Rafain Brazilian Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
I have been to Rafain's before and it was wonderful. That was not the experience this time. The service was very slow, the meats came far apart and very few times, and, even though I had a reservation, I had to wait for 30 minutes before my party was seated (which was disappointing as my husband had to rush because he was on his lunch break). I waited at least ten minutes between each visit to the table with a cut of meat and we ended up only being offered 6 or 7 different cuts. Also, my water was empty for at least 2/3 of my visit while a table near mine was being refilled every time their glasses were half full. Overall, this was the most disappointing visit to one of my favorite restaurants.
The food was quite good with the usual selection of freshly roasted meats and outstanding salad bar that you would expect from a Brazilian Churrascaria Steakhouse. Valet parking was available and the ambience was nice. We were celebrating a birthday, which we noted on the online reservation, but no mention was made of it by the staff. Service was quite slow and inattentive. We had to request that dirty dishes were removed. One or two cuts of meat were regularly offered but we had to request the nicer cuts such as filet mignon or lamb. We ordered a bottle of wine from the menu, it was unavailable, so we were offered a considerable upgrade which was very nice and appreciated. Overall, I would return again.
Everything was good except for the hosts. I told her we had a resversation at 6:00pm. She said it will only a couple of minutes. Then there were people after us that came in the restaurant. She sat them before us and one didn’t even have a reservation. She then looked at me and asked what was your name for the reservation? I was highly disappointed that I wasn’t seated right away and that she forgot all about us. We were seated 20 minutes later and the place wasn’t even busy. I’m sure on my ticket it said we were celebrating a reservation. My boyfriend was mad , I was upset. It was the host with long hair and a little short chubby. It seems like she didn’t know what she was doing.
Absolutely horrible food. Asked the servers to bring out medium done meats and they just laughed and ignored us. Finally at the end they brought out charred overly well done meat at which point I just gave up on trying to get anything there. NEVER GOING BACK.
Service was not very good. We had to ask for clean plates. Then had to ask for drink refills. Then had to ask for meat to be served in our area. Then had to ask twice for our check. All of these were done by flagging down someone other than our waiter. The food and ambiance was great, but we had to work harder than our server. Will not be back.
We were disappointed with the attentiveness of the staff. We needed to complain a few times and make several requests for the same items. The service was slow. By the end of our dining the service was better. Also, we needed to ask about the roasted pineapple. If we didn’t know about it, we might not have gotten it. Same for the fried plantains. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
Horrible experience!! You would think because it was New Years Eve they would be prepared. But they never came around our table to offer anything .. no drinks.. NO MEAT...or simply if we were doing ok. We sat there hungry!!!.. 50 minutes went by and only ONE person with some pineapples came by. Will not be going back.
Nice alternative to the Fogo De Chao and Texas De Brazil chains. Well stocked salad bar and sides (dirty rice, mashed potatoes, new potatoes).
I think they had 15 or so different meats going around - their speciality is top sirloin, which was great, but we all liked the lamb and the spicy sirloin. They also have a grilled pineapple that's rubbed in cinnamon and brown sugar, then rotisseried - great palate cleanser between the meats,
After all the meats, we still went to dessert bar which had some tasty flans (coconut).
Great service - they're always filling waters, checking in, refreshing plates, etc. Decent priced South American wines. Turned out we went on a special night, so with a bottle of wine and a couple of drinks, it was about $200 before tip for four of us.
Our reservation for 3 was at 6:00 pm before the restaurant began to get busy. We were seated immediately and were shocked where the table was that they seated us at. We were seated in the northeast corner of the large dinning area just up the stairs from the salad bar. We felt like we were being seated in the wait staff prep area. My husband commented to the young lady that seated us...."Are we being seated in the kitchen?" She either did not hear him or ignored him. At the time we were seated there was only 3 maybe 4 other tables in the large dinning room that had guests. When we finished our meal & left it was about 8:00 pm. At that time the dinning room at Rafain had began to fill up but still had several empty tables. I was setting with my back to the wait station and could view the whole dinning area, at no time during our 2 hours at Rafain did all tables have guests, in fact they always had several tables open. I will definitely be going to Fogo de Chao next time. We have never had a bad experience there.
Both my husband and I enjoyed our dinner there. Variety of the food from salad bar and meat and barbeque choices were great. It is the only place that would give you variety of tasty deserts next to the salad bar that you don't need to order a separate dessert. Over all it was great and would come back here to celebrate our spacial occasions.
Our family have been a customer for few years. We like to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries for lunch or dinner. We like the buffet and the meat; although, prices are higher than a chain restaurant, it is worth. Food and service are excellent for the price.
I made an reservation via Opentable for 2pm several days before going. The afternoon before my reservation I received a call from the hostess stating they close at 2pm. Why would the webpage allow me to pick a time that is not valid? I had to change plans with work in order to accommodate this change at the last minute.
My family came for lunch during the Christmas holidays on a specially price meal offer. We were very happy with our experience. The staff were friendly and attentive. We never felt hurried. The food bar and meats were all great. The coconut and pineapple flan was wonderful. We would love to come again!
Intial waiter was good. Other service people not so good. Disorganized. Slooow. Left waiting too long especially when hungry. Never saw the filet mignon. Felt RUSHED TO GET OUT. Last waitress never asked if we were ready to leave or done. Just cleared the table without word expecting us to leave. Overall experience was POOR from when we first visited some time ago. Seems like restaurant is in decline. Totally NOT WORTH THE COST and we had a large party as well. Emailed restaurant in regards to the visit and have yet to get a response. Our special celebration was a bust.
Waiter took forever to open our wine. Did not leave it in a cooling bucket for us. We had to get our own clean plates from the salad bar because waiter did not clear our salad plates in preparation for entrees. Waited almost 10 minutes for gaucho to bring meat after we turned our cards over to green. Had to ask for water. Had to ask for bread. Waiter finally cleared our salad plates when we were almost done. The only reason I am not giving the lowest possible score for service is because another waiter treated us to some papaya frozen dessert. It was nice but not a holiday dessert. So disappointed in our meal that night.
Our favorite Brazilian steakhouse ... Friday night was superb ... Good as ever. We had almost given up on Rafain ... previous two visits we felt rushed by staff, meats were not cooked right (looked only seared, not cooked), and just did not taste $55.00 dollars special. Friday's visit renewed our confidence. We will be back.
Food taste and quality is always good, we been here many years. It did seem we got fewer and smaller meat portions this time. We did notice less desserts in the salad bar area as well. Most of the staff was excellent and always prompt to our needs. Unfortunately this time we didn't get our usual complimentary anniversary dessert.
Worst experience of our life. Typically Refains is amazing, awesome food, awesome service, awesome staff. That was not the case this last time. The staff was horrible, kept teyig to clear plates a.d items as we werw eating and using them. Waited the entire meal for refills. The receipt was wrong, needed to have it corrected. After we left they called us and had questions about our payment. The waiter and staff was awful.
The food was good not great , the service however was poor. More than once we sat there with empty plates hoping for someone to walk bye. Some meat was over cooked and burnt on the outside. Probably explains why the Fort Worth location closed. There are several restaurants with the same concept I would opt for one of those before I come back here.
