The Queen Anne Victorian at 210 Savannah Road in Lewes, DE has stood tall for over 100 years. Built in 1899, Captain W. “Diver” Johnston at the age of 52 collaborated with his business partner (William H. Virden) to build a beautiful new house for him and his wife, Isabella. Records indicate that he paid $400 for the entire lot, one of the most prominent sites in downtown Lewes.Over the next 100 years, the Victorian structure built in the style of Eastlake, an English architect, served as a home for many families, including longtime Lewes Mayor, Otis Smith.

The team at Raas is proud to continue the story of the Queen Anne Victorian. Each chapter of the building’s history has added to its charm and we at Raas are excited for its next chapter.

This was our first visit to Raas….. first impression was a very impressive Victorian building in a beautiful blue with white trim. Upon entering, we were seated in a very bright and inviting environment, room with a good view of the bar and a lovely window by our table. The bar is pretty impressive, and everything is remarkably clean and inviting. We were served by Jason who knows the menu backward and forward as well as the bar. We ordered the lamb small plate to share, followed by the goat Kashmiri and the butter chicken. We complemented that with Missi Roti and lacchi paratha. The food presentation and quality were above standard and exceeded our expectations. Jason was attentive, friendly, professional, and our visit was fabulous. We will definitely be back again and again..

Raas continues to serve up the finest Indian cuisine to be had practically anywhere. The flavors are wonderful, presentation is lovely and service spot on. Recommend this highly for anyone with a taste for SE Asia.

The most hideous presentation of HIGH TEA possible. Called a month ago asking if TEA was classic High Tea and was told yes. Wrong it was fried Indian food appetizers with cheap supermarket pastries. See the top tier of “pastries” $100 price for two.

I had made reservations on open table in advance to celebrate our Anniversary. When we arrived the host/waiter said they were too busy and can't offer us a table or a booth in the main dining room. I insisted we had made a reservation on OpenTable and drove over an hour to dine there that night. He wanted to seat us at high table at the bar "Take it or leave it, we are too busy, nothing personal" he said. What a way to celebrate an Anniversary. We finally decided to take the high table at the bar since we drove so far. That was only the start of a very bad dining experience. Save your money... The host was rude the food was NO good at All . My husband and I love Indian food, this Restaurant is not it. NEVER again.

Fantastic experience. Raas has been on my dining “To Do” list for a few years. Glad I finally stopped in. Amazing flavors, atmosphere, service and overall experience. I am still dreaming of the cinnamon chicken dish I had for my entree- sublime!

There were few people in the restaurant so that was why the noise level was good. With more patrons it may be different. Our server, Chuck, was wonderful, as were the support staff. There were many interesting options for cocktails, small plates, large plates and desserts. Praises from all of our party of 6. We will be going back!

As every time we have dined at Raas, the food was superb, the drinks divine, an always very attentive staff and Chef G.G. consistently outdoes himself! It's always such a pleasure to have him visit your table and chat about the food. We are so fortunate to have this treasure in our town.

Delicious as always and the salmon and lamb shank were wonderful and of course the naan bread, both the butter and garlic variety never disappoint! The prawn app was also very tasty and our server was great and helped us with menu decisions which were spot on! He also hand-stuffed our olives with blue cheese for our martinis, so that is definitely service above and beyond. Wonderful meal and would definitely recommend!
