My reservation was approved through OpenTable, but Radiator was actually closed when my party and I arrived, so we had to scramble to find another location for our celebration. Really disappointing.
Restuarant was closed.
This was our second year having breakfast at Radiator on Thanksgiving. They are always wonderful despite the holiday. The food is always delicious. The restaurant is always gorgeous. Thanks!
I would only recommend to a friend for the food, the food was great but they seemed to bring out more of the food than they did the "bottomless drinks", we came for both and were slightly disappointed in the drink part of the bottomless... They offered bottomless mimosas and it seemed like were giving us less and less champagne every glass... and we only had 3 mimosas each (a group of 5). If you're going to offer bottomless, at least be prepared. We had to ask them to put more champagne in our glasses because it was 95% orange juice.
We ordered our drinks and apps. We never received them after waiting for almost 25-30mins. We saw the bartender texting and talking to people at the bar. After we saw two other tables get up and leave without getting their orders we left too. It was a horrible service.
Food was mediocre, undercooked lamb and underdressed salad. OK charcuterie as appetizer but that took 20 minutes to get to the table.
Had a fantastic time on a date night, Anne took great care of us. Super kind, knowledgeable, and friendly.
Only one suggestion: Get the burger. It is amazing
It’s lovely to find a place to sit outside in this area of the city. There’s lots of space and you are away from the street traffic. Perfect pre-theater spot for The Studio Theater!
Bottomless brunch was amazing and a great value. Service was on point!
The wait staff kept us waiting all night for drinks & food. Then when the food came out one person didn’t get their meal and we waited another 30 minutes.
While the wait staff was lovely, they were too thinly spread, so service was sporadic. I have no idea what was going on in the kitchen but it took over an hour to bring us our food and then when one entrée arrived it was barely cooked and had to be sent back. I ordered a glass of rosé and they said they were all out… During the summer in DC that is basically like being out of water.
The service (our waitress) was so bad that we left after drinks and appetizers.
Weird restaurant, almost empty. Entrees are small, overly salted, and overpriced. Ambiance is almost non-existent. Restaurant has a strange vibe. Servers are friendly but it’s not that professional. Outdoor patio isn’t bad. This place doesn’t quite make it.
Came with a couple of friends, the food was quite good, especially the octopus, croquettes and scallops. Service was interesting, overall we had a good experience.
Horrible terrible service food is sub par.
A nice little tucked-away place with a quiet patio space, but nothing particularly stands out as unique or exemplary. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was good but not special. Drinks were just ok.
Extremely slow. Brought out entrees at random times, not altogether. Avoid this place.
Excellent service and delicious food. Bartender made a special request drink perfectly and when we didn’t care for one of the dishes, the server happily exchanged it for another that was much better. Excellent experience all around!
The hostess was very attentive we were sat immediately. However the waitstaff was very slow to bring water and table set up . I had to ask another waiter after 20 minutes of still not getting my coffee (after asking my waitress twice ) . The food made up for the lack of waitstaff experience. My husbands Huevros Rancheros was very nice and my breakfast taco were delicious. The staff also took over an hour to clear tables of dirty dishes the restaurant was less then half full . Overall I would try Radiator again hopefully the waitstaff will be more attentive next time ..
Worst dining experience ever. Server was beyond rude. Had to ask for drinks several times. Water was served in dirty brown streaked carafe. Only received two items out of 6 and saw people receiving food and drinks that came in up to 1 hr after us. Will never go here again or recommend this place. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else In dc for brunch and service. This place should close.
Awful service. Food was pretty good, but you can get better food for better service at so many other places in DC. Not heading back anytime soon.
Poor service. Poor food. Poor drinks. Poor evening overall.
The food is quite good, but the ambiance is not what we were hoping for. It is clearly a hotel restaurant, which is not what we expected. A fine choice, but there are better options.
What you've read is true -- the service is slow. But if you sit outside and get your drink order in early, it's worth the wait. The "Burger, Beer, and a Shot" was the winning combo at our table with thumbs up on all three elements. The main courses were good but smaller than expected. Pro tip: skip the sugar and get the lavender infused vodka with simply tonic or soda instead of the "recommended" cocktail.
