Birthday celebration for my friend from Germany, very authentic food and fabulous service !! I’ll definitely go back
The hostess/waitress disappeared after lunch was served. We were having a work lunch so it would have been nice to refill iced tea and get the check. Also, my kielbasa was dry and I would have changed my order, had she checked to see if it was satisfactory. I was excited about the place and would not recommend it.
The Food was great! Sehr lecker! The service most excellent with a special danke to Anne!
The restaurant’s setting is ideal for a relaxed celebration with friends and family. This was our second time there and the food was even better than before. Plus, we do appreciate a chef that takes the time to develop the perfect cookie recipe!
Good food, large portions and reasonable prices. Nice bright atmosphere with bay views.
Best German restaurant in Area. I never have better Europen food in the USA. I'm from Czech Republic so I felt like at home. Thank you!
Great experience! Friendly staff and yummy German food
I made a reservation and we were greeted promptly by our server and were allowed to choose which table. The location is ideal, quick and cheap parking and a beautiful view out the side windows out onto the bay, the docks and the bridge. A waitress came and took our drink order and poof, she was gone for fifteen minutes, the place is open and bright and she was walking around doing, well, seemingly nothing. It was seven o'clock on a Wednesday so it really wasn't busy and she only have a few people seated at her tables and she neglected them as well. The other waitress was busily running about and interacting with her tables but ours was AWOL. When we finally placed our order, it came quickly, but not by our waitress, it was brought by someone from the kitchen and it was delicious. We saw our waitress walking around aimlessly but she never asked how our meal was or if we needed anything, the other waitress, actually brought us water. So, she finally shows up at the table when we have been finished for awhile to bring us our bill. Never asked if we wanted anything else to drink or eat etc. To say she was inattentive to kind. She was VACANT. The thing is, the rest of the staff were so nice and outgoing and her lack of attention or even just simply doing her job left us rather annoyed. The food is great, the drinks are delicious I just suggest that if you have a choice of sitting in the section where the blonde waitress with glasses is working do it, DO not sit in the section with the long haired blonde waitress without glasses roams around aimlessly looking bored beyond belief, it will just make the dining experience unpleasant and this place deserves to be enjoyed.
Incredible view and space. Must be experienced. Food is fabulous so was the service.
While the restaurant itself has a nice ambiance it is super expensive for what it is in terms of its food. Weirdly you can’t really see out the windows because they’re above I level. It feels like an example of many new San Francisco restaurants. Chic but no soul to it’s food or the overall experience.
My husband and I love this place. The food is amazing and the beer is some of the best beer I have ever had outside of Germany/Austria. We come here as often as we can and bring our friends and family.
Super loud. Great location. Really slooow service and pretty poor food but good beer,
I will not be back.
The food was very good, However, the menu was quite limited, and diners have no ability to "customize" their meal. For example, once you chose a protein (fish, pork, etc) you have no choices on vegetables and starch.
The service was most excellent.
So good, but sooooo loud. It’s not relaxing to yell at your dinner companion. The service was very cheerful, but quite slow, perhaps because of all the very large groups shouting at each other.although I really enjoyed the family friendly, communal atmosphere.
The food was delicious ! I am going meatless for awhile and Radhaus has some very tasty vegetarian options! The dumpling soup and little gems salad are outstanding. The view is wonderful, of course. I would recommend Radhaus with the caveat that one shouldn’t expect an intimate meal.
I’ve been to Radhaus 4 times now, and each time has been 10/10. Order the currywurst!
Good service but much too loud, with small but expensive portions.
Great service, had the pretzel, cheese, currywurst, beer, asparagus, and cookies. Yum. Not too crowded for before a show at a nearby theater.
I had low expectations because German food doesn't come to the top of my mind as gourmet. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and the variety. Generous portions and great fries too. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful with his recommendations. Would definitely go again.
Some of the dishes were good and interesting, while dishes advertised as "dumplings" weren't really dumplings, misleading. Our order was messed up a little and tables were not cleaned between dishes.
Good vibe and a cool setting, especially late afternoon or early evening with the big windows on the bay. The bratwurst and spaetzle with Gruyere cheese are particularly good, and the selection of German beers is great.
Great selection of beers, with many malty varieties that I don't' find too often. The schnitzel was very good - flavorful breading and tender juicy meat. Will definitely come back for more!
