Rainbow Room at Lake Powell Resorts and Marinas
With spectacular scenery in a panoramic room, table requests are accepted but not guaranteed.
Food was mediocre. Service was poor. Desserts looked like they were purchased in bulk from Sam's Club. The view of the lake is the only redeeming quality. There are far better options in town.
Very nice scenic view.
Buffet was ok
the view is awesome , service very good and the buffet is above average for a buffet
We have been coming here every few years since this hotel opened. You can't beat the view in the restaurant but we were extremely disappointed that they have decided to turn this into an expensive, terrible buffet. Because of the views and the ambiance, this could be the highlight of any trip (as it has for us on many occasions), but instead it is now a glorified cafeteria. VERY DISAPPOINTED!
The dinner buffet at the Rainbow Room was our favorite meal on our trip. Everything was delicious!
I don’t normally leave posts, but this could not go without saying.
The night we went it was a buffet. The buffet had chicken, fish, and prime rib. The food when we arrive was all gone and I had asked to have it replenished. Once it arrived,The chicken was terrible and dry and the fish was inedible. The prime rib was actually pretty tasty but the rest of the buffet was dismal. For $28, we expected far better than this.
The service was equally terrible.
My assumption is they have a captive audience so they have to do very little. But my recommendation would be to skip the rainbow room and just spend your money at the Starbucks!
Spectacular view overlooking the lake and very pleasant and attentive staff. The night we dined there, the dinner was a buffet. The food was very good except for the lack of a fish option. The two main course options were flank steak and pork, which left the vegetarian at the table with no main course option although there were many appetizer, salad and side dish options as well as a soup option.
You used to be over able to order off a decent menu it was strictly buffet only this time
The buffet offered a good variety of food. The servers were courteous and friendly. The only ding was that the restaurant shares a bar, and pre dinner drinks took about 15 minutes.
Horrible and terrible service, we had to leave and go eating somewhere else!
I thought I was having a good meal there was nothing. I was surprised at first not being able to eat à la carte despite the tunes of a great restaurant that you give yourself. the proposed buffet is a shame as much in the choice as in the quality.
ridiculous appetizers, a single choice of meat or fish, cold and burnt vegetables, unprepared desserts.
I booked this restaurant 3 months before arriving as I heard it could be very crowded. When we got there we were told they had changed the menu to a buffet 2 weeks before. I feel we should have been notified to this change as we would have never eaten here. At that point we had no other options. The food was not good and even though it was a buffet there was limited choices. The view is beautiful but the restaurant is not managed well. Very sad as they could do so much more with this space. Absolutely worse meal of our trip and we were really looking forward to this night. To say we were extremely disappointed would be an understatement. They seem more interested in feeding the large tour buses that come through here than serving quality food. This seems to be the theme for the whole resort.
We were extremely disappointed when we got there and were forced to eat off of the buffet instead of the menu. They have very limited gluten-free options, and were not overly accommodating for the children. We made our reservations weeks in advance to celebrate a very special occasion with a large group and they did not acknowledge it or make it special in any sort of way.
View was spectacular. Food was only okay, not many options for a $26 buffet. Definitely not worth the price.
What a beautiful spot overlooking the lake! What possibilities for a first class restaurant abound. But unfortunately, what one receives is an "okay" buffet. The food was sparse. Only two vegetables were offered, potatoes and brussel sprouts. Only three meat choices, and the quality of the Prime Rib was absolutely poor, mostly fat. Also, the chicken offering was all dark meat. Again, only one type of dinner roll. I will say that the dessert offerings were impressive, very pretty, and delicious. The restaurant seemed to be catering to tourist buses, which usually means: Get em in and get em out quick. It was really disappointing to drive all that way and learn it was a buffet. Open Table needs to specify that this is a buffet.
Beautiful setting and view of the lake. We were under the impression when we made the reservation that this is a sit down restaurant and not a buffet at least for dinner service. Were learned when we arrived that it recently switched. No one informed us. That was a letdown. Food was good, not great. Service was painfully slow.
Restaurant is buffet only now. We ended up asking for the check after having our drinks when we found out there wasn't an a la carte menu. Out waiter was understanding and it was still a wonderful view from the dining area.
I phoned prior and was told they had a menu. Upon arrival they only had a very limited buffet. I do not eat meat and found one rice, one pasta, one soup, salad. and desserts. Nor worth $26. The waitress also complained because the menu limited her tips. Knowing this she still made me ask for drinks and refills. She did inform me that there was a grill available next door but it was packed with families and not comfortable plus had a wait to be seated. I had reserved a table by the window for my 37th anniversary. Even though there were 4 dirty tables I was told I could not have one. Very disappointing anniversary dinner.
Disappointed in the buffet dinner. Although the view was spectacular. Service was fine, but would have preferred a menu service.
For $26 a buffet was offered which included two entrees, pasta, potatoes, vegetables, salad, rolls snd an assortment of desserts plus coffee, tea or soda. The food is as acceptable... steak flavorful but overcooked. My major complaint is not knowing it was only a buffet until arrival. It was not published in any literature I read. So good bang for a buck, but not a big fan of buffets!
