The rackhouse (or rickhouse) is where bourbon barrels are stored and aged. With this, Whiskey and Bourbon play a major role in many of the dishes and house made sauces. We also take pride in our exploration of local craft beers and regional Whiskey and Bourbons to enhance not only our techniques but your taste buds too.
Went to brunch buffet and the food was fantastic! Huge shrimp, beef brisket, prime rib carving station and more. Service was spot on, it was a very busy day but they could’ve done more to clear tables and sweep. I did have to stare at an old broom in the dining area for 30 minutes before it was removed.
The food here is basic, but consistently good. While they do have some BBQ items that are very good, the restaurant's name is more a reflection of it's Bourbon selection. Service has been somewhat hit or miss at times. The latest visit was when a large party was being held in a private room, so that might have slowed service a bit. It took awhile to get a waitress to come to our table after we were seated, but the food and beverages arrived quickly after ordering. Overall, it's a good but not great spot. We do go back, just not as often as we return to other restaurants.
Got in at our reservation time. Our waiter was great! He made suggestions, which we took and the blackened chicken sandwich was very good! BBQ wings were excellent! We also had the buffalo garlic wings, which to me were too spicey, but my husband and son-in-law really liked the spice. Drinks were good and we had a great time! Will definitely go back.
Great food, great service ( our Bulgarian server was absolutely the best👍😀 sorry I don’t remember his name😩) Enjoyed options in menu we had wings, ribs, macaroni, etc. Will definitely come back!!
Great food and service. The smoky mountain platter was great!
Great food nice service and good portions for the price a bit pricey but well worth the price
The staff was outstanding, the value was exceptional and the food was beyond delicious
We stopped because we saw it on Chicago’s Best and they didn’t fail!!! Will definitely be back
Truly amazing BBQ! Burnt Ends are superb too. The Beef Short Rib was huge and very tender. Great Sides...Mac and Cheese was tasty and perfectly prepared.
Dry rub wings were burnt to the point of tasteless char, sent them back. Replacement wings were barely better. C’mon Rackhouse, you can’t get wings right twice?
Everything was wonderful except the service. Or waiter would disappear for long periods of time. It took a very long time to get drinks and/or refills.
Great drink and food specials . Service was very good! We ordered the $50 platter and it was okay . Wasnt really happy with that. However the smoky wings were great. It was hard to see what we were eating lights were dimmed too much. Overall great ambience and i def would go back. Great moonshine drinks!!
Had a great time
The food was surprisingly good. I had a beef brisket sandwich, which was tender and very tasty. The tater tots were fresh, crispy and delicious. My girlfriend had the smoked Reuben, which she loved. We both thought that the BBQ sauce was zesty. Service was fast and attentive. We'll be back.
Dinner was nice. The fireplace was ablaze which felt good on a cold winter night. The ribs were good, but maybe slightly dry. Food came quickly but the service was a little slow. Took a long time to get our check. Otherwise, besides those minor issues, it was good.
Quite atmosphere, The staff was friendly and attentive
Okay, brisket very dry . Service was friendly
We had a very loud table near us. Other than that it was very nice. This is one of my favorite places to go
We all enjoyed our meals. Some had brisket, meatloaf, short ribs. Loved the tater tots.
Always enjoy an evening at The RackHouse. Tasty barbecue entrees. Great friendly service.
I am a big BBQ fan and was looking forward to trying this out. The décor is nice and our waitress was good. Unfortunately, the food was not so great. Since our family of five went, we tried many things. The appetizer you always want to get at a BBQ joint is burnt ends. These were chunks of very fatty brisket soaked in bbq sauce, not good at all. For the meals, the ribs and brisket were dry. The pulled pork was mediocre. Cole slaw was not very good either. If you were to compare this to a place like say the Chicago Culinary Kitchen, I would rank it a 3 and the CCK a 9 if that gives you an idea of the difference. Maybe we just hit it on a bad night, it was snowing and the place was pretty quiet for a Saturday night.
Thanks for having the right mix of sports, fun ,and appropriate noise level. My family was relieved to have a place where we could hear each other and celebrate our birthdays.
