   Our dinners at the Raices Restaurant and Bar are always delicious , the wait staff always makes you feel special, the drinks are delicious and they can easily change the menu to suit your individual tastes and or dietary restrictions. You will enjoy your evening immensely.

   We are so glad we found this place. A bit off the beaten path, it’s a beautiful restaurant surrounded (built into?) a huge old tree. Raices translates to “roots” which is evident by the large tree root under a glass floor that welcomes you into the restaurant, and also the Mexican roots that you can feel throughout the menu. The service was gracious and attentive, and the food was amazing. Standouts were the ceviche of a local scallop, the “smoke” hibiscus margarita, and the lavender passion fruit ice cream pavlova dessert. You will not be disappointed!

   I had one of the worst meals of my life in this restaurant. Here is the back story. I am a world traveler and have been to hundreds of top restaurants in the past 20 years. I have never written a bad review in 10 years. I went to this restaurant because of the star rating. I noticed that dozens of restaurants in Puerto Vallarta have 4.7-4.9 rating, so I was wary. I've never seen this many great reviews in any city. I believe that many of these restaurants must have artificially inflated star ratings. Service was very good: Food: Ceviche: We got the ceviche, and it was unexpectedly terrible. It had flavors that seemed off and it was one of the few times that I got a dish that was inedible. I had to send it back. Large Ravioli with short rib meat: This entree was dry and terrible. It was small at about 5"x4". It was weird because the ravioli had been heated in the oven which made it crispy on top and very dry. It also kind of fanned out on top to give it height. The short rib inside was not seasoned at all and very dry. Ravioli and the meat should never be dry. I've never seen a baked ravioli before, but it didn't work. People expect a ravioli to be moist pasta with savory meat inside. That's the way this should have been cooked. The pasta should not have been baked. The rib meat should have been seasoned and included other items like shallots and a light sauce or something. Noisette Potatoes: They were described as being cooked in duck fat to make them delicious. These were the worst Noisette Potatoes I have ever had. We received a 6" plate of about 12 balls about 3/4" in diameter. I love Noisette Potatoes, but I have never seen them in ball form. Like the Ravioli this experiment didn't work. The balls were unbelievably dry because they had been frozen and then thawed and warmed. They were not seasoned, and I couldn't taste any rich fat. Cauliflower: This was the only delicious item. It was seasoned and moist and wonderful.

   This restaurant is phenomenal! From the service, the ambience and the utterly mouth watering food, you can’t go wrong. All the entrees are delicious and don’t miss the grilled Caesar salad. We’ve been twice and know we’ll be back several more times before our time in PV is over.

   Overall great expirience! Food was great from entrees to dessert. My only recommendation is the serving time for main courses to be quicker. But would recommend!

   Without a doubt, the best dining experience we had during our 2 month stay in Puerto Vallarta this season. Our only regret is that we didn't stumble upon it earlier in our stay so that we could have returned. It will be on the very top of our list for next season.

    Unique menu relaxing and cool atmosphere with a back garden room. What’s nice here is the food wasn’t drowned in sauce like some of the other creative classed restaurants do. The tuna entree was very good. Great desserts. My date loved the sweet breads which is a rare dish to find. We may go back another time this trip
