What better way to enjoy Thursday evenings with friends than to head upstairs to the restaurant for two for one steaks and a bottle of red... or two.

They forgot one of our mains, didn’t keep us informed, didn’t offer a solution and so we ended up sharing mains-They then didn’t discount the bill

Ordered the rib eye steak and was disappointed. Steak was cooked okay - but sauce was minimal and flavourless, chips looked / tasted like frozen supermarket brand, dish had little effort for presentation. Most disappointed was the red wine jus.

Escaping the Friday night madness of the downstairs bars and up into the Anchor Room restaurant was much more pleasant. Food was good - a daily special lamb ragu and pasta for me - very good and a big serve, a rib eye fillet for my wife - cooked to perfection - not easy to rare side of medium rare to her satisfaction. For dietary reasons a white wine- Pikes Pinot Grigio- went down well. Service was pleasant and friendly. An enjoyable meal.

Good high quality food in the upstairs restaurant. The service was good and the room had a nautical theme. Ground floor is the bar and bar food.

It would depend. Definitely not on a HOT day like Friday. It was so humid and the doors to outside were open and so as a result the aircon had zero impact. Assuming there is aircon of course. If not - please put some in and close the balcony doors in intense weather. Food and atmosphere otherwise were lovely. Good service.
