Enjoyed the food... especially the appetizers. Great service and nice atmosphere.
We had reservations for 4 and the host quickly adjusted for us 5 and we had a cozy spot on a cool u-shaped leather coach. The happy hour specials are great and at $5 for a Glas of bubbly and wine nothing to complain about as we were waiting for everybody else to arrive. Yes, we were seated without having to awkwardly wait for everybody to get there like at other restaurants. Nice! Our waitress was fantastic. Super friendly and bubbly and she made she quickly took our orders got us replenished an out in time for our play. Some of us had a series of apps - bacon fries anyone - and others entres. I had a the purple sweet potato gnocchi with kale, onion and labneh and they were phenomenal. Nice different take on an ubiquitous dish! Everybody else enjoyed theirs as well and we have been telling everybody about Radiator because of this.
The service just was not up to par never gave us any clue on quantities of the appetizers we had ordered after appetizers we decided to go somewhere else for dinner since the service was not up to par ordered an old fashion with no squeeze or orange rind inside the old fashion it appeared there wasn’t a lot of love that went into taking care of us tonight I am never this way when it comes to reviews but I think you should know that it was just Idiocracy at best waitressHad zero knowledge of menu and kept referring to her full-time job as a bartender during the day not a warm and fuzzy feeling when you’re there to drink at y’all’s place and have an incredible time we did 12 months to go and a little disappointed after all that time but will give you another chance when Sarah is working knowing I will get top-notch service
Danielle is the best!!! Yummy food : )
Great place and great brunch. Overall, a good experience.
Exellent food and drink
Noise level was high for a Wednesday night, made it a little hard to talk. The food and cocktails were fantastic!
We met up with some friends on April 1st for Radiators "April Mules Day" half price Moscow Mules promotion! It was a lot of fun in a new, elegant and trendy setting. They had about 8 varieties of Moscow Mule... we tried the Sailors Mule (rum based) and the regular and they were delicious. Service was super slow on the drinks, but our very lovely and fun server, apologized and explained that it was a new thing they were doing, so the bartender was still finding her rhythm. When they arrived, the drinks were garnished with Easter eggs which had different prizes inside. We snacked the Bacon Fat Fries and Cheese Croqueta's which are a MUST when you're there - you will relish every bite! The lamb taco's are also very yummy, as it the chacutterie platter which they added cheese too (nice but pricey for the quantity). The staff were all super friendly. Dying to go back so we can try the beautiful outdoor patio.
I was a bit skeptical of booking a reservation for brunch at Radiator since it was Easter Sunday and unlike the vast majority of DC area restaurants, Radiator had open availability. To my dismay, I was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, and the drinks were even better. However, the service was absolutely terrible. We had to walk around the restaurant in order to flag a someone down to be seated. Fortunately, one of the bartenders ran out to assist us. Yet nobody could find the hostess. When we located the hostess, she didn't immediately sit us down instead she seemed confused. By the time we sat down, we had to find her again to get menus. Then she sat us in an awkward corner although the entire restaurant was empty. We were relieved when her shift ended because we were given someone who rescued the rest of the day. Unfortunately, I still give the place 1 star for service.
Came for Easter brunch at 915. We were seated after a short wait. Minute 15 we were greeted and gave drink orders. Minute 35 we were finally given water. Minute 45 we were told drinks would be another 5 minutes. At this point we decided to brunch somewhere else.
I have had cocktails and snacks here once before and was excited to try more of the menu, however, the service was not on point that day. Note, we were the only table seated in the dining area.
I’m hoping our future visit will be better.
Overall Brunch was a good experience. The entrance to the restaurant is hard to find. Service was slow when we were first seated but it got better. This is a hotel restaurant. The outdoor area was cute but was closed.
Give it a solid B. Everything was pretty good, but there wasn't anything that was amazing enough to make me recommend to others or want to go back. We really enjoyed the deviled eggs, kale salad, short rib ravioli and gnocchi. Our least favorite dish was the octopus so I would recommend not getting that.
Visited 2p Sunday and expected a tapas menu, but it was only brunch. Sat for 10 minutes before saw waitress. Food, drinks, and ambiance were good.
Really interesting & delicious cocktail menu but the food portions were disappointing. Charcuterie was not good, do not recommend. Gnocchi was amazing but not filling. After a very expensive dinner we had to go get more food somewhere else.
Just one word - Amazing! Food was delicious. Would come back again next time in town.
Back room is dark and isolated and the bar area, crowded, noisy and uncomfortable, unless you have a big party to be seated at a very few, more comfortable tables available. We we're sitting and waiting for a long time before anyone came over to take our order and that was when I stopped one of them to see why we were not getting any service. The Manager was very nice and helpful.
Overall, ok for meeting friends for drinks, not for a quality sit down dinner.
We ordered a mocktail, which was delicious.. But our waiter couldn't tell us what was in it. And didn't bother to find out.
Great place for drinks and tapas. Staff are very friendly.
Great service each time I go and they always have specials on their craft cocktails, which are well-done and balanced (and I don't say this easily). Love the outside fire pit and overall ambiance. Big Thumbs up!
Just had drinks at the bar this time. The two female bartenders were GREAT!!
good cocktails and ambiance. It's never been really crowded whenever I've been so you can still hear each other/have a conversation. The booths are comfy and spacious. food is good too (I've had the short rib ravioli, lamb gnocchi, lamb tacos, and radiator burger. Portions are a bit small though (only 3 raviolis in short rib dish for example) so either don't come hungry or order apps in addition to entree.
