Raleigh Beer Garden
We were celebrating my son’s 21st birthday and had a wonderful time. Enjoy everything! Our waitress was very nice and we got our food quickly. It was good and the beer was great!
Disappointing. Went out of our way to try this place. Came in for lunch. Very few customers. We had to be reseated because the area we were in had an overpowering bleach smell. We told the server we would be moving upstairs and he didn’t even acknowledge. We found a spot upstairs over the bar and it was fine except for the a/c condensation dripping on the floor. The server was nice enough but ill informed with regard to beer. Having to go to the internet to research beer “because there are so many” is silly. We lived in Belgium and there are plenty of pubs with 350+ beers and yet somehow they manage to print out a menu and have knowledgeable staff. The food was average, fries were cold. Not many customers, yet the hostess decided to seat another group right next to us. Unnecessary. Later, we heard the server complaining about having to serve the customers upstairs. Beer was ok except it was flat. Must have had a c02 issue. Not worth the trip.
Great beer and beer prices. Food seemed a bit overpriced, especially for what ended up on the plate. Service was definitely sub-par.
It just took a long time to get waited on and there were hardly any people in there. Great selection of beer and food was ok.
Waitress was nice, but we didn’t get much attention and it was very slow. She asked us for patience because she was training a new waitress, but neither one paid us much attention
Great location, fun, food tastes good and love the selection of drinks available.
Food was bad
Great atmosphere. Awesome beer selection and food. We will be back.
Great beer flights great mix drinks and wonderful fun casual atmosphere. Food was good too.
Friends from out of town went to dinner here. Outside was nice, but food was nothing special. One person got wrong item, she had to wait, we all finished and her salad arrived. Overall okay.
Staff was much more concerned with socializing with each other than checking up on our table. One side of the table received their food 25 minutes before the other side. Waitress checked in on us once and servers had an attitude when asked about status of food. All food was cold. It was just terrible. Had people coming in from out of town, we were excited to come here... SO disappointed. Will never eat here again. Will not recommend.
Stupid concept with the beer menu being only online. It was inconvenient and annoying to have to use my phone. I went there to get away from my phone and ipad only to be forced to use to order a damn beer. The topper was they don’t have many international beers outside of what you can get at your grocer anyway. Weird place and stupid concept. It give them 24 months if they don’t change the menu strategy. Heres a thought for you. If you a foreigner visiting, the online menu is only in friken English. Oh and most international phones cost a small fortune to get on the web here in the US to surf. Who thought of this crap?
👍👍👍👍👍👍 great 👍
Great place to meet up with friends, fun atmosphere , 376 different beers. Good bar food. Service on 3 levels. Great outdoor seating & outdoor fireplace. Rooftop deck with service. I always enjoy myself here.
We ordered a series of appetizers for our meal, all of which were quite delicious. I did not catch our server's name, but he was quite attentive without being overly intrusive. He was also assisted by another server who had a nearby table. The beer selection is phenomenal! We enjoyed the eclectic decor and comfortable seating at our table. Would absolutely recommend to a friend.
Really diverse selection of beers, ciders, etc. Very noisy. Server we had was great!
The best beer selection in Raleigh. This is excellent food, not bar food, real food.
Our server Thomas was great! Wasnt afraid to choose beer for us because there is a huge menu!
Enjoyed the food. Big place!
Cool thing to do for a visitor in raleigh
Good food - we had the pretzel and maple bacon to start, then pizza and pulled pork sliders. The service was excellent the server knew her brewsand offered great recommendations. The manager let my visiting family step up to tye rooftop, even though there was a private party & had a friendly chat with them.
The patio is beautiful - nice lightly & well laud out.
At a place with 300+ beers on tap, one wants a printed menu showing at least large chunks of the selections on a page. That allows easily comparing similar beers of one type, grouped together; glancing at other groups of possibly interesting types; comparing them amongst other types; going back and forth to help make a decision. Instead RBG expects all visitors to have a smart phone with a big data plan and use it to access three online beer lists [unhelpfully labeled "First Floor" (turns out to be NC beers), "Second Floor" (turns out to be non-NC beers) and "Rooftop Bar" (I never had the energy to get to that one)]. My iPhone SE displayed only two beers at a time in landscape view (portrait view showed even less)--but really less than two, because an oversized "Back To Top" button covered much of the right-hand column. This is very much like presenting a bar graph with only one bar displayed at a time on the screen. The information is available, but nearly impossible for anyone other than a savant to process.
Luckily our waiter was knowledgable (and seemed patient), suggested a good IPA to my wife. After (I didn't time it; it seemed like a lifetime, but was maybe 20 minutes) of trying to figure out something on my phone, I cried uncle and just asked for what my wife was having.
The kitchen managed to ruin the simplicity of a Margherita pizza by topping it with onion and dousing it with a balsamic glaze that overpowered the tomato, cheese, and basil. Counter to my usual limiting intake of white-flour products, I ate the outside crust, leaving most of the center on my plate (usually I do the opposite). My wife picked at her pizza, eating the bits of chicken and also leaving most of her pizza.
As we were seated toward the front of the restaurant, we didn't have much opportunity to assess its overall ambience, But our table seemed rather private, with quite comfortable wing chairs and a view of the attractive patio.
First floor bar tenders were awesome. They knew about all the beers. The food made us sick.
I’ve always loved the Beer Garden! After frequenting many many times for late night eats and beer, friends and myself tried for a normal dinner time option. The beer itself was great, but the service was quite bad. We ordered the beer battered pretzels (10/10) for an appetizer, yet they came well after our meals - and only after three different members of the wait staff were asked about them. Additionally, it took several reminders of beer orders to actually get them, and then the wrong burger orders were placed - which resulted in members of our party not being our meals until later on - but still before we got the appetizer.
Overall - amazing beer and worth going, but not for an actual sit-down dinner when there are so many other restaraunts in DTR with amazing service and great food.
Beer selection is unbeatable! Knowledge of wait staff very impressive. Becky was the bomb. The shrimp ceviche was excellent.
Group of friends before a concert - great beers! Highly recommend
