R2L Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I went to R2L for our anniversary. This is probably our 6th time at this restaurant. it was always a favorite, but both service and food has fell off from our last visit. We spent $265 and was not happy with the food. Cocktails were still great! And of course we love the view - priceless.. I ordered the seafood boil, it had no flavor and was too salty. seasoning clearly was just salt and water. and the lobster bisque used to be amazing, that fell off..highly disappointment. We'll probably go back for drinks in the lounge area, but would skip on food.
We went there on our usual date nite(sat.),10 pm reservations, wasn't having dinner at that time of nite ,that being said , we had (2) cocktails (1) appetizer (trio) n the white cake dessert with (1) cappuccino $75 !!! + tip , r u kidding me ! This is a 3 star restaurant at best , way over priced, I guess your charging for the 37th floor views ,the higher u go the more u pay ! Nuff said
My boyfriend and I enjoyed our first dinner at R2L this past weekend. The only thing that upset us was that we had put 25 on our reservation to ensure that out spot was held. We arrived about 20 min late due to the snow and backed up highway. My boyfriend called them while we were on our way to let them know we would be arriving late due to the weather the person on the phone assured us that it wouldn't be an issue. When we arrived we still had to wait a little over an hour despite calling ahead and despite the 25 deposit we had on our reservation. I was very annoyed.
Our server (can't remember her name) was just okay. She wasn't as attentive as one should be at this type of upscale restaurant. Nonetheless the food was very delicious. I had the salmon and lobster mac. My boyfriend had steak and potatoes the potatoes were just okay yet the lobster mac was spectacular!!! We both loved it... We will definitely revisit and we will definitely be ordering the loser mac!
Oh and the dress code wasn't very strict a lot of those dining in surprisingly had on jeans (both men and women).
Fantastic setting with lovely, 37th floor views of the City. Our server, Taylor, was fantastic. My venison entree was absolutely perfect. There does seem to be some slight problem with getting food hot to the table; that included my lobster bisque (even though it was from a lidded teapot), the venison dish as a whole and my girl's seared tuna. More significantly, the brussel sprouts component of the tuna dish was beyond over-salted. They replaced it with a fresh prep - but that was burned. All in all, a nice experience - expensive but a reasonable value for the solid place and menu.
I would love to go back when it’s nicer weather here in philly it snowed so the sky’s wasn’t clear but we still had a great time. Food was amazing, staff was great I loved the dark candle light setting. Price was way less then what we expected for table of 6 with food and drinks. I will be going back for date night.
Good ambience, service was ok (although i requested a window seat weeks in advance & paid the deposit required for the reservation.. a window seat was not what we got , when we arrived, there were plenty of available tables with the window view. After being seated, i asked the server about the window seating, she quickly responded that those were for guests who made an $85 deposit beforehand.(no such thing mentioned when we booked the reservation). With that, the experience at R2L did not start good. Food was not what we expected either, both appetizers & entrees (bland). If you're looking to dine in a quiet, romantic setting (window seat a bonus) then R2L is a restaurant I'd recommend. However, if you're looking to satisfy your appetite with a delightful & enjoyable meal? I'd suggest looking elsewhere to dine. 😒
Disappointed. We went for our 2 year anniversary and I felt uncomfortable and embarrassed with the restaurant. I have been here before and have always had a great time, but not this time unfortunately. Our waiter was distant, and when asking for my id ( i look young, I understand the need to ask) he held it up to every light for much longer than necessary to where both tables on either side of us were looking, I felt embarrassed. He then asked us 3 times if we wanted a starter, which we declined three times in ONE conversation. He seemed almost offended that we weren't ordering more food. Our food came out within 10 minutes, Our waiter asked us If Our food looked okay, and then we did not see him again until 45 minutes AFTER we finished eating to clear our plates. We sat with dirtied plates in front of us for over a half an hour. The rest of the night continued the same way. All in all, as much as I love the restaurant, I don't know if I will ever be back. We were treated like we were kids playing dress up and couldn't afford to be there. It was embarrassing and Insulting.
I was not at all impressed with my experience. We were not able to sit by the window, but it would not have mattered since it was raining and very cloudy. We did not order appetizers, and our main entrees came out within 15 minutes, which normally I would love, but it felt as though we were being rushed for not getting appetizers. Then, it took about 20 minutes after we finished our food for it to be cleared, and another 20 minutes to be asked about what we wanted for dessert. The only thing that saved the tip was they brought out a complementary dessert for our anniversary. The prices were high, which I fully understand why, but not worth the experience we had. For the money that I paid, I was not at all impressed.
We loved the atmosphere, the view was AMAZING. Unfortunately our dining experience there was not. We had an 8:30 reservation and we were not sat until 9:15. Fortunately for us the view kept us occupied . When we were finally sat at the table the waiter was very professional and accommodating. The food was mediocre at best. If I was to return to there again it would probably be for cocktails and some appetizers.
Interesting menu -lots of flavorful options. Portions were pretty big. We enjoyed the cocktails - because the wine list was too extravagant for us. We were not rushed at all, but not seating in spot where we could appreciate the view. Odd though that we could see the basketball game on the tv in the bar area...
We made reservations about a month ago to hopefully celebrate an Eagles victory in the Super Bowl and our wish came true. We had a great meal with a beautiful view of the sunset. R2L is a great restaurant to celebrate your special occasion. Fly Eagles fly!!!!!
We went for our one year anniversary and were treated like royalty! It’s all in the details here. We greeted by our server who immediately congratulated us on our anniversary. They had champagne on the table waiting for us! Every detail was perfect. And as for the food and the views - they speak for themselves! Will absolutely go back!
The Arugula/Mushroom Flatbread, 2 1/2 LB Lobster, Mac & Cheese were delicious. My fiancé ordered the Salmon and Cheddar Grits and he said it was tasty. The only thing was, it was our Anniversary and we requested a table with a view but they sat us next to the bar. It would’ve been nice if we had a view, it would’ve been more romantic. But overall, we enjoyed ourselves and the food is good and we will come back.
