R2L Ratings and Reviews
Could of gotten more for the money that was spent. I received a $9 dollar voucher for my parking ticket that I couldn't even use for the lot that I used that was apart of the restauraunt. R2L is nice, but it didn't feel me up at all and the price of the food is just out of my range. The view and the restaurant is very amazing.
We tried r2l for the first time during restaurant week. Enjoyed the window view from the 37th floor, service was great, and the food was wonderful but small in portion. My husband wanted more oysters the serving size was 4 at $14.00 He also wanted a larger piece of banana cream pie and I wanted more shrimp on my entre.
Overall, R2L was not worth the money! I went for rest.week got the seared tuna which was good. the filet mignon and short ribs.. was pretty bad. it was just meat chunks mixed with some sauce and with meager amounts of potatoes and pasta. the chocolate dessert was okay. Our server was really nice, but super slow. it took 30min just to get the check and get the check back from it.
I went to R2L with my roommate as a girl's night out. I very much enjoyed the view that we got to see of the city, as well as the ambiance of the entire restaurant. The only drawback I would argue is the filet mignon. Maybe it was because it was a menu on the restaurant week special, but I found the meat to be hard (can't think of a better word)? It wasn't soft and juicy and melt-in-your-mouth sensation that you get when eating a really good piece of steak. Maybe overdone? The roasted prawn dish was amazing however. Other than the error with the meat in the filet mignon, everything served was of excellent quality. Great Service!
Had high hopes for R2L, but was somewhat disappointed in the portion sizes and presentation of food. Service was decent, and view was wonderful, but the food just did not match the ambiance unfortunately. I would not come back to pay regular prices for this.
The place is amazing. I mean the view that you're getting is priceless. I really liked it. Me and my boyfriend went there on a Sunday night and it was pretty busy since it was restaurant week. I immediately felt in love with our table and I really appreciated when I saw that they were satisfying my request for a table for two nearby the window. The food was in small portions but at the end of the night you felt stuffed so that's a pretty good. My plates though had extra salt and I really don't like that. Overall my short rib was exquisite!!!
Service was excellent and the view is spectacular. I was here for Restaraunt Week. The appetizer beet salad was good. I ordered the risotto and really didn't like it. It was way too thick and buttery. They graciously took it back without me asking and brought the salmon, which I really enjoyed. My husband got the filet tips and found them to be just ok. Desserts weren't bad. It's a nice place, very romantic and they treat you well. But this is not enough to make me go back. For me, great food is the first priority.
the food was very good but the portions were very small - 3 small prawns - and I do mean small - for the grilled prawn entree.I don't know if this was because we ordered from the restaurant week menu or this is just the way it always is - but if I had to pay the prices on the regular menu,I would have been disappointed.
The portions were very small but the quality was good. The service was lacking. They had a ton of bus people taking away our plates but rarely did we see our server. We had to ask for more bread twice and we wanted to order another round of drinks but no one ever came back to offer any. The views of the city were amazing and the way they have the tables set up, there are no bad seats anywhere.
My boyfriend and I continue to return to R2L in spite of some recent disappointments. The atmosphere, particularly the view, is superb. The food is creative, but a bit overpriced for the portions and inconsistency in quality. Servers are attentive, though somewhat inexperienced and would benefit from some basic training.
We went to R2L for dinner during Restaurant Week --- we requested to be seated next to the window, and The view was absolutely stunning! The restaurant is located on the 37th floor and provides a great view of the city. The recommended filet mignon and short ribs were good; the meat was very tender, but the presentation of the food was fairly plain. I was impressed, however, with their chocolate cremeux dessert, which had many layers of flavor - bitter, sweet, acidic. I was a little disappointed with their service; our server seemed to be a little too busy that night. We also had a busser who dropped utensils twice (once on our table, once on the floor) when clearing the tables.
We had a wonderful time. Our waiter was fantastic. The only annoyance was we had a reservation with a confirmation number and they also e-mailed us to confirm. Then I received a phone call again asking for confirmation, but when I didn't return their call by a certain time, they said they gave our reservation away and weren't very nice about it. A little overkill as I felt harassed. It all got straightened out, but it did put a damper on the beginning.
We had a wonderful evening from start to finish. It was my husbands 52nd birthday, they acknowledged it with champagne and a Happy Birthday candle in our dessert. We will definitely go back and bring our friends this time to enjoy this great find.
Mixed feelings about R2L. Started with a phone call that afternoon stating if I don't confirm my reservation. I would be cancelled and if late they would also cancel. I made this reserv. 2 months ago and felt that phone call was rude. (plus i did call the day before to confirm) We got there early and asked if we could have a window seat and hostess said no that is for someone important?! What does that mean! Rude again! Not feeling the love! Almost left but stayed! It was our date night for my husband and i & wanted to enjoy it! Thankfully waiter and bar staff were great! We enjoyed our food but felt was over priced! In that price range there are better places to go! Sorry I never write reviews but this time I wanted to share.
The views were incredible, we had a window seat. The place was dark and quiet, perfect for a romantic evening. The food was amazing from the romaine salad to the perfectly cooked lobster. The service was first rate, everyone was attentive but not overbearing. We will definitely be going back!!
Our night out at R2L was hands down one of the best dining experiences ever. I've been to restaurants everywhere I go, whether for business or fun. R2L beat them all easily. It is great for a romantic date, and I'm sure it would be fun with a group of friends.
We went to R2L for my wife's birthday. We were greeted with a champagne toast. The view was phenomenal. The food was outstanding and the service was top-notch. We eat out pretty often and we both agreed that this was the best meal we had in quite some time. The filet mignon was to die for and the warm vanilla cake was out of this world. I recommend going right before sunset. That way you get to see the city and river during the day, twilight, and nighttime sky all in one meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