Visiting San Francisco for the day... from los angeles.
The Food is overpriced for the amount of food you receive and every flavor feels similar to the one before. Great if you don't mind not hearing the people you are with speak.
Skip food and enjoy beer only in this very loud restaurant.
Great food, buzzy ambiance. Good service considering how packed it was.
Food tasteless, didn’t come out at same time. This place seems like more of a bar than a restaurant. We told them We were going to a play and the service was good
We enjoyed our time at radhaus and the food! We were disappointed that the waitress asked "what the occasion was" for our large group to be there, and we said it was our friend's birthday. They then didn't do anything with that information! No candles to blow out or small treat given. We wanted to sing Happy Birthday to our friend, but did not get the chance to. If someone in our party needed to buy a dessert in order for that to happen I wish the waitress had pulled one of us aside to tell us. Made for an awkward waiting around time period when we got the check.
Beautiful sunny day to sit outside! The service was really slow and they brought out the food in a very disorderly fashion. We got the potato pancakes, bratwurst and the Benedict. Everything was really flavorful and good but really small portions for the value. Good beers on tap but would not go back.
Took my husband here for his birthday, as he is a huge fan of German food and beer. He loved it! Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable. The views are beautiful and the atmosphere has a good vibe. There were both large and small parties, everything from people with kids to a lively group celebrating a birthday. Would definitely go again and bring some friends along.
We made a reservation and still had to wait 40 minutes to be seated. Then we ordered (8 of us) and every person’s food came out in ~20 minute increments... they also served our appetizers last. Food was pretty subpar. Cute place but probably won’t go back.
Grabbed a cocktail next door at Interval before. Had noted in my OpenTable reservation that it was my partner's bday. The hostess lit up upon check-in and wished him a happy birthday. Really sweet lady. Sat us at the best seat in the house. Food was excellent and waitress was really kind.
Loved this adorable German Brewhaus! Great food, great atmosphere, great beer!
Great view, delicious salad and Brussel sprouts, great service.
I celebrated my birthday there and was very thrilled and happy with our server Missy (I think that was her name). She was very accommodating, helpful, and very kind. I would recommend her for any large party.
The only reason why I did not provide all 5 stars was because when the host on that day made an accommodation for us, he was extremely vocal to let us know that he was not happy to do it and allowed his body language to communicate same. That was very disappointing and put a damper on an otherwise perfect experience. After hearing his comments and seeing how he engaged with us, it was very difficult to let that go.
Otherwise, we are locals and live in the area. We love your venue, food, drink, ambiance and your staff is really great (Sean too). Thank you for having us!
Nice ambiance and tasty food. Too expensive for what it is and service took too long.
Not wild about this place. I like the idea but didn't like the quality nor the taste of the food. The pork knuckle is nothing like what you would get in Germany. It looked and tasted like it was deep fried instead of being roasted. Split peas are not something that you'd be getting it served with normally. The potato pancakes were served luke-warm/cold. The Schnitzel didn't have much Schnitzel-taste either and were served with boiled (?) potatoes. You normally get it with roasted/fried potatoes.
If you don't mind the lack of German-ness of the food, if you don't mind paying >=$10 for 0.5l beer and you don't care about being able to have a conversation because it's ridiculously loud, then Radhaus is the place to go.
Our second visit to Radhaus included dinner and we had high expectations after our first visit (during which we had just beers and one order of Obatzda). Unfortunately the food did not meet our expectations.
The Obatzda we had during this visit was very different from the first time we were there back in November 2018. Lack of onions changed the taste so significantly that it shouldn't be called Obatzda any more. When questioning the waitress she explained that the chef in the kitchen changed some time in December.
The red cabbage (side dish to Sauerbraten) was not seasoned at all and was not really eatable. The meat of the Sauerbraten was so-so but not quite 'sour' enough.
The meat of the Schweinshaxe was acceptable and tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Conclusion: if you are interested in good German beers - this is a good place for you. If you are interested in good German food - we can't recommend this place.
Food is very ordinary, on the bland side, and overpriced for what you get.
$10 beers and $5 for bread & butter, SF has a lot of wealthy young people and I am not one of them, I thought it had a fun vibe and love the location but it was way too loud to have dinner with friends and have a conversation.
