Rainforest Cafe - Mall Of America
I took my kids while visiting the Mall of America. I’ve eaten at several locations over the years, but the experience was lackluster and disappointing. The server was fine, but the food was beyond mediocre. Nothing tasted fresh. I believe most of it was either reheated or frozen. I’ve always loved the charm, but for the price point, I won’t return.
We had a great experience,. Everything but the food was great. Nothing too special about it.
Yes and no. The experience was fun and the service was great! They had fun drinks but the food was not so good. It tasted half frozen and no flavor.
It's attractive to kids of course, but the food quality is lacking. It lacks taste, chicken is dry, roasted vegetables are just corn and carrots??? Cheeseburgers for the kids are dry, mac and cheese is overcooked mush, the icee slushy drinks come in cheap "souvenir" cups that are hardly reusable. and of course they're sugary, and they're in a big picture on the menu. SO, I don't think I'll ever go there again, because there is nothing there that is supportive of parents that are trying to help their kids make good choices in spite of the available options.
It was a lot of fun to take our 3 year old for her birthday. She had a blast she got the pizza and they sang to her and gave her a cupcake.
Jason the manager is a great fit for this location. He cares about more than just a paycheck.
It was such a great experience! My kids loved the animal noises with the lightening. Makes you feel like you are in the jungle.
Service was fast and friendly, we were sat right at our reservation time.
The kids cheeseburger sliders were thin and dry, but the kids thought they were great! They had them with fruit, it was fresh and yummy!
The adult food was good.
I would certainly go back, we had a lot of fun
Staff were very attentive and the food was great! The kids had fun.
The environment is fun for kids and lots of great distractions so adults can actually eat their food :) Recommend going if you are headed to MOA - but make a reservation first since the wait time is always long. Food is good, but nothing spectacular.
Service outstanding! Food not so good.
We sat for 20 minutes at our table and nobody even came for our drink order. We left with a very sad little boy because he picked that place for his birthday dinner. Very disappointed.
Fine... waitress was busy but did her best... food was ok. Very expensive though
Overall it was good. Was disappointed with the popcorn shrimp. It was all breading and no shrimp. The strips on my platter seemed light, some of breading didn’t even seemed cooked. The girls in the gift shop were nice and talkative with us and not trying to pressure us to buy anything.
Great place for kids! The noise level is a little loud, but it was a perfect place for kids. Food was delicious!
Such an amazing experience for our kids!! They loved it!! After a busy day at the mall it was fun to sit down and relax and enjoy the atmosphere!! The food was awesome and our server was the best!!!
Not really impressed at all. The food had little flavor along with the price you pay for the food you get is not worth it. Probably won’t be back honestly. Our server was really solid thought.
The food and drinks were great! All large portions. We enjoyed the variety. It was pretty expensive, but that is expected in the Mall of America, so just go in to it knowing you may spend more than at some other restaurants.
The experience was great. We were asked if we wanted to sit in front of the gorilla which our kids thought was fun. Our service was fast even though it was busy. We could have shared one kids meal since ours came with 2 burgers. Adult entry’s were just ok.
It was SO impressive 20 years ago (Denver location). Been waiting to take my kids there for a long time. Found a hair in my food. My dish was sub par. My child's food did not look all that appealing. These special animals really need an update; they look ragged. Still loved the thunderstorms. My child did think it was very cool.
We were seated and didn’t see a waiter for over 25 minutes after we finally got someone’s attention. The waitress only checked back when we were ready for our bill. My hubby did talk to the manager and we were given $25 off our meal.
Good time great service
We all know what Rainforest is -- an overpriced tourist attraction. We knew that going in. But the service was atrocious. She took our drink order, then proceeded to forget half of them. We reminded her, and she brought back only a few of those 30 minutes later. The rest we just didn't even bother ordering again. One of our entrees was completely forgotten as well, and she admitted she forgot to ring it in after we mentioned it to her. She said it would be right out -- which was another 25 minutes, when the rest of us were done eating. Was anything comp'd due to all these errors? Nope. Full price of $20-25 for each tasteless entree. If it wasn't our daughter's birthday request, we never would have agreed to go there in the first place. After that we said never again.
Had 5 small children with. Food and service was prompt.
We had a wonderful time eating at the rainforest Café!
Good food, excellent servi
that staff was really great. It was my 1st time at a rainforest café coming from British Columbia. the food was really good . I really enjoyed my mixed drink too by the bartender lady. It felt like being in a rainforest. which is pretty obvious . XD but the staff was really good . that's probably what I enjoyed the most. the lady was really friendly and really fast. and when I need a straw. She came right away and grabbed a straw . so I gave her a big tip. i would recommend going to it if you never been to one. it was expensive but for a 1st time thing. I didn't mind paying that much.
Celebrated my daughters 9th birthday and they gave her a hat and a free cupcake. She was very excited.
We visited Rainforest Cafe for a special family occasion. It was a wonderful experience with fast seating and very good service. The food offered unique versions of common dishes with enough variety to satisfy the varied tastes of our group.
Very overpriced! They have a captive audience and take advantage of it in their prices.
annual birthday trip with my granddaughter. She loves the cupcake and being sung to. Thanks for making her day special like she is!
We always love to take the kids here! The staff is very friendly and the service was fast and the food was excellent! I love the Open Table service too! We waited 2 minutes to get a table at 6:30pm on Saturday night. Walk ups waited for at least an hour to get a table, so no regrets about that!
Our chicken chimi-cha-chas had a wonderful egg roll wrapper but they were horribly salty (and I love salty food).
Our nachos came with very little toppings on the top layer...and all of the chips underneath were completely dry.
We came to Rainforest Cafe for our son’s birthday. One of the members of our party is gluten free and they were very accommodating and have lots of options. Without a reservation there was a 1.5 hour wait, so I would definitely plan ahead if visiting. It was a great time for all of us!
Very very loud... Food was cold and service was poor
No greeter at the hostess station. Had to wander a bit. Them waited for a while for our server. Had to ask for one, they said a manager would be over. Never came. So we left. The entrees would have been about $25-30 a plate. Nope!
Fun atmosphere, especially with kids! The "thunderstorm" goes off quite often; you are sure to see it! Our food came out after a long wait and was cold, or an obvious "cool" to show that it was likely sitting in the window for an extra minute or two! Our wait staff was knowledgeable, kind, and a pleasure to have. The waitress did not deliver the food (management...or so it appeared) did; one may infer they are short staffed for how busy of a location this is. If you are planning on going, make sure you have a reservation. During peek hours, the place regularly has had a one hour wait based on prior visits.
As mentioned the food seemed cool. We didn't say anything as we didn't want to send it back and wait even longer as we already were waiting 40 minutes for a cheeseburger, kids chicken, and an appetizer sampler. I know this is in a major tourist spot, but there are many food options and you are clearly paying for the name and atmosphere; not the quality of food! If you are looking for quality, go elsewhere. A fun place that is just different than most places you have back home? Then hit up Rainforest Cafe.
Family trip to MOA and thought the kids would love Rain Forest Cafe experience. They did have enjoy it and our server (DJ) was fantastic. He was busy, but still checked on us plenty of times!
We celebrated a birthday at the Rain Forest Cafe tonight and had a nice time in an energetic place.