We had tried to eat at the Rainbow Room the night before and were asked to make reservations for the next night because it was too busy. Sounded reasonable, so we did.
Next night, we dress up and head for our evening meal.
Now, who knows what is the full story behind the remainder of what we experienced however, since you asked here is what we experienced.
We were told by the waitress that this restaurant is buffet-style ONLY. Okay, no problem. So it was a surprise to us to watch three tables being served dishes not offered on the buffet. Still don't get this discrepancy in treatment of patrons.
The food was buffet food.... moderately warm vs hot or slightly too warm vs cold, as expected for the dish. Buffet choices were very limited. The service was terribly slow and inattentive for any type of restaurant; however, once again....this was a buffet.
Our poor server had to do everything for several tables plus hand serve the the three tables of patrons eating plated dishes not offered on the buffet...mentioned that previously. She worked herself silly..she was responsible for setting and clearing all her tables (6+), she took orders, she refilled drinks..whenever she could..and then we had to get someone out front to go to get the check. The front had two people bringing folks to tables but only appeared to have two waitresses working that night.
Our experience was far better than the table next to us because they were brought in by the greeters and promptly seated at a dirty table and left...yes, left at a dirty table. They ended up having to stand up next to their chairs to get our waitress to clear (& set) their table (this was a 2-step process) and then they had to stand up again to get our waitress to take drink orders. It was an experience.
I will not recommend this and if you have a negative rating, I will choose that. Bad service all around. We went to the place for the view. However, they rather seat you away from the window while there is empty table not occupied. When asked, their excuse is no enough server in that section. The place was half empty on a Saturday night holiday weekend. Food was also bad, buffet style, all dried up or over cook and charge $26 per person, not including drink. You are better off just going outside of the Resort by the water, free of charge, to see sunset...
We enjoyed a delicious dinner and a fantastic view.
The hummus was delicious.
It’s a restaurant with a million dollar view complete with a queue for the buffet line. We were very disappointed to see that the menu was gone. It’s all buffet. Seriously.
I didn’t realize a place with that million dollar room, serving people from all over the world, would serve a (buffet...!) and miss the opportunity to at least give people the choice of a few freshly cooked dishes...vs cafeteria style.
Buffet only. No menu. Not bad but....
Dinner with old friends!
Booked here for an evening meal whilst staying in the resort expecting an a la carte menu and table service. Instead we were offered a buffet that had very little choice - only two main courses, one meat, one fish. Food was not very appetizing or very warm. Also odd was that coach parties in the same restaurant had a totally different menu and were being served at the table.
View was spectacular. Buffet was awful. They have a menu on line which they no longer honor.
We felt the dinner buffet was well presented and tasty. $26 per person seemed a good value for the quality of food and selection, especially when you consider the location. Service was great. Would definitely dine there again if in the area.
Beautiful view, fantastic food, and great service.
We were in Page, AZ for our daughter’s birthday. She wanted to visit Antelope Canyon. Why would you eat anywhere else but the Rainbow Room. The view is breathtakingly gorgeous. Isn’t that why you are here? The food is good. The price is reasonable. Let’s be real it’s the view that’s amazing. A very relaxing beautiful dining experience. I will eat every meal here. It’s stunning. I honestly think bad reviews are from local businesses trying to survive. There’s no competing against this view.
We went for a birthday dinner. Even though we saw other tables celebrating birthdays, ours was not recognized whatsoever. No birthday song nor dessert. The waitress was rushing us through our meal and we were forced to choose the Buffet. Overall the cost for the service and food was way overpriced. I am recommending people to not ever go to this place.
The view is outstanding, but unfortunately this restaurant no longer offers menu ( a la cart) service and now has buffet only. They are catering to the bus tours that stay at the hotel and/or pass through there. The buffet was barely passable - very small, not many choices, long lines and so-so food. You would expect more from a restaurant that has such a nice view. It was much better when they served food off of a menu. The buffet is subpar.
Very ordinary ..was NOT expecting a buffet as a fine dining experience.
Also OpenTable was not accurate with available times. We asked for a table at 6 in person when the website there were no tables available for 2 hrs!! Not accurate!!!
I looked at the menu before booking a reservation and I could see that I had options (food allergies) and this place was highly recommended. Once we arrived, it was very clean, but it took about 15 min to get a server and we ordered drinks and asked about the menu. They said they didn't have one, they had gone to a buffet style dinner that was $26 per person, which they didn't tell me when I called to make reservations the week before. I looked at the buffet and the only option I had was to make a simple salad, so $26 was out of the question and my family does not like fish or brisket. The buffet was very limited with only a few sides, bread, fish and brisket. We left and had to settle for fast food because it was after 8 and we had to drive back to Page and it was too late to make reservations . somewhere else.
Very nice buffet offering chicken, beef and fish as main courses. Lovely view of the lake. Exceptional and friendly service. Make a reservation. I recommend eating here.
Food was really good- we had the buffet which had great prime rib and tallapia. Salads were good and cupcakes were amazing. Would have preferred to order from the menu but that wasn't available. Food was on the high price side.
Perfect location for a scenic view of Lake Powell. Dinner is now served buffet style for $ 26 but selection is good and quality very good. Limited desert availability.
