetizers. The food was really good, drinks too.
Jeremy was our waiter and took good care of us.
Fun atmosphere. Great place for watching sports!
We'll be back.
Always a great time at Randle’s watching sports & catching up with friends! Shout out to Jeremy for the great service!
We were called 1 1/2 hours before our reservation and told that they can't full-fill our reservation and it snuck into the Open Table system as available but were then told the restaurant had booked a group event and they would not honor our reservation. Our group does not believe that that is the case. We will not dine there again or even attempt to.
The space was nice and plenty of large screens for watching sports, but overall, it was a bit too noisy and the foot was mediocre at best.
Well it was my first time here and our waitor was really good and helpful and to round it all off the food was outstanding! Definitely gonna come back to Randles when we are back in Minneapolis!
Great food, great service!
5 of us were in town for the Vikings game, and stopped in for a late dinner & beer. Well worth our time.
I had made reservations for 5:45 pm and when we got there, a gentleman was just leaving after waiting at the check in for over 5 minutes waiting for a host/hostess to seat him. We waited a few minutes as well until my sister-in-law saw someone who could help us. We were seated at a two-top table next to a concrete pillar. I asked if we could have a larger table. We were told that they had so many reservations they needed to save the 4-tops for other parties. A few minutes later she told us that someone had cancelled and we could move to a 4-top. However we were at the restaurant for almost an hour and when we left there were still an extreme lot of 4-tops still open and no one coming in. This was on Saturday, Sept 2 for dinner before a show.
Had a very tasty meal with some of my co-workers for lunch. Quick and attentive service. Loved the grilled cheese and the tomato bisque soup. The Mongolian beef was very good also.
It took a llfew minutes for us to be greeted on the main floor. The door was open but no one was there. Finally someone came in and offered for us to seat our selves. We went to the roof top which had a great view of Nicollet Dr.
My nachos were forgotten and got cold, the waitress ordered more and they came out cold as well... the margarita was very tasty though.
They have great happy hour specials. Comfortable outdoor sofa seating. Great service. Bring your sunglasses.
The restaurant was slammed. Our waiter was practically running between tables. Service started a little slowly, but normalized once the two servers decided who was going to wait on our table. I had the spicy tuna roll and siracha edamame. Both were delicious though I wish the tuna roll had been a little more compact; each piece was just a little too large to eat gracefully in one bite. We had outdoor seating on a beautiful night.
This was a very disappointing restaurant experience. The service was very poor. We sat at our table for 30 minutes before receiving a drink, 15 minutes before being acknowledged. Our waters were never refilled and we were never asked if we wanted a second drink. The food was good, not great. There are too many choices of places to dine and we won't be going back.
The worst service experience ever! There seemed to be a lot of servers but their sections were not managed well. They were stuck at the bar getting drinks, tables were to many for some and not enough for others. Had to ask for everything, just stopping random servers to get waited on. There were tables around us with the same experience. This was at 4 in the afternoon! John Randle, I think you need a new management team, it wasn’t the servers fault just poorly managed...
Wonderful experience out on rooftop!!!
Ate outside on the Nicollet Mall - since I made an advance reservation and it was early 515p I was disappointed they gave me a small table on the outside edge of the patio area. This caused us to be super aware of our computer bags and purses. People that didn't have a reservation had better tables. The waiter was nice and checked in enough. Food was good - had fish n chips and a happy hour special margarita which was tasty. Although the waiter took my drink before I was done and I didn't see him do it. Overall, I would go there again to sit outside.
Note: Restroom was clean and adequate.
Randle's has great food. I have tried the carne asada tacos and have also had the shrimp pad thai. A friend tried the spicy mac n cheese. It was very good. Yes, the food is good.
The service was atrocious. We sat down and waited 10+ minutes for someone to even come to the table. He never greeted us and barely even talked. It took forever to get waters of all things and then he said he would get a wine chiller which never arrived. We ordered items off the menu and they came out completely different. I would not suggest this place unless you want to be disrespected and have terrible service.
The food is good, you just don't get very much for the money you spend. I'm not a big eater but I still left a little hungry despite finishing my meal.
The pot stickers were very good. We ordered them and our entrees at the same time. All items arrived at the same time. Entrees were carne asada tacos and Mongolian beef. The carne asada was overcooked and very chewy. The Mongolian beef was tasty but needed a little more spice.
