Marco’s Coal Fired Pizza – Ballpark Ratings and Reviews
Our waitress was attentive and the service was great. Our food was also very good. The only thing I didn't car for was our table was next to a table on a slightly higher level, where a couple's back was to us - it felt a little weird to me, but otherwise we had a great dinner.
Been coming here since it was originally Marco's, then under the name Racca's and now back to Marco's. The two consistent things are: 1) simply the best pizza in Denver (Beau Jo's is in a league by themselves, very different) and 2) this location is always loud. The inconsistent things are the service. This time, after sitting waiting (with reservations) for 15+ minutes which coupled with the parking lot being tied-up by the adjacent bar and my street meter ticking away, finally got service and very, very good from that point on. But we were signaling for a server as if we were trying to land an airplane only to be ignored. Again, once we saw our person, it was great.
Always a good bet, this restaurant has, I think, the best pizzas in town. I'm not a huge fan of thin-crusted pizzas, but something about that coal-fired oven makes the pizzas here amazingly delicious. Try the margarita with pepperoni and the Del Re pizzas - you can't go wrong.
We were in Denver for a week and I heard great things about Marco's. The pizza was supremely disappointing. The ingredients were bland and old, not fresh or quality in any way. The cheese was just okay. I expected a lot more, yet in reality this place is barely a step up from Domino's.
The pizza here is thin crust with relatively light cheese and excellent sauce. The crust is slightly crispy but not dry or crusty. Cooked perfectly and one of the better thin pizzas we've ever had. The restaurant also has good draft beer options and a fun atmosphere. Our server was very good and checked on us often.
This was the first time we had to Marcos in a while, we were sat promptly, our drinks were amazing (prickly pear mojito!), and the server was very nice. We had a little lag time as some of our friends were running late but we didn't feel rushed at all. The wings are to die for, we got 2 orders and between 6 of us devoured them, even my 17 month old daughter gobbled them up! We got a few pizzas and some salads and made it to the 1st inning of the Rockies game. Great food, great people and great location!
A really good pizza! We are an Italian family and it's hard to find a good pizza like that also in Italy. Pizza with Nutella as a dessert was also very good. The staff was nice and helpful, they called a cab for us (the neighborhood late at night didn't seem completely safe for tourists). Thank you for the nice evening!
We came in from Chicago to visit Univ Colorado-Boulder and wanted to see Coors Field. We had a group of 9 and they accommodated us with no problems.
The food and service was outstanding. Real wood fired pizzas that would give a few places back home a run for their money. Visit and eat, you will not be disappointed.
This place is closed. I went online to find a pizza place with good reviews and I found a place and we made a reservation for that evening and we got there it was close for good. They should remove the website while it was closed. If you do not have the chance to go here recommend panteleones featured on Gordon ramsy kitchen nightmares with a wonderful new set of food. If you do see this I did not try the food so don't take my rating serious
We picked Raccas for its proximity to Coors field. 3 of us with a 5 year old. They did not want to seat us in a booth because they wanted to use it for larger parties - although it was very apparent that the other booths had 4 people sitting!?!
We were told we could use a booth as long as we were gone before the game started. Not exactly a friendly reception.
The pizza was tasty but the toppinsg kept falling off so beware if you wear white!
I do not recommend. They are not customer friendly. We got yelled at my a supervisor. We had made a reservation for 16 people for Fathers Day. We asked as soon as we sat down if we could have 4 separate checks for each family. Our waitress was very friendly and said it was no problem. We all sat in groups so we would not get her confused. The service was very slow. It took her some time to bring our drinks and even longer to get our order. We waited about an hour to get our meal. We were patient as it was a big party. When the food finally came it was very good. We ordered the dessert trio, appetizers, pizzas, pastas, antipasto platters and chicken wings. She did not come to bring our check and we wait for 1/2 an hour So two of the ladies in the group went upstairs to check on it as the kids were getting antsy We had been there for 3 hours. The waitress printed us copies of our check. The first one looked at hers and paid it and left to wait outside for us. The other three after got their tickets and were charged for extra items. We were standing by the waitress patiently telling her which items should have gone with whom. At that time a little skinny salt and pepper haired man came and yelled at us and told us to get away from the computer and that there is only one computer for all of the wait staff and we were in the way. He yelled at us again and said "all the food that is on that ticket did go out to the table, so no matter what check it goes on, we WILL PAY IT." My husband is in the food business and has never heard of any person yelling at a customer like that especially since we were waiting patiently and just trying to get it all squared away. He then stated that it was our fault for ordering separate checks since they are not allowed to do that. We ended up just paying for three bills that were wrong. Later I found out that the gentleman that yelled at us was actually a supervisor. I will NEVER GO BACK AGAIN. That is not the way you treat customers
