I was expecting amazing Indian food as this place is the sister restaurant to Adda. However, the food was disappointing. Everything was bland and nothing stood out. The price was also pretty pricey given the portion of the dishes and quality.
Food is a modern take on Indian cuisine while still staying faithful to tradition. If you want more traditional dishes (but still done with a nice twist), you can ask for them “off menu”. Nice place to take a date. I highly recommend it as a “foodie” place.
The $29 brunch prix fixe (appetizer + entree + rice or naan) is a great deal: two would have been enough for the three of us. We ordered the dahi chili paneer, edamame artichoke chaat, squash bharta, spaghetti squash kofta, wild mushroom and truffle khichdi, garlic naan, and booti wali naan (made with lavender and za'atar). Every dish was excellent (though very rich). Each has its own twist: for example, the kofta have a tiny bit of goat cheese in the sauce, which helps cut the richness.
Simply my favorite Indian restaurant anywhere. Chickpea appetizer a standout.
Rahi is always a fantastic dining experience in NYC. The staff are so incredibly kind and the food is absolutely delicious each and every time. It’s remains a favorite for us and we continue to go back time and time again even with so many options in the city because the quality is excellent and the staff really make it a special night each time. We appreciate their kindness and dedication.
Been here frequently and love this place but for some reason this time it was weird. The food was extremely spicy - I literally order the same dish every time. The waitress was forcing a smile to be nice but wasn’t too keen on service. Didn’t apologize for the unusually insane spicy food. I think there was an assumption made that we eat spicy food. I had to ask her to get me some yogurt to help calm down. No attempt made to rectify the situation even when I told her a few times about how crazy spicy the food was. Somehow the place wasn’t clicking or something was off.
Fabulous Food and Exceptional Service
Best Indian food recently!!!
Very much enjoyed the food. We had a 7:30 reservation and the place did get progressively noisier as the evening went on.
Very good food, the breads were just a bit warm - we prefer them hot.
The food was incredible, a little bit on the spicy side, but very delicious. Ordered the koftas- were incredible. The tikkis were ok, wouldn’t order. Overal, great food but on the pricier side.
We had a family birthday dinner.. here. The food was excellent and service was good. Will definitely return. We passed on desert, but without request, they gave us a free mini cake/candle!
A delightful restaurant, wonderfully seasoned, unusual dishes. The service was also Argentine and lovely.
Bold flavors, creative combinations, generous portions.
There is a dish for everyone- from very mild to spicy.
Definitely try the banana leaf chicken, total crowd pleaser and I get it every time I go there.
If we lived in NY, we'd be eating here much too often. It's sort of spoiled us for other Indian food.
One of my favorite new restaurants in Manhattan, and some of the best Indian food I've had in New York. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Dishes were inventive but comforting. The squid ink octopus, mango cod, and duck breast were all phenomenal. Skip dessert (not memorable) and try more apps/mains instead!
I left a review the other day saying how fantastic the food is, but AGAIN, my entree came while we were still enjoying our starters. I've eaten there twice in one week so it's worth going, but please, please take some time in between courses! For an expensive and unbelievably tasty meal you do not want to feel rushed.
Very good, the good excelente
The food here is amazing. Very innovative and tasty. However, nothing was particularly hot, and the entrees came out while we were still enjoying our appetizers. This is my #1 pet peeve when eating out. If you see people eating, don't bring the rest of the food! It's pretty simple stuff. I will be back though, because the food overtakes the other issues! I can always tell them to hold off on the next course.
This place is much too expensive. Plus you have to pay for bread and rice etc. If you go to 6th Street you can get a fabulous meal with all the extras for a small fraction of this price.
Loved the fusion Kichdi and the amul toast. The service was great and the owner personally came and talked to us. Very warm and friendly.
The entire experience was phenomenal. Highly recommend the banana leaf chicken!
Fantastic place! My girlfriend and I were skeptical of “modern Indian cuisine” but were pleasantly surprised! GREAT food and fantastic cocktails. Will definitely add this to our list of regulars.
Definitely hip for Indian food-all excellent to this almost Vegan person-amazing artichoke appetizer all sauces were killin’
This is not your average Indian restaurant! No heavy cream sauces! Truly a fabulous adventure in eating. Make sure to go with lots of people as there is so much to enjoy.
Loved everything about Rahi. Amazing food and the drinks were great.
I’ve been to this place a few times! Their spaghetti squash kofta is amazing as well as their paneer and goat curry!
Food, drinks, service and ambiance were all fabulous!
It was our wedding anniversary. Took a long time for our reserved table to open up, but they made it right by buying us a round of Prosecco.
Excellent service, ambiance, and food was very creative and tasty.
The food, staff, and ambiance is great here. I love how comfortable it feels and the flavor of the food excites your senses. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
This place brought a change of air. A different expression towards Indian food.
A must try.
I really enjoyed the food and the service. The ambience was very inviting and cozy. The waitress was very sweet. I loved the branzino, duck, basmati rice, and naam bread!
Overall a terrible experience. We were there with our seven year old who thankfully didn’t eat anything as the food was too spicy for her. I had to suffer two days after eating their food that was terribly spiced and oily. Please save your money on this overpriced place. Also avoid the cocktails at all cost.
Not your everyday Indian food. The wait staff was helpful and attentive. Everything had a bit of a kick. Some more than others. The only downside was desert was nothing special.
Very disappointed. Food was not good.
Food was less than expected.
Terrible terrible food ..we gave the feedback to the owner tooo. They have messed up the valentine day experience with the menu ...choice and food was tasting pathetic ....lacks zero finesse
It was wow, have been there before and this place never disappointments rather it feels really amazing, the food quality, staff, ambience. We love this place. MUST VISIT place.
