Rainforest Cafe - Chicago Downtown
Such a fun time glad they accommodated my seating request I did when I made the reservation it made the experience so much fun for our friends kids. They had never been there and now want to go back again next weekend.
Amazing place, It was really nice! The food was great ad the service is great
It is what it is—a touristy restaurant. The server was excellent, but front check in person seemed upset by customers and the table was sticky, so it didn’t feel clean.
The bathroom was dirty and smelly. The restaurant smelled as well, we were so uncomfortable with the condition and state of the restaurant, that we decided to leave despite that we had already paid to park.
I would recommend Rainforest Cafe, with warning of rude hosts, poor wait staff (our waitress was amazing but, she had a 30 top on the other side of the restaurant) So clearly not very helpful, but not her fault. This was my son's birthday, yet they brought out a cupcake and sang for a different birthday kid, and not my 5 year old☹️. I put this info on the reservation as well! We came from Kalamazoo Michigan all the way there for this experience. To say the least I was disappointed for my son!
Wish they would have opened up downstairs too. The upstairs was very crowded and noisy. However food was good and service was excellent
We were seated quickly, but after placing our order it took almost 40 minutes to receive our food. Half our party got incorrect orders. We always expect to severely overpay at places like this. With that in mind, the food was just not good. Will definitely pass on going to this rainforest cafe again.
Amazing environment for kids!
A glorified Applebee's food was not good at all the best thing about my plate was the fact it was warm can't see myself return anytime soon unless someone's paying for me to eat there
Great atmosphere for kids. The food is okay at best. Price for the food is expensive
The menu is really over priced for the portion you receive
Won't go back very often. Maybe not at all. I had poor service and they over charge for everything. It's like you're paying the electric bill for them
Fun place for a birthday celebration
This is a wonderful place for children but exciting for adults as well. I would recommend this place for families and adventurous couples of all ages. There was an amazing vibe and calming aura in this establishment & I advise everyone to try it out !
The staff was nice and the kids enjoyed themselves.
Bad food. Very overpriced. Not that I expected a great dining experience but this mediocre food at exorbitant prices is just gouging families.
Food was ok ..great for kids ..family spot need some type of preforming for kids
Great environment for the kids. Food was what I expected for a kid oriented restaurant.
Service is beyond terrible.
Service was great. I have been to the Rainforest Café at the Mall of America and was disappointed. We were on the second level and I was not impressed by the "animals" that they had staged.
The food taste very poor my family and I was expecting a better taste for all the money that we spend
My son loved, loved loved the Rain forest cafe. He said it was even better than its sister restaurant , the T-Rex cafe. Worth every penny and we are a loyal customer now when we return to Chicago
Great experience! Hands down the best restaurant to take children too. Mine had a blast
Food is mediocre and came out in 5 minutes after ordering. That unfortunately is not an exaggeration. That tells me it's 100% microwaved pre-cooked food.
the food is not good or enough for the money you may spend
First visit for our boys 5 and 8 years old. They loved it! Food was good and the volcano dessert was spectacular!
I was there with a 3 and a 5 year old. It was perfect for them. For adults... the Applebee's-caliber food at twice the price is less enthralling. But, those animatronic gorillas ain't gonna pay for themselves.
We are vegetarians and our food has a fried piece of chicken lying between the tortilla chips. The veggie burger tasted horrible. The drinks were atrociously expensive. I will never go back
Food is not worth the prices me n my family wont be returning kids enjoyed the scenery But that was it
Service was terrible. We had a table for four and it quickly filled up with dishes. No one came to remove them so we ended up putting our dirty dishes on the table next to us to make room. That table had piles of dishes sitting on it for nearly the entire tine we were sitting there 45m. The food was just ok an my tuna poke dish was served without any marinade or seasoning. The place itself just looks dated. Nothing has changed for 10yrs including the carpet which looks old, faded, and dirty. Just looks like worst management ever
The food was not very good and very expensive. I asked for a medium burger, I received a dry burnt burger. They did take it off the check. If I had small children, I might just take them for dessert. I was very disappointed.
Other than having a good server the food was horrible my daughter and I both had a meal that had the coconut shrimp on it. Both of our shrimp was way over cooked and hard. My mash potatoes felt like the were trapped in the vortex because they were so cold
The price of the food was very over rated. I got a very small steak with 4 shrimps and a load of mash potatoes. The mash potatoes took over the whole plate for $25 that sucks really bad. I know I got cheated out of my money and the toys and clothes are very expensive also 1 pair of socks for $9 that's not cool at all.
Food was salty and over priced. Would be a fun place to take little ones as long as they don't suffer from sensory disorder. However, if loud noise are a issue place stay away from this place.
Horrible food. Not worth the time. The food was bland and overpriced.
Good time with grandson
I came here to indulge my inner child and my inner child was not disappointed. Anamatronic animals, fake thunderstorm, a two story waterfall and a fake starry sky made for a wonderfully kid-friendly, albeit a bit expensive environment. Everyone in my party was happy with their food, service was great and my server did some magic tricks. After spending the previous evening in a bar, this restaurant didn't seem that loud, but it also was not very busy. I'd imagine at full capacity it'd get quite noisy.
Stopped into Rainforest Cafe before taking my nephew to Paw Patrol Live. I arrived at 3:45pm and checked in for my 4:00 reservation. The hostess said she’d get a table ready and set me just give her 5 minutes. I saw people who didn’t have a reservation who put their name in after me get seated. Around 4:05 I went and asked how much longer as I was in a time crunch. They seemed pretty angry and wouldn’t even make eye contact with me. She said the women upstairs never got back to her. They couldn’t get ahold of them. Finally around 4:15 I asked if I can just walk upstairs and she said yes. When I walked upstairs, there were more open tables than occupied ones. Once we got seated, waited 15 minutes and no waiter or waitress. I had to flag down a manager to ask for one. We ordered right away - and 2 out of the 3 meals were wrong once we received them and due to all the delays we didn’t want to put in our actual order because we’d be late. I came here last year and had a similar experience. It was a poor experience.
Took my wife and kids (4 and 2) to Rainforest Cafe. Not a good experience.
We arrived there a little early for lunch this past Saturday. We had a 1:30pm reservation which we were early for. I checked in with the hostess who told me we would be seated shortly. Well 45 minutes of waiting with 2 toddlers was getting extremely frustrating. The manager had to step in and assist so that we would be seated.
Next was another 40 min wait for our food (Cheeseburger, Taco salad, kids grilled cheese, kids hot dog). Could have gotten a better meal at Applebee’s. Our bill was about $80 (including tip)..no cocktails either. We will not be returning. So bad.
I really wanted to like this because I knew my 3.5 year son was really going to enjoy it, but I don't think that we will go back again. We had a reservation and showed up on time. Unfortunately, we weren't seated for 20 minutes. After being seated, it took 10 minutes for someone to come over and take our order. The waitress was nice as well as the person who delivered the food, but I was already over it at that point. For the price of the meals, it was not worth the monkeys that make noise every 15 minutes.
