Rainforest Cafe - Mall Of America
No greeter at the hostess station. Had to wander a bit. Them waited for a while for our server. Had to ask for one, they said a manager would be over. Never came. So we left. The entrees would have been about $25-30 a plate. Nope!
Family trip to MOA and thought the kids would love Rain Forest Cafe experience. They did have enjoy it and our server (DJ) was fantastic. He was busy, but still checked on us plenty of times!
We celebrated a birthday at the Rain Forest Cafe tonight and had a nice time in an energetic place.
I went there to celebrate my daughters birthday with her friends but all the other guests were wished : happy birthday: no one acknowledged her birthday. she is 10.
Visiting Mall of America and had to stop by with the Kids.
It’s good for kids, but way overpriced for quality of food. I also asked if I could substitute salad for side with my burger and was told it wouldn’t be a problem but would be just a little more. Okay fine. Got bill and was charged full menu price for salad. Ultimately I didn’t get a side then that I should have got with meal since I basically ordered a separate menu item. Wouldn’t of ordered it if I knew I was paying full price. Misled by waitress.
We went for a family birthday dinner. Two of us ordered the taco salad which contained about 4 pounds of cheese and little else. We told our waitress who never showed back to the table after our order until delivery of food and then not again until the check, at which time we told and showed her what our taco salads consisted of which she replied “sorry, new chef”. Really? How hard is it to make a taco salad? Lettuce would have been nice and more than a tablespoon of meat! When the check arrived we had both been charged approximately 20$ for the salad. I went to the manager and he took it off the bill. We had a reservation and they were not busy... took 1/2 hour to seat us, they were seating people who didn’t have reservations and walked up after us. We ordered drinks and they didn’t arrive for 40 minutes. Overall a horrible experience
Mostly it was a great experience. I would however ask the management to turn down their fake thunder sounds that are so loud they completely obscured all conversations, scared small children into tears, and gave several people headaches. Otherwise the food and service are good.
The food was all overly salty.
Horrible service. Appetizer came before drinks did. Overpriced for what you got.
Wonderful wait staff and made my granddaughter feel special on her birthday celebration with me.
We had a reservation and checked in early...while we were waiting, several parties (walk ups) the same size were seated. We waited for almost 20 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, because as the hostess told us, they had no tables available for a party of five. Really? That is the point of a reservation -you put a table on hold once the party checks in and you seat them before you take walk up party after walk up party. The restaurant is one of Must stops at the MOA but the incompetence of the front line staff handling reservations is atrocious and shows a complete lack of leadership and training by the management.
We had to wait 15-20 minutes past our reservation time before we got seated, and the service was incredibly slow considering none of the food we ordered was complicated or required extended cooking times. Waiting almost an hour for fish tacos, nachos, etc. was not reasonable. The food is also very overpriced for what it is. Will likely not be returning.
Great place for kids and a unique experience. The food is great - very fresh and a nice variety. My kids loved their meals, too.
Fun place to take kids! Food is good, but overpriced.
We had a great experience at this Rainforest Cafe! It was fun and the food was great!
Had a great time, the kids loved the volcano cake and the thunderstorms
Great place to take kids for all the things to look at while waiting for food. Food is just o.k.
Our second time there. We first enjoyed the cafe in 2003 then again just a few days ago. Lots of memories. Food was great. Atmosphere was awesome. 6 yr old granddaughter was mesmerized with it all.
Awesome! We had a great dinner even with teenage kids. This is a very convenient app! We were seated right away too!
Although we had a reservation, while waiting another party was seated before us.
When at our table, bussers cleaned the table next to ours by wiping the food onto the floor, hitting our shoes, and left it on our seats-gross.
Waitress was great, ambience was what you'd expect, food was ok.
Wish they had more options for vegetarians.
Food was good. Thunder was a little loud for children. Made reservations weeks ahead of schedule, but our table was over 30 minutes late.
We had reservations and were assigned a table but had to move due to table was seated for someone else. We had 5 in our group at a table of 4 with a chair on the end. It was ok but a little tight. The hostess was nice and kept apologizing.
Waitress was great..food was good.
Great for kids. The food is mediocre but the atmosphere makes up for it. Excellent service.
My nieces flew in from Virginia and we brought them to rain forest cafe for lunch, and they loved it!! It is a fun restaurant for kids and the food is also quite tasty!!! We really enjoyed it!!
Wonderful time! Kids (8,5,2) LOVED their jungle safari.
Great environment and the kids love this place! The kids macaroni was very good. The food the adults ordered was about average. Overall, was a good time!
This place was a new experience for some of the people in our group. It was awesome! The atmosphere is fun, the food was good, and the staff were attentive and friendly! Thanks for a fun supper experience!
Service was slow and very lazy, our food was boring and very overpriced for what it was. My boyfriend and I got 0 refills in the 30+ minutes we were eating, despite our drinks being empty. We never saw our waiter to flag him down. We were seated RIGHT next to the entrance/exit so we had no cool “rainforest” features to enjoy. Overall this was my poorest rainforest cafe experience yet.
Surprisingly good food. High prices but not staggeringly so given the location and investment in decor.
I went there for their pot roast but come to find out that it was discontinued.
We ordered our food and it took 50 minutes till it arrived. I ordered the Chinese chicken salad, something that I have ordered before, and it was not prepared properly. The lettuce was not shredded, and it was missing some ingredients. Don’t think I will return after such a bad experience.
We had a lunch reservation. When we arrived, they were very nice.
We asked if we could sit next to the animals (we have two little kids) and they were happy to help accommodate us. My kids had an amazing time. The food was great as well. Overall, wonderful experience!
My three-year-old and I had a fun lunch at Rainforest Cafe! She loved choosing what she wanted from the pictures on the kids menu. The ambience is great for kids—there’s so much to look at while waiting for your food. I felt the food was slightly overpriced, but that is to be expected at the Mall of America and in a themed restaurant. We had great service during our visit.
Used to be my favorite place to eat until no one waited on us, our reservations weren't available. Nothing was good, even the food was cold.
Our waiter was outstanding! He talked directly to the kids to help them with their order and came back and checked on the entire table and not just the adults! Great service and a fun place to eat with great food!
It was a fun restaurant. Our younger kids loved the atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and helpful!
The food was delicious! But we ordered some extra sides and take too long to come. The place was busy and the service takes a little longer. The price is expensive to go frequently.
