Food was, as usual, very good. However $36 for three stuffed shrimp, some angel hair and three asparagus is really exorbitant. A 16oz veal porterhouse with mushroom truffle topping, fried asparagus and pasta was only $6 more. We emerged saying when we return we need to think about ordering something more basic like veal or chicken parm because $160 for two people is like eating in a fine dining establishment in Manhattan. But without any alcohol.
A completely enjoyable experience. Amazing food and presentation.
Food was outstanding! Portions were huge. Service was excellent!
The food was excellent especially the eggplant appetizer that’s on the menu
Food is always perfect...our server Linda was perfect!
OK, better values at other places. Had some hiccups with the service and food quality.
10 out of 10 from start to finish. Our absolute favorite place on LBI. From hostess Emily, to server Heather tonight to owner Erika we are always impressed with the consistent experience start to finish .
Great food. Ample portions. Nice atmosphere.
I had the pork chop which I would never normally order at a restaurant and it was out of this world. My husband had the veal chop and said it was the best dinner he has ever had.
We went to Raimondo’s for our wedding anniversary, having been there in the past and really enjoyed it. We were seated immediately at a table near a window, which was nice. There was a large group behind us and a few of the members of the group spoke somewhat continuously and in loud voices. I wasn’t exactly sure what to do about that so we just spoke to each other in quiet tones.
Our waitress was young but knew what she was doing. She was attentive, gave us enough time to review the menu and didn’t hover. She explained the specials of the day and the Chilean Sea Bass caught my husband’s interest. I was so surprised to hear that the entree was $44.95! That seemed a little over top to me, as most of their other entrees were $29-35 each. It sounded wonderful and he decided to go ahead and order it. The sea bass and risotto did not disappoint; he enjoyed every bite! I ordered the Scallops and Risotto and also enjoyed it.
We also ordered the special hot appetizer, which included fried calamari, spedini, and artichoke hearts in a lemon caper sauce. This appetizer was $24.95 and intended for two. The artichoke hearts were wonderful but there were only two of them. The rest of the plate was filled with several spedini (a fried mozzarella with prosciutto and eggplant nugget) and mostly calamari. Sadly, the calamari was not tender and seemed overcooked. We sent most of it back to the kitchen, with our explanation. The waitress was kind enough to remove $5 from our bill for the dissatisfaction with it.
Overall, it was not a bad experience as our entrees were so good. But starting off with that appetizer swayed my experience for the evening. Given the vast number of wonderful restaurants on LBI, it probably will be a while before we go back to Raimondo’s.
The food and the service are excellent.
some interesting Italian plates - both appetizers and entrees. Some of the entrees are a bit pricey but then again the peak season is only 10 to 12 weeks down there so they have to make it when they can. that being said the quality and the portions were very satisfying it's nice having leftovers at an upscale restaurant Rich our server - we have had him before over the years. he says he's been there 20 years now and he is quite efficient and friendly. The ambiance and decor are warm and friendly. Being able to BYOB is a plus.
Three dinners and one appetizer to share. All were perfect!
Food wasn’t as great as I remembered it woth the previous owners. Additionally, prices were high. I don’t mind paying, but if I am I expect excellent everything- food, service, ambiance, etc and to me everything was just “ok”
We love driving to the island to go to Raimondo’s. The waiters know their stuff! The food is always excellent. Thank you Raimondo’s for a lovely evening.
We have been patrons of Raimondos’s for many years. Last night we had an unfortunate experience. Although the food was good as always, the service was very poor. We had to ask for bread 25 minutes after we were seated. The entrees took over an hour and twenty five minutes to arrive. Our daughter had to pick up a friend and barely touched her meal! Our server disappeared into the kitchen for long intervals as well. We paid in cash so we didn’t have to wait another twenty minutes for that transaction. All of the diners around us expressed their dissatisfaction as well. It appears to have been a kitchen issue, but the waitress should have kept us apprised. Disappointing!
