Owner / Chef Mozy Jahanguiri, who has run restaurants in Chicago, Minneapolis, and Dallas, has opened The Rancho Santa Fe Bistro in the space formerly occupied by The Pantry on Paseo Delicias. Mozy has prepared a menu that offers a wide variety of healthy and stylish fresh grill and more offering a balanced approach to food and wine along with bistro favorites including Oysters Rockefeller, traditional escargots, baked brie with grapes and honey and more for starters. Just a lovely romantic setting whether it’s indoor or outdoor. We chose the patio with lighted olive bushes and Spanish ambience. Server was delightful and the owner came over and said hi. Just lovely

Took 20 minutes for the waiter to come over after we had been seated and said that the reason being was that they were understaffed which was not the case. There were people who came in after us who got their food before anyone even asked our order Waiter then got our order wrong, the portions were small. The food was mediocre. Then he got our order wrong again for dessert as well. There was a lot of fake smiling and apologizing about his negligence but I don’t buy it. I’ve been telling people, it’s not a place that I would refuse to go to but not somewhere I would go on my own. Mille fleurs across the street is much better in terms or food quality, and service. I would recommend that restaurant instead

A gem in the heart of Rancho Santa Fe. Sleepy town which shuts down early even on a Saturday, so it was quiet but food service and ambience lovely as always.

Went there the other night and had Jesse as our server. He told us about the specials with such detail I was amazed! I went with the filet special and it nearly melted in my mouth! Such a great setting with a garden like feel. I don't know that I've ever been to a place like this! I highly recommend this place for a quaint date and a very good meal! I will be back for sure

The bistro is one of our local favorites, and not just because it’s local. The food is wonderful. They have a great wine list, and the owners could not be more accommodating and friendly. The ambience feels like a Bistro in Paris you sit outdoors with all the little lights, and the birds in the foliage, it’s beautiful, and inside is charming and warm and comfortable. If you have not been there yet, I suggest you do and remember the escargots are one of the best I’ve ever had absolutely delicious, but all their food is exceptional.

I’d been here for lunch with friends a couple times and enjoyed it so I decided to bring my husband here for an anniversary dinner and it was a hit. We sat in the charming indoor dining room next to an open window and enjoyed a delicious dinner (a shared caprese salad, fillet mignon for him and rack of lamb for me) and it was all delicious. My husband loves apple pie and he declared their apple pie à la mode to be the best he’s ever had. They have an extensive wine list with a large number of wines by the glass and I enjoyed a delicious pinot noir. Our server was friendly and just attentive enough. We may have found our new favorite North County restaurant.

Service was terrible! This restaurant caters to the locals. If you are a visitor beware. It took us 15 minutes jut to get our menus and that was because I asked a busboy to bring them to us. It was an hour in a half and we still did not get our food as we watched the waiters mingle with the locals that they knew by name, while they would get their meals we were still waiting. We had to go to the service window where the cooks area was and asked the manager why hadn't we been served we were seated at 7:30 pm and it was already 9pm. The restaurant was not busy or short handed just a place that favors the locals.

we reserved a table to celebrate our anniversary. Never have escargot like this before without shells on them. Flat bread for starter and it brought out them same time with our entrees. And my sea food sampler: salmon and scallops were overcooked and dried. The waitress offered to redo my food but I didn't want to, because I didn't want my husband to wait for mine. Over all it could be better if more though was put into the details of how it is served.

I’m thinking this was a “one off” evening as we have been there many times. The Caesar salad was chopped in shreds making it difficult to eat, the croutons were almost nonexistent and the dressing was bland. The stuffed pepper was the usual delicious, the salmon was passable but I would guess it was frozen and not fresh. IMHO Could have been better…. Also, I do not live in Palm Springs. I am a long time local!

My husband and I love the bistro! The food is great the staff could not be nicer and we love the ambience with the twinkle lights outside in a comfortable atmosphere inside it couldn’t be a nicer place to go for an evening out. And don’t forget to try to ask her go best I’ve ever had.!!

We had a great dinner! We tried four appetizers, caprese salad, margarita flatbread, eggplant bistro, and shrimp sauté, and a main entree duck breast. All came out delicious! We definitely will go back.

Quaint, upscale place with great food. Best eggplant parm we've had. The pork chop is thick & fantastic too. Hopefully you can make it on a night they have the to-die-for Dover Sole Picatta. Patio or indoor seating are both quaint.

This is one of the best hidden gems in RSF, the service was great and the atmosphere is perfect to catch up with friends or family. I ordered the lamb shank and it was fantastic. I am not a dessert person BUT….. if you don’t save room for the apple pie a la mode you will miss out on the best pie in SD. We will be back!

We love this neighborhood gem in Rancho Santa Fe. It's always been a dependable winner for food quality with a slightly different twist and well prepared. The ambiance is quiet so you can actually hear the conversation of people you are dining with. Big plus!!! The slow roasted steak was amazing, ditto for our salmon. Wines are excellent. We hadn't been there in a while but it was as good as always.
