Rae’s on the Beach
I would recommend, but if you have a better alternate you can consider it.
Made a reservation and they wouldn’t seat us. We were told we had to dine at they’re pool bar rather than in the air conditioned at the restaurant we booked
We ate here on our last night at the Pink Shell. My wife and I had the fish of the day which was snapper. It was very good and fresh. Good portions size. My daughter got fried shrimp. Service was prompt. I also had the shrimp cocktail which was 8 medium to large size shrimp. Could have split the appetizer.
Service was good. Menu is a little limited but several fish choices and a steak option.
Restaurant is not big so I would recommend getting a reservation. They had three large parties with reservations 8-14 people each so that only left about space for 12-16 people.(4 tables).
Wasnt a fan...service was awful. Valet made us pay $25 when it took over 2 hours at the restaurant! Wasnt our fault food and service was unbelievably slow. Nice spot overlooking the beach but the restaurant needs to get there stuff together.
It took longer than it should to receive service and then to get our drinks. We thought the menu was a bit limited and had hoped for a nice indoor bar area for a pre dinner drink. No indoor bar. We had enjoyed a dinner when it was the farm to table dining on the other side of the building. That was 2 years ago. Overall, Rae's was ok but we had other expectations considering it is in the Pink Shell Resort.
Excellent service, good food but portions were small.
It was okay. We flew in from Pittsburgh and had a reservation and got there exactly on time. The hostess was off somewhere and the waitress who was seating us didn’t know how to use the reservation pad. We were seated in a good spot for the sunset. The waitress was good. The liter of margaritas was a great deal, but they were very sweet. The food was okay but not great and definitely not large portions- okay portions. For the price and setting I would have expected a bit better, but it was a great place to watch the sunset and the service was pretty good. And food was good, but nothing special.
Food was delicious
Nice restaurant but they need shades or blinds to block the intense sun & heat coming in the windows in afternoon.
My wife and I went to Rae's fro our anniversary. The view is very nice. One of the best. The place was clean. Table settings very nice. We had two appetizers that were very good. Our server was exceptionally pleasant. We both ordered Mahi. One was the special (mine) the other was the daily prepare as you like with two sides. My wife liked hers. My Mahi was overcooked, the broccolini was so chewy that I could eat and the "crab dressing" was incredibly salty so it did not pair well with the Mahi....in my opinion. We will go again for the view.....I'll try another meal next time. If it's poor we'll cross the place off our list. Not terribly expensive but mine was worth zero. I'm not a complainer so I ate some of it and didn't say anything.
The dining room doesn’t open until 5. Our reservation wound up being at Bongo’s. Not a great menu compared to what should have been at Rae’s.
Was hoping for better more upscale food offerings
Server was great
Nothing too major to complain about. It took a while to get bread. Also asked for sweet tea, received unsweetened with sugar packets. Should have told us that do not have sweetened tea, and would have to sweeten it ourselves.
Beautiful views, will go to dinner again at this wonderful place!
Even though we had made a reservation, when we got to the entrance no one was there. It took a while for some one to sit us. After that things were quiet good.
The tables are too small.
The room is cafeteria like
The music was not suited for dining.
Wait staff seemed to be lacking appropriate training.
I was pleased that we could order from the Bongo's menu. Rae's menu was very limited and too expensive.
My husband and I came to Rae’s for a post Valentine dinner. We thought it would be nice dining with a nice view. We didn’t realize it was an indoor restaurant so that was disappointing. Although there were floor to ceiling windows so you could see out, it wasn’t what I expected. The food was excellent and our server was great as well, very attentive. The restaurant itself was small and very plain, almost had a cafeteria feel. We had a table right by the window so did appreciate the nice view.
Food was much better than I had expected from a beach front restaurant within a hotel. The server was helpful, knowledgeable and was happy to discuss the area with us.
It is not fine dining as there are no tablecloths etc: however this cannot be expected and the prices were good value and reflected that. There is free, with tip of course, valet parking when you use the restaurant.
Omg!!! It was horrible! We had a reservation. We stood for about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us then he says those folks are ahead of you. Finally got to our table. Sat for 15 minutes before anyone came over to take drink order. We also were not given menus when we were seated. Finally someone came over and took drink order. Then we sat another 15 minutes and no drinks arrived. Meanwhile two other tables that came in after us had drinks and bread. Bye Bye. Definitely understaffed. Not returning.
Funny story... we made this reservation for 2pm on Christmas Day, and the restaurant doesn’t open until evening. However, the restaurant manager Mark was very happy to accommodate us! He and server Jonathan made sure our every need was met. The view is incredible, and the food was delicious. We had a lovely lunch.
