Snarky server-and not in the “fun Italian way”.
Lasagne was pretty bad
Rest of our meal was “fine”
I don’t get it. Had better Italian food in Nazareth the next day.
Food is consistently great and plenty of it. Wait staff checks on you unlike other restaurants who forget about you once you get your meal. Always a good time out
Ralph's was on my bucket list and I did not leave disappointed. Food was excellent and our waitress, Lauren I believe, was great. I will be going back again for sure.
Ralph's is a classic Italian restaurant in Philly. I've been there a number of times with clients and business associates. First time with my wife for a quiet Sunday lunch. We had a nice time. Quiet, awesome food, good service. Ask the server for recommendations around your likes. They WILL hook you up. Highly recommend it for those who like Italian and history.
Why eat anywhere else when there's Ralph's!!! I just went for the first time, and all of us at the table had great service, delicious (incredibly delicious) food (from appetizers through dessert) in a clean and friendly atmosphere. No matter where you live or work, get to Ralph's.
We love original South Philly Ralph's and again, we were not disappointed! Our entrees, Chicen Parm and Veal piccante were outstanding, as was our penne side dish. The bread was fresh and delicious as well. Our server was attentive. We cant wait to go back to enjoy more Authentic Italian food!
Brought some clients from hong kong to visit an old school italian establishment. I felt like being at my grandparents house on a Sunday. The atmosphere & smell was amazing . We were greeted by a young lady who sat us right away “we were 15 min early” Had a gentleman marco take care of us gave some great recommendations & very knowledgeable about the wine list . Veal parm is the way to go my two friends had mussels and the osso bucca which fell off the bone absolutely amazing . We saved room for dessert getting the homemade Oreo cheesecake & ricotta chocolate chip cannolis . Thanks for having us see u again soon
Consistently good as always. Perfect for great basic Italian
The service was great and the food was exceptional. Do not skip this restaurant when in Philadelphia.
After hearing that Ralphs was a Philly favorite, my family and i gave it a try. Both the food and the price were thoroughly disappointing. There is no chance of me ever returning to this restaurant.
Please believe me when I tell you that you that this food is barely edible.
We we all happy with our orders.. three veal dishes and an Alfredo and salad. Servers were nice. It’s very very loud in there so keep in mind.
You can always count of getting authentic Italian food at Ralph's! We ate on the 2nd floor and our server Matt was great! Five diners and 5 different meals and everyone was pleased! Those who ordered dishes with shrimp commented that the shrimp were larger than expected and perfectly cooked! It can get very noisy on the 2nd floor and it was suggested that if noise is a problem we should request a table on the main floor. Will definitely be back!!
Ralph's doesn't disappoint. It's a solid neighborhood Italian restaurant. Nothing fancy, just down home South Philly Italian. We were seated right by the kitchen, but you don't care when you're at Ralph's because every table feels like home. Great mussels white followed by veal picante. Everything is always well prepared and the service is friendly.
Our server was inattentive, but pleasant; may have been working tables on multiple floors. Mussels were delicious, but bread basket was empty and with no server in sight for 10 minutes - left us with nothing to soak up the wonderful sauce. The Tomato mozzarella was soggy and unappetizing. Food was inconsistent with some winning entrees (chicken parm) and some disappointments (cold lasagna). It’s been a few years since we dined here . . . Not what we remembered.
Other than the bread that was brought to the table being a little hard, my meal was incredible and the service was great.
Went to Ralph’s for the first time with my daughter. Great red gravy joint with south philly atmosphere. Service and food were both excellent. Valet service was much appreciated especially because the weather was lousy. The $10 was well worth it. We went early, 6:15pm, so the crowd wasn’t a problem. Promptly seated and greeted by wait staff. We sat in front room which is small but cozy. We started with pasta fagioli which was tasty but loaded with beans. I had shrimp scampi and my daughter had eggplant. Both were served piping hot and were delicious. Scampi included 6 perfectly cooked jumbo shrimp with had a great sauce. Overall, a terrific dining experience. March 2018
Who doesn’t love Ralph’s. Enough said. I give it 5s for everything. Been coming here for 38 years.
Excellent Italian cuisine served in a warm, old world atmosphere. Friendly and attentive wait staff provide good service, and the pricing is fair. A must visit for anyone seeking a great dining experience in Philadelphia!
Never had a bad meal here. The veal is absolutely the best. We try to come here several times a year.
Hadn't been here in over 10 yrs, and was honestly disappointed after finally returning. Mainly did so for a family member who had always wanted to dine here. The menu appears to be substantial, but too many of the offerings are truly basic. Appetizers and entrees are things you can get at Maggiano's, and probably with more 'love.' None of our four entrees really impressed anyone in our group. Portions were fairly large, but didn't 'wow' as we had hoped. Servers on our visit were very young, a bit scattered, and didn't seem to know who was actually tending to our group. Wine we ordered tasted like a really cheap version. I personally have never been a fan of the downstairs seating, as you are literally on top of other patrons. Maybe that's the 'South Philly' feel, but that should be limited to your group, not every table within inches of another, like McDonald's. Upstairs allowed for a little more room it seemed. No fault of the restaurant, but a few, other nearby groups were simply rude and ignorant. Our group included my young daughter, who had to listen to the next table dropping f-bombs out loud for some time until I asked them to be more respectful. Doubtful we'll return.
Love the veal parmigiana!
Love this place. I’ll be back soon. Amazing food and history.
Great food and service...we’ll definitely be back.
The dinner was mediocre at best and the service was extremely rushed.
The food was very delicious and generous. Also, the menu was good, authentic and tasty. Loved it.
Late lunch was delightful, service was great, food was fantastic
Great for Old school traditional
Truly enjoyed the ambience of Ralph’s, steeped in history. The quality of the food and service was exceptional. We would recommend this restaurant to everyone. 👍🏻👍🏻
Fun times with the family
We rendezvoused with old friends and family. Ralph's is such a special place. Not only is the food fantastic but the atmosphere is so warm and friendly. We celebrated another diner's birthday song that was seated in the same room as our party of 8. It was so much fun, we were invited to share the cake, and both parties sang "Fly Eagles Fly". The food and service was wonderful one of my favorite places to dine.
Ralph’s has some of the best Italian comfort food I have ever had. Delicious! Ralph’s does the classic Italian fare exceptionally well.
Food was incredible. Server was great. Everyone is Philly friendly. Love it!
Service was excellent food was outstanding and love the convenience of the valet service
A Lyft driver recommended Ralph’s to us and told us the history of the restaurant. I’m originally from Chicago, and I know good Italian food, so I’m always willing to see what a good Italian restaurant has to offer. I was not disappointed. The location was quaint, and the food was excellent
Felt authentic. The workers are very proud of the restaurant.
This was our first time dining at Ralph’s.
We felt our server was a bit short with us and we felt a bit rushed even though the restaurant was not crowded and people were not standing around waiting for tables. Also, at the table next to us one of the employees was filling shakers with parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes; we found that a bit odd since we were in the dinning room and still dinning.
We enjoyed the food and overall had a nice time with our friends at Ralph’s.
Great food, excellent service.
Tables crammed in, too many, too close.
Inexpensive and great food! Get the long hots appetizer!
This was our third visit to Ralph's, and it will not be our last. Eeach time we have visited the food had been delectable. (I suggest the chicken sorrento). Staff was available and friendly.
We were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Everything was perfect. The waiter was very nice, answered the kids questions. Food came out fast, but not rushed. Everything was delicious! Will definitely return
