   We went out for dinner at RA for the first time to celebrate our engagement/anniversary Our server didn’t seem to really understand my questions and I was a bit disappointed to be sat directly next to a table of other people when the restaurant was pretty much empty. We both got the seafood Mac and Cheese because everyone raves about how good it was….but I was not impressed at all. I will only say it’s worth the price because of the ingredients in the dish but taste wise definitely not. For a seafood dish with 3 types of seafood in it, I expected to taste some sort of fishy flavor but I got none and I was incredibly disappointed. Next time we try RA Bistro I think we’re gonna stick to burgers.

   Fantastic service and super friendly owner! They had the best crab cakes I ever had, and I loved the ambience! My party and I weren’t pressured to leave the restaurant, and we enjoyed our meal uninterrupted!

   Food was ok, not great. Service was awful! Waitress never even said hello or asked us our drink order. Didn’t fill our water, never checked on us if we needed anything or asked if everything was ok. Several waitresses were just standing around. We had to ask for our check. It seems since they automatically add 20 percent tip to the bill the waitresses could care less about serving the customers. Very disappointed.

   The food and service was amazing!! If there was a rating it would be a 20 out 10 for the food and staff. The staff was so attentive. We do have plans to return to the restaurant. There are so many more things on the menu that we would like to try.

    With a reservation, we waited for 30 minutes to be seated, then another 10 before anyone came to our table. By the time we received any water, we had been there for 50 minutes. Food orders came out wrong, menu misrepresents what the food actually is, seemed like nobody knew what they were doing. Brussel sprouts were horrible -- very mushy with no flavor. Very disappointed - will not be returning.

    Food was delicious, however, my boyfriend’s burger was overdone. The drinks were delicious and a server, Cole, was very good and had a great sense of humor. Definitely going back.

    Stopped in for dinner and had a gift card. Burger was good and so was the spinach dip. The Barbecue Mac n cheese was also very good and a very large portion! Service was great but would liked to have had another drink..other than that we had a great time here.

    I was disappointed in some aspects of the brunch items ordered - including lukewarm waffles and cold syrup. The eggs in the breakfast bowl were somehow still runny in the white and hard in the yolk - not the perfect poach. The breakfast bowl also suggested roasted vegetables were included, but I got spinach seemingly prepared like collard greens (the few onions included were clearly not roasted but cooked). I would say it was a disappointing food experience but a nice atmosphere and an extensive drinks menu. I think I’ll try again for lunch or dinner.

    Amongst the four of us we all ordered three different things. None of it was amazing. We had the pimenta cheese starter and it was not full of flavor as you would expect. Two of us ordered a chicken dish with sun-dried tomatoes and it just needed more sauce it was a little lacking. Also the loaded mashed potatoes were not very flavorful. How could that be? Anyway we expected much better.

    I would have given five stars, however, our server left a little to be desired. When she would come to our table she was so quick to leave you couldn’t even finish your thought. Always in a hurry and didn’t seem to want to be bothered. Why would she give exceptional service or even mediocre service when she knows she’s going to receive a 20% gratuity no matter what seeing as how they add that on to your bill no matter the size of your party.

    Overall the whole experience was great. We arrived a little early and had some drinks at the bar, then went and got our seats. It was our anniversary dinner and I put in the requests “tell my wife she is pretty because she doesn’t believe me”. And the staff went over my expectations with that and left my wife the sweetest notes on napkins and she absolutely loved it. Made her feel so special. It was great. The food was great.     Happy Hour is wonderful. I had a peach martini that was delicious. They used fresh peaches to make it. What creative flair. The shrimp and grits are excellent The flavors are spicy, but not hot. I can only comment on this dish because it is the only one I have had. It’s that good.

    No server came to our table after being seated. We had to request help Coffee cups went empty snd no one ask. Again had to solicit help Food was cold and bland Mgt removed service fee per policy but very discouraging Staff clearly trained to smile be friendly but let’s get to the basics with all other aspects

    It’s a very nice restaurant and the atmosphere was great. It’s worth your time if you are in the Lynchburg, VA or Appomattox area. My only negative was that my food (Chicken Parmigiana) was not hot when I received it. On the other hand, my wife did enjoy her pork chop dinner.

    I've been to RA Bistro for business meals lately, but this was the first time I had an opportunity to go for brunch on the weekend. It was excellent! Where I'm a little disappointed that they don't have a separate lunch and dinner menu (their meals are quite pricy for lunch), the brunch offerings and charges were exactly what you'd expect to spend. Honestly, one of the best brunches I've had in Lynchburg.