Great place, great food! Would go back and would recommend
We make an annual visit-it’s always delicious- this time we were seated in the closed patio- not my favorite- service was not ideal- waters not filled - no bread with dinner- I will request inside next time- we felt a bit forgotten. Food was excellent but we missed the service.
maybe the worst service we have ever experienced . The waitress took our order and we never saw her again. The appetizer was wrong but we could not get anybody's attention to correct it and then our main course showed up which was cold . Once again we tried to find our waitress to correct it but she just totally ignored us . This is the first time i have ever written a bad review normally we just shrug it off and say we just won't return . But this was soooo bad i just had to share
We had a pleasant dining experience here. This is not a noisy restaurant. Traditional Italian fare restaurant. Portions are big. Food is excellent. Dining time is very long. The decor is unremarkable. Music is nice. I think the partition wall in the front needs an electric fireplace (no heat) or waterfall in the middle visible from both sides to give the wall interest. If you are in the mood for Italian this is a very good choice. It’s byob. Make reservations to get a desirable seating time.
Raimondo's continue's to be the best dining experience on the island. Food was fantastic. The service was great - they didn't rush us and checked in with us several times to see if we needed anything . We have been here many times and will continue to come here many more!
Not worth the visit
Excellent restaurant , food amazing and service spot on !! My favorite in lbi and recommend it highly ! Trying to go back again this evening !
All of our dishes were wonderful...fried eggplant with burretta, pork chop, sea food ravioli
Chilean Sea Bass was exceptional!
While the menu had a lot of cheese and sauces on food they were super accommodating to put entrees over vegetables to make it lighter- had superb soft shell crabs Francese over spinach. Meatball appetizer ( a meal in and of themselves) and the standard by which all Italian food is judged were - delicious as was the sauce - too fulll for desserts but we will be back.
We love the food at Raimondos. We are so disappointed that the last few times we have been there were very disappointing. Ever since the new owners took over, it seems as though they can't seem to coordinate the kitchen getting food out in a timely manner. There is a very long time between courses which makes a dinner that should only take an hour and a 1/2 turn into 3 hours. Sometimes I just think they don't have enough servers. Our last visit ended up with us leaving because after being seated, no one came to our table for 15 minutes with water or to open our wine. As I said. we do love the food. I just wish they could figure out how to make the whole thing work.
Great menu, outstanding service and always consistent!
Great food as always. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared. Wait staff has a true knowledge of food and they are very attentive! I would highly recommend!!
The food was delicious, but our server had a difficult night. We had to wait about 20 minutes before we got bread; we asked 3x before our wine was opened. We waited a long time before we got the check. All of t this affected our evening.
Food is consistently delicious and service was excellent. I would highly recommend Raimondo’s
Great food, we reserved for 4 and brought an unanticipated 5th person and they accommodated us with an extra table and a smile. Definitely recommend.
Food was delicious,my wife and I shared a Shrimp cocktail and we both had the pork chop for entrees. The only slight complaint was shrimp was not chilled and a bit pricey
Usually the food is excellent, we were a little disappointed..my flounder looked beautiful, but had no taste..also, my husband was disappointed in the Halibut special as well.
We have visited Russo’s Italian next door various times and decided to give Raimondo’s a try for a change. 5 pm reservation was easy to get. The prices seemed quite steep but kind of expected for a shore town with seasonal service.
The service was fair. Appetizers portions were large but the mussels dish was flavorless and the octopus dish needed a lot of salt, pepper and lemon. The entree fillet portion was large. Fillet cooked well. Nothing to write home about and the pork chop was flavorful (I believe it was marinated in a brine) and probably the best of all the food we ordered.
Considering the price, ambiance and flavors of the food I don’t think I would return.
Food was excellent. Definitely worth the price. Only downside is having a 7.30 reservation and getting seated at 7.55
Nearly 25 years ago my now wife and I enjoyed our first date at Raimondo's on LBI. We have been back every year while spending summers on LBI. Our experience this past week was as good as all previous visits. Our eggplant appetizer was prepared gluten free for my wife and we were not disappointed. Oysters on the half shell were also very fresh and great start of the meal. I enjoyed the Veal Chop (special that night) which was tender enough to cut with a butter knife. The risotto was also perfectly done. My wife had the Scallop dish that was out of this world. I always love a BYOB restaurant to enjoy your favorite bottle as we did but they now have local vineyard wine that they sell in the restaurant just in case you forgot. The service was spectacular and although slightly crowded, we didn't wait long for any of our courses. Highly recommend and you never know...Maybe you too will enjoy 24 years together as we have after your first date at Raimondo's. Cheers!
Great meal from start to end. Exceptional Service, well paced and each item was delicious.
Ask for Rich to be your waiter. He’s great. Explains the menu and specials so you are sure to have a great dining experience
Best place on LBI . Must Go ...BYOY
Food along with the service was outstanding. Took our company there and they stated they want to go back when they come to visit us again