Our first time here the food was excellent! Good beer choices and wine selection. We would definitely recommend trying this place out. We will be back to try more food on the menu!
We went there for the New Year's Eve Pajama Brunch, however it wasn't a brunch. You had 7 to 8 choices from a breakfast menu. The kids enjoyed being in their PJ's so it wasn't completely hateful however if their description was truthful I would have gone somewhere else.
Pretty mediocre New Year's brunch from a spot I usually really enjoy. We have been to Rack House many times and always have good or great meals and service. Considering this was a special Holiday brunch, the 6 item brunch menu was pretty lackluster. I order the chilequiles and was totally satisfied, but 2 of my friends order the breakfast sandwich on waffles and were very disappointed. The waffles looked like Eggos and were barely cooked through, much less toasted. There weren't any breakfast items on the children's menu, but she said they could make something. While we waited for our check, we saw several plates of lovely powdered sugar donuts walk by, but did not see them on the menu nor hear anything about them from our server. We will definitely go back, but not for brunch.
Restaurant was out of a lot of side dishes and common dishes - we found this frustrating to not have much available to order. What we did eat was very good
Server a bit slow
We went on new years eve for dinner. We know dinner on NYE is always tricky but we got to the restaurant about 630 and it was half full. Our waitress who was I think covering tables and was actually the bartender did a nice job. Moscow mule and blue moons very good.
It's a nice diverse menu but some items definitely stood out. We really liked the burnt ends and cheese curds. We did have a few pieces of burnt ends that where completely fat which shouldn't have gone out. All the other pieces where very good.
Pulled Pork, Brisket, Salmon where also very goods. The smoked wings are 5 star just get them with sauce on the side and enjoy the dry rub.
Only negative was the 1/2 slab of ribs. I may of gotten the bad side as it was very dry and not hot. The food took so long I didn't want to push it (NYE Staffing)
The homemade donuts where also 5 star. It's a cake donut with powdered sugar.
We'll try again with the knowledge we learned this past visit.
Our server was new and messed up the drink order, it took him about 15 minutes to circle back for us to catch his attention. Then when food was served by another server, he never came back to check if everything was ok. Finally, caught the hostess then manager to let them know we did not receive one of our meals. They did comp his meal and also comped an appetizer which was nice but the BBQ is average, sauce is not one I enjoy and wish they had another BBQ sauce option besides the sweet one. Just not up to my BBQ standards.
We had dinner there on New year's eve. Went early service from the minute we walked in was excellent. Our server Victor was great. Answered our questions and was checking on us throughout our stay. Great food and alot for your money. Will be back next week for our son's birthday.
Our waitress was outstanding. I wish I remembered her name, because she was one of the best I've had when eating out.
The food and service was terrific!! Brocket burnt ends and the cornbread are the best!!
Lyndsey was very friendly and an excellent server
Brisket isn't what it use to be. Baked beans not my favorite. Black bean burgers and sw wrap were good.Waitress was very unattentive and only saw her a few times in two hour visit. We did order three appetizers and rec'd two but hey charged us for three. With a large party you should work for the $45 tip !
We met friends here on a Tuesday night, and the place was pretty empty. Our handsome, strapping men ordered the rib special. I had a salad, and my friend ordered the salmon. The ribs were good, not great-way too much sauce. My salad was delicious. I didn’t hear any comments about the salmon, but she ate is all, so I guess it must have been good.
Overall, an okay place. Biggest downside is they were out of 3 of the beers we asked for. Not much of a “Tavern”.
Ribs were excellent!! Great place to meet up with friends. We didn't feel rushed as we wanted to sit and chat. Will go back for sure
Good food...good service
Service was outstanding - food and drinks came out very fast!
Food was good and the place smelled great with delicious aromas. Good menu of enticing dishes.
The outdoor seating area has been redone and it is an excellent place to dine or just relax with a beverage. It has comfortable tables and chairs, sofas and a fireplace. This has become the ultimate outdoor hangout.
Our server was very attentive and the food was delish, as always. Try the melt in your mouth cheese curds. Yum!
Although the service was a tad slow, the brunch selection was unique and outstanding. Highly recommend for brunch!