We sat inside on the main floor and found the music to be very loud making it hard for conversation.
Our waiter, Evan, found us to be non existent and for the most part left us to fend for ourselves. He was not very attentive because he was busy outside.
I usually leave a 20% or higher tip but tonight was only 15%. I would have felt better leaving less but I know the business after been in it for over twenty years.
Server was nice but not great. She didn't know that answer to any of the questions we had about food, specials, etc. She never came back to our table to ask about refilling drinks, etc. The bathroom was not clean and had a note on it because it was broken. Food was ok but nothing to write home about.
We had a very new waiter (first shift on the job) and he really didn't have a good handle on the food or drinks. Maybe management's fault with lack of training, not his, but made for a frustrating experience as he kept coming back to us with things which were no longer on the menu or drinks list. Although the place was not too crowded, we had to flag another waiter down to have our waiter bring the check and the check was incorrect when he finally brought it to us. He did correct it, but we never got the feeling we were well taken care of during our dinner. Food was marginal at best...the kung pao was dry and needed a lot more sauce and less rice, the flatbread was soggy and not very crisp. On the bright side, the cream cheese wontons were pretty good. There are too many good restaurants in this area to choose Randle's to dine again.
Food was good and service congenial. We would return to try some other menu items.
Chaotic path to the upstairs table. No one to check in the reservation, self seating, slow bar service, dry food. Really felt like the place wS a shadow of what it could have been. Plastic service ware and glassware felt cheap. Nothing special to go back for
The ambience is terrible! This could be an incredible modern sports bar but it’s as bland as it possibly could be! I had to return my martini twice and switch to a glass of wine because they just couldn’t get it right! The food was mediocre at best! Very disappointing! there was hardly anybody in the place and yet the service was so slow! This is a wonderful location and could be a destination modern sports bar if they have the right management in there at this point I would think the doors will close any day !
It was pretty good. The food was great but the wait staff was run ragged. Barely saw our waiter and had to chase him down for the tab. Sushi was a ok but not great and the special request my guest made was forgotten (mayo on the side and add onions to burger, nothing too crazy) Everyone was friendly and polite but too busy to give great service.
This was my first visit to Randles’s and I will definitely be going back. We were greeted warmly and the service was excellent. Our waiter Alex was extremely attentive to our needs and checked back frequently to see if we needed anything. The food was excellent and unique. We had the meatloaf and tacos. Next time I will try the fish and fries. The noise level was such that you could converse easily however this could change with a larger crowd so I do not know if this is the case at all times. I would recommend Randle’s to anyone.
Sushi was very good. I will comeback for sushi. Other food were little bit pricy and too simple.
Good for watching sporting events! Great food is a bonus
The staff was friendly and efficient .We will definitely go back.
Thank you for a great place to watch the Kansas University game before an event we were attending at the Minnesota Orchestra. Outstanding service and very good food. Would definitely recommend.
It was for my birthday and it was during the week, which was very quiet. The cocktails are great! Overall the food was great. The only complaint I would have is for being a sport's bar they didn't have gluten free hamburger buns and my son can't have gluten. Other than that it was great!
We were celebrating a birthday, when I emailed them, they werent sure if they offered anything for birthdays??? weird.. We arrived right before 6 hoping for happy hour, the hostess sat us immediately so we could order apps. I Wish I would have got her name, she was so sweet, helpful and friendly. We got the tuna roll, jerk wings, buffalo wings, fries and chips and salsa. Probably could have passed on the salsa. Everyone had a variety of meals and were good for the most part. The coleslaw was horrible- kale or something. Service was a little slow but friendly. Pet peeve the dishes werent cleared as more food and drinks came. We were offered a birthday dessert and then it was charged to my bill. They promptly took it off. Glad we tried it. but wouldnt go out of our way to go back.
Terrible food and menu. I did not like anything about this place
Overall our experience wasn't the best. I ordered my burger medium, but it came out well done. My wife ordered chicken pad Thai, but she was given shrimp pad Thai You could tell that the server was having a hectic night, so service was a bit slow and awkward. I would recommend other places downtown over Randle's.
Awesome value great meal we will definitely return. Jeremy our waiter was fantastic.