Upscale, yet cozy and comfortable restaurant. The service and the knowledge of the entrees and drinks by our waiter was superb. Great for small to medium size groups. The food was very good and their vegetable dishes were excellent.
Friends and I got together for brunch and they tempted up with bottomless drinks. These are top shelf drinks too, not just the standard mimosa and Bloody Mary and delicious.
The food was all you can eat and small portions which was great for sampling. We had more than enough to fill us up and every dish was great. It’s a pretty large selection of brunch food so nobody could go hungry.
Amanda was our waitress - excellent and fun.
The reservation was made for brunch. We were sat for brunch and handed brunch menus, then ignored by the wait staff for 10 minutes. The wait staff finally came to our table and said the kitchen was closed and only drinks were being served. They offered us pickles and olives instead of actual food. I will never be returning.
Lack of staff / slow service
Great atmosphere, great service!
I came here for happy hour prior to the theater. It was a nice evening so I opted for the patio. Unfortunately, despite the open air dining it was really loud, and they were playing loud, awful music--some sort of rock with a thumping beat that spoiled the entire atmosphere. My waitress was very good but it took a looooong time for my food to come out and when it arrived it was barely warm. It ended up taking over an hour and half for just 2 cocktails and 2 appetizers and I was disappointed there was no time for dessert. Food was good, large portions, and happy hour pricing was great.
Sad that we didn’t discover it sooner. Eager to go back again. Worried about the change in ownership comin up.
Ended up being more than pleasantly surprised at how incredible everyone’s dishes turned out- this place is definitely a hidden gem.
We went for Mother's Day brunch. It's a cute, little place in a hotel lobby. The food selection was limited and the restaurant was really, really chilly. The menu options, though limited, were tasty. Each dish we had came with an abundant supply of breakfast potatoes, so many that we swore off potatoes for the rest of the spring. We also had to sit at a high-top right next to the bar. This would be okay for a Thursday evening happy hour, but for Mother's Day it was kind of lacking. There was an empty dining room sitting off to the side that we should have been seated at.
Food was okay, very limited menu choices. But the food was average in our opinion. Drinks were very small and overly priced. When a drink is $17 and the size of a shot I have a problem with it. Noise level was extremely loud, we had to almost yell to hear the conversations with people at our table Bill for 2 people was $102. We found it rude when we paid in cash with $150 and rather than bringing us back our change when we paid she asked you dont want any change correct, before seeing the look on my face and asking how much change we wanted back. I then felt put on the spot and overtopped her nearly 30%, which the service was not that great. Overall average
A hotel restaurant that is essentially a loud bar. Would have rated it poorly if it were not for the fantastic entrees. We had the rock fish and lobster Tagliatelle and both were really good. Skip the appetizers and prepare for a poorly stocked wine list, if you can call it that. Never mind the small selection if they offered decent bottles or glasses of wine. I’ll go back for the food though.
We had a lovely dinner at Radiator, the food was delicious, the cocktails very good, and the ice cream sundae for dessert was a perfect ending. It was a quiet and romantic table, good place for date night or a special birthday celebration.
This was a very nice restaurant...tucked away and not crowded. the service was great, everyone very attentive and friendly. The food was ok, nothing spectacular.
I came here for Easter brunch with my family, and after reading reviews was excited to try this place out.
I was kind of surprised to find out how hotel-ey the restaurant space felt. The brunch area was in a hotel conference space, and you had to walk through the lobby to get there. We were seated in an area that was off to the side of the main bar area (which seemed to have a nicer atmosphere) and the decor seemed cheap.
The food was pretty good. Doughnuts were dense and would recommend to avoid.
This place would be really good in a city where exceptional restaurants didn’t abound, and also somewhere where it wasn’t common for hotels to have quality restaurants attached. There are so many other, better places in DC to eat- I’ll look somewhere else next time.
Easter brunch - lacking overall. Made to order eggs were good but the