Food was great, jeff was awesome bloody Mary’s were on point steak and eggs....yes. Lemon pancakes yes.... what more......
An otherwise great evening was totally spoiled by a waitress with a terrible attitude, we didn't feel welcome and felt as though our presence was an inconvenience to her. Frustrating, as the cocktails were tremendous, and the menu very unique!
Food was delicious! Chef Dearden has a great menu to explore! The crab beignets were great. So was the duck and grits. Drinks are great as well. My party had a great time at Radiator for brunch. Can’t wait to go back.
What a waste of time. We went there last minute for Xmas Evenings dinner. It was dead. When wanted to order off drink menu, was only allowed to order off special drink menu. The food that was cold. We didn’t bother complaining, our waiter was no where to be found. The only saving grace was that was out to dinner with my husband and we enjoyed each other’s company and not having to fix dinner.
This is my second time here and once again, the food was amazing! Our waiter (Jeff) was excellent and timely! Definitely try the duck and waffles - it's the best!
So mediocre. The server was attentive, but drinks and food arrived with great delay. The server could not explain the dishes (nor could we explain the “cornstarch” residue on “bacon fat fries”. ) In general, it’s a hotel bar fit to hang in to wait for a ‘date’ to come get you. NOT A RESTAURANT.
Fantastic food, drinks, service, everything. The new hotel it’s in ain’t too shabby either!
The restaurant received the reservation, even received a confirmation email (apparently auto email) went there, it was closed!!
We were impressed with this little hidden gem. Food was great, excellent craft cocktail menu, and the service was excellent. They have a great outdoor patio with fireplace.
Let me start off by saying, I don't typically write reviews on OpenTable. But my wife and I recently moved out of DC to raise a baby and so our trips in to the city for date night are a bit more valuable to us. Therefore I feel more compelled to review the places we try to help others who might also be looking for new and exciting places in DC.
We picked Radiator because it was a new restaurant in our old neighborhood and the outdoor dining option looked really cool. I should also say, most of the other places we wanted to try were already booked, so we took our chances on a spot we had never heard of before. We were seated outside and tried a range of their "tapas" style dishes. Before we could order food though, we had to sit and wait about 15 minutes for our drinks. And then another 10 minutes for the waiter to take our order.
Once we finally did order, we started with the croquetas - which were very good. We then had the lamb belly tacos - also good but nothing earth shattering. My wife had the gnocchi and I had the lobster tagliatelle. Again, both were good but neither dish was life changing. We passed on dessert and left feeling as though we had paid way too much for a very average meal.
Here's the thing, I don't expect every dining experience to be a religious experience. But if I'm spending over $100 on food, I think it should be memorable. And service needs to be on point on a Friday night half a block off one of the busiest neighborhoods in the city. At any rate, I doubt we'll go back. There are just too many other great options for us in DC to waste it on average. Maybe if they add an extra server or two during busy nights, it might make the overall experience worth return trips. The patio is very cool and the place has great potential, it just missed the mark for us this time.
The rooftop bar is amazing! The view is spectacular and the drinks are great. getting to the rooftop (10th floor) is a bit confusing and they could have a sign somewhere to let you know how to get there, but once you make it, it's worth it. The restaurant downstairs is nice, but the food is so/so and different from the bites available upstairs. But still a nice place to eat (and it's pet-friendly!)
Radiator's choices are always great and different. I like the cold watermellon pie and the waugu beef was terrific.
Absolutely delicious! I ate here for my birthday and the staff truly spoiled me and my guest. We were able to sample quite a bit of the menu and the Lamb Belly Tacos are a MUST-HAVE, such a burst of flavor! I also enjoyed the Stone Bass and my guest said the chicken was cooked to perfection. The food came out fast and hot and the staff were so nice and polite. Overall a great visit!
I had the private dining room reserved for a large group a few weeks in advance and they were poorly understaffed. I expected a dedicated server for our group of 16, but they only had two servers and one bartender on staff for the entire restaurant. The food was great, but the service was less than adequate - we were busing our own table and getting our own drinks off the bar after the waiting got out of control. They did offer a discount to help make up for it, but I would not recommend for a large group or anything quick.
We ordered whisky cocktail and was very blend. Too much ice and very less alcohol. Not worth it. Lamb belly tacos were good. Very noisy inside outside patio was better. Disappointing whisky cocktails.
Happy hour bites and drinks were the highlight. The dinner food was overpriced and not so interesting. One server was great, the one who took over when she left was quite short with us.
Would recommend for happy hour- nice setting and not too crowded.
Great food, fast service, we were celebrating a birthday and they brought out a death by chocolate with a candle and wrote happy birthday in fudge it was perfect. And they didn't even charge us for it :) would highly recommend and will definitely be going back.
Waitress service was poor, never checked up on us during the meal. I had to ask for the check after a long wait. She didn't know anything about the meals on the menu. Never did get asked for water or drink refills. The table was stuck between two Walsh's so we didn't get any ambiance. The food was good but nothing to rave about. The price was too expensive for what you get. We didn't know they were tapas.
The bartender Kevin was excellent. The food was amazing. I thought everything about it was great and I look forward to returning.
