This was a bit of a strange one. Some good elements, and some pretty poor.
The Good - The food. All dishes we had were flavourful and nicely presented. I also like the open kitchen, always good to watch them do their stuff.
But that's kind of where it ended. Service was fine, without being excellent but the restaurant feels like they need to spend some money on it. Wobbly tables and chairs, the tables couldn't be fixed with inserting a napkin under a leg as it was basically just on the way to being broken. Pretty unforgivable for me, I hate a wobbly table during eating. I get the fact they are aiming for a bohemian look, but that does not mean that the tables and chairs should feel like they are about to give up on you (It took 3 attempts to find a chair that was semi-ways stable). Equally, the pedal bin to put your paper towels after a trip to the loo was broken, defeating the purpose of having a pedal bin, you've then got to touch the lid to open it, I'm sure countless others have done too.
So all in all, 3 stars out of 5 seems fair to me as it wasn't terrible, just could be so much better with a touch of care.

Really, really disappointed with this place. Taking up prime real-estate on Soho’s Dean St. you expect a certain level of food and service. Not once did the waiting staff ask how our food was as I suspect they already know the response. The ‘highlight’ was the prawns - served in a tray containing firelighters - yum, the taste of paraffin! Someone needs to tell the kids in the kitchen (and i suspect they were straight out of catering college) that the firelighters are supposed to go under the dish not in it. I watched two other tables struggle with a bowl of prawns uncontrollably on fire. When you have to leave feedback for the chefs not to put petrol into dishes you know the place is beyond saving. Oh - and it’s not cheap either - all in all, it’s a fail.

Great experience! I'd like to thank the staff for an amazing night, me and my fiancee enjoyed our food and the prawns were indescribable. Highly recommend to anyone who's not visited yet!

Menu was nice and simple with a variety of dishes, the service was quick and friendly. As a couple we the delicious and tender lamb chops, the octopus, patatas bravas and an exquisite chorizo cannelloni. Food was amazing and presentation was immaculate.

I run a Members' Club and Concierge service and have been recommending Rambla to a lot of my members. My last visit was awful and I will be removing Rambla from that list. They have a pretty compact menu and did not have 3 of the dishes on that menu available which is quite a lot! Service was really poor - staff seemed uninterested and were inattentive. It was also empty - so no excuses. Rambla really needs to step up.

Spinach croquetas, octopus, tuna all excellent. Food decent value, wine a little pricey, but then again, this is Soho. Great evening, would certainly recommend.

Food was great. Atmosphere and lay out is lacking. Staff were pretty ambivalent to us. In a city with so many great choices, I sadly won't be going back.

The food was lovely but sadly the service is not very good. Staff weren’t familiar with the menu nor spanish cuisine and every question required another member of staff to be called over. Lots of leaning across the table to reach things while we were still eating and generally lacked the friendliness and flair that making eating in soho such a nice experience. I hope they manage to find the right waiting staff as it’s a lovely eaterie in many ways!

I had been to Rambla before and remembered the Spanish staff, service and food to be of very high standard. I was very disappointed that the food was not as good as it used to be, the place itself was not the cleanest, the chairs stained. The staff was perfectly alright but not as attentive as last time. It didn't feel like a Spanish tapas bar. I would not recommend it any longer because it's just not as good as it used to be.

What was an enjoyable meal began with an excellent chorizo flambeadao and some very good patatas braves. The paella marisquero was less good, too little in the way of sea food and some of the rice over-salted. The service could have been more enthusiastic.

Food was quite nice but I think the restaurant is a bit broken. We got given our starter three times and then weren’t notified that our main dish had run out 45 minutes after ordering it. When we enquired there was no apology. Staff tried their best but needed more training and at one point a server was having a stand up row with the chef (including expletives) right next to us. Someone needs to take control of this place. It has potential.

Just a bit disappointed. Read some great reviews but didn’t live up to what we hoped for. We went very early due to theatre so maybe that was part of the problem, but very disinterested staff, pretty average atmosphere and food just fine but nothing that will live in the memory. Not bad...but nothing wildly exciting. A shame generally. Perhaps complacent after such good reviews?

Discovered Rambla at the end of last year and was blown away by the food, wine and service. Have been here since with friends and for business lunches and each time my guest has been incredibly impressed by the cuisine. Thoroughly recommend.

Seems to have gone off the boil since I last visited a year ago. It was, however, a Tuesday lunchtime. Paella overcooked and menu seemed more limited.

Tables are too small for a tapas style dining situation.

The menu is not bad, however, I would have expected more a better selection of Spanish classics. We didn’t order much and we had one sangria and the bill came to £41. I think if I were to return I would stick to ordering the paella which is enough for 3 people

Was here last year. It was fantastic. But what can one year do to a good place..... Alot. Not in a good way. The service was very bad. The waiters were to occupied with there own phone that they couldn't take care of the customers. The menu's were full of grease and other stuff. The paiela rice was under cooked and the porckbelly wasn't crispi. So i don't recommend this place to anyone. Overall service was wery bad.

The food was very disappointing - rubbery squid and a revolting, over cooked looking Paella that we immediately sent back and ordered something else instead. Our waitress was very apologetic and gave us free puddings, but I would never go back there again.

I had been recommending Rambla to many friends...on one condition, they must try the superb quail drumsticks with pancetta and a wonderful sweet dipping sauce...so when I rocked up on Wednesday night with my son and an old uni mate from Greece, to be told they’d changed the menu and no quail, I wasn’t particularly happy ...we had a quick ham and pan con tomate, which was ok, and an ok patatas bravas and headed off to Salt Yard

Prawns, grilled octopus and mushroom canelones were really tasty. Sadly the patatas bravas less so - somewhat over-fried and unfortunately the olives ordered never arrived. Would have loved to finish with the crema catalana but was eventually told it would be at least an hour before it was ready after ordering! I have eaten here before and it has been great so maybe just a Saturday evening blip.

Quite an overpowering smell as you enter the restaurant. Not sure if it was cheese. Took a long time before anyone came to get a drinks order even though it wasn't busy and they didn't have any pine nut croquettas on the menu which was the reason we were there (which was disppointing)

Food was delicious though

We had been several times before and found delicious food and a very buzzy atmosphere. On Tuesday it was very quiet - we had a pre-theatre booking at 6pm - and it still wasn’t busy when we left soon after 7pm. My daughter loves the menu but the first four things we ordered were not available. No octopus, no cod, no spinach croquetas, no ham croquetas. The delivery of the food was pretty random. The food we had was acceptable but nowhere near as good as in previous visits. My son and his girlfriend ordered two cokes and got two diet Pepsis which they dislike. The restaurant did not charge for the Pepsis and gave us a free plate of ham and bread to compensate, but the whole experience was very disappointing and I don’t think we will go again.
