Rainforest Cafe - Chicago Woodfield
**We are keeping the adventure going during some mall construction, please use alternate mall entrances.**
We celebrated my granddaughter's 11th birthday and she enjoyed getting the cupcake and the singing to her at the end to celebrate.
Kids loved going there to see the animals. Service was good but the waitress seemed overworked and was being waitress and hostess.
For a kid friendly restaurant it would be helpful if the servers kept that in mind. Service was slow despite it not being busy; we had to flag our server down for water a couple times; then waited almost ten minutes for our bill. Our kids loved their nuggets and fries but the adult entrees were average and not hot when they arrived.
Food was good.....ex......hair was found in friends food both plates. So other then that it was a great time. They did fix the plate but still hair in both plates. Wear a hair net maybe in kitchen lol.
Food was good. Server Crystal was fabulous!
Dazanique was our waiter and she was EXCEPTIONAL! She was attentive and went above and beyond in serving our needs. We were celebrating my daughter's 8th birthday with 5 of her friends. She made our dining experience go smooth. My friend ordered a BBQ bacon Cheeseburger which she said was amazing. I had the Tropical Oasis Trio (Salmon, Steak & Grilled Chicken) which was quite pricey ($29.99) however it was delicious and filing. We also ordered the Volcano desert for the girls and the staff sang a birthday tune for my daughter.
Great time for birthdays.
Great atmosphere but unflavored food
Would not choose to come back
First time visit for my kiddos. Great experience! Our server was wonderful & provided excellent service! Food was great & came out quick. We enjoyed our lunch & will definitely come back!
We had a good time but the overall experience had some room for improvement.
Food was fine, but nothing to rave about. Our waiter was friendly, but they were clearly understaffed. We had a reservation but still had to wait. It took a VERY long time to get food out and we were ready to leave by the time the kids drinks arrived. I will not go back anytime soon.
Food is average and very expensive. The staff was helpful and the balloon artist did great animal creations.
Food is mediocre especially for the price. Decor is dusty and looks old.
we always have a great time at rainforest Cafe! The service is excellent, and I actually think the food is fantastic! I always get the China island chicken salad. my son usually gets the Jurassic tidbits, which are a little bit on the uninteresting side, but more than sufficient for a child. We love rainforest Cafe! We highly recommend it.
Was able to reserve a table for 10 at the rain forest in Schaumburg… Had a great time, including the balloon guy who made creations for each of the kids at the table! The food was great, and the extras they offer made it a special occasion… Like the volcano dessert with the sparkler on top and themed cups for the kids! Only two minor issues… They did not know how to make a cosmopolitan and brought it in a short glass with ice, and then back in the same glass with no ice when I sent it back. Also, they reported to open table that we did not keep the reservation! OpenTable sent me an email to which I replied with details of our dinner and credit card user name…odd.
Rainforest is a great place to take kids and the staff is wonderful with them . Neither of my kids would eat the pizza however and I have to admit it was very bland. The adult food and menu is very good.
We waited over 45 minutes for our food and the restaurant was not crowded. Our server did not come to check on us or refill our waters, and we had to seek someone else out to find out what happened to our food order. Once the food finally came out, one of the orders was incorrect.
Actually I took my 2 5year old grandkids
Th server was slow. So I had a fussy toddler waiting to eat and waiting to leave. Also didn’t acknowledge the birthday we were celebrating.
But the food was good and the environment was great.
The food was overpriced and not fresh. The fish tanks were all empty. However the balloon artists were amazing.
If you are looking for lower calorie items, this isn't the place to go. There are no lower calorie healthy meal options. The meals as described on the menu sound great. There is not enough flavor to the food, just salty. Shrimp dish I had the shrimp tails were left on. This was a dish that was to be eaten with a fork. I had to pick up the shrimp and take the tails off before I could eat the noddle dish. Not enough shrimp for a $20.00 item. We dropped well over $100 for a meal for 4. One alcoholic drink was purchased. Too costly for what you get.
Great Service and food.
This Rainforest Cafe is looking worn. . . no fish in the tanks anymore. All the decor is literally dusty. The wait times for seating, drinks and food were ridiculous. The food was incredibly overpriced and really basic. This used to be a fun outing for me and my kids. . . now it's like a run down carnival ride. My son was so hungry and tired by the time his food came, he didn't enjoy the experience at all and as I said, the food was bleh.
Christmas Eve celebration
Great wait staff. Very attentive
8 year old’s Birthday.
We brought my granddaughter there for lunch. The atmosphere is great for children of all ages. Staff was friendly and very attentive! The restaurant and bathrooms are very clean.
The food was very good and fresh! The balsamic dressing was the best I have eaten from any place!
Prices are a bit high on the regular menu but you are paying for the atmosphere. I did think the price a Diet Coke was a bit excessive. The children’s menu prices were very reasonable.
I would definitely go back again and recommend it to others!
We loved our server Susie! She is the best. And the specials menu was so yummy! We love the atmosphere and it’s a tradition to visit this location. Fun drinks for mom and dad and our girls cleaned their plates!
The food is pricey, but plentiful and a fun place to go for a kids birthday dinner or just a treat for a kid that really likes animals. The service was very good.
They even had a ballon guy there!
We went for my grandgirls 3rd Birthday
Despite unfavorable reviews, we took a chance while shopping at Woodfield. Not disappointed. Very friendly wAit staff. No waiting on our reservation. Service really good and Food was adequate to tasty. Flatbread needed more cheese. Obviously- fun friendly environment. No crowded feeling even though restaurant was full.
We went for my sons 9th birthday per his request and it was such a fun experience! He had so much fun, that he’s asked to go again!
Perfect place for dining with kids. The gift shop and restaurant was full of interesting things for a 2 year old. The moving animals and rainforest sounds were intriguing without being scary. The menu selections and quality of food has really improved over the years. My granddaughter was delighted by the balloon guy. The table arrangements allowed for ample space between people and room for toddler to comfortably roam.
I got charged for the food of the people who got the table before us and when I noticed and told the server she closed it but then took my receipts and then charged me again
My order was made incorrectly. Our waitress did bring it to the managers attention and he had my food remade. My veggie wrap had very, very little vegetables. I was so disappointed.
We requested the balloon guy three times before he stopped at our table - he claimed our table is not visible - next to a tree.
The bathroom was very messy n it smelled.
Our waitress was wonderful- apologized - she shouldn’t have to.
We were very disappointed with our visit.
Love coming here with the kids. They're entertained and the food is great! My favorite is ALWAYS the pastalaya! So tasty and so much flavor and SPICE! YUM!
The unfriendly and curt bartender drops the service rating to a good. Our dining room sever was very pleasant and efficient.
Food was OK service was terrible, waited 30 min for our check.
Service was a bit slow but overall good experience. The kids loved the atmosphere and the food. The balloon character person is very talented.
Service was slow and food was ok to good. For a family with young kids (10 & below), recommend it. Any older, go somewhere else.
We had a reservation. Fifteen minute wait in a line that combined walk ins and people with reservations. After we gave our name the girl pointed to a man we thought was going to take us to our table. We followed him and discovered he was a customer attending a large group. Walked back to the front and the young lady told us to wait in another line for additional 10 minutes. The young lady was not at all concerned or pleasant when we told her we had been waiting for 25 minutes already.
Disorganized mess! If it were not for our 5 year old grandson we would have left.
Over priced food. We asked if we could substitute salad instead of fries for a “child’s” lunch item and were told it would cost an additional $6.99.
Will NOT return.
