The open kitchen and the hand-crafted cocktail menu complete the R2L experience.
Start your meal with lobster bisque or tuna sashimi, followed by a main course of old country braised pork or vegan roasted cauliflower. R2L Ratings and Reviews
The view is outstanding, the food is amazing. It seems very loud, because the staff barely speak and you have to strain to hear them. Otherwise it was a good experience. The prices are high, but you're paying for the view and the food is good, so I can see why it is expensive.
The view of Philadelphia at night was fantastic. Our waitress was attentive and the menu was sufficiently varied. We were a bit surprised that gluten free items were not noted. Our meal was perfectly prepared and well presented on the plate. The bartender was skilled in making our drinks. Dessert was right sized and well prepared.
This is a very posh restaurant. The ambiance was just perfect. The view was amazing. The food was delicious............my favorite........the lobster mac and cheese was to die for !!! The staff was excellent......very attentive to all our needs. The location was perfect. I will absolutely return!
Scenery was nice, the view over the city was amazing. The bar seating was not crowded. The appetizer was the best, although our entree were not as expected. I felt like I paid for the way our plates were presented to us instead of quality. My wife didn’t even finish her salmon and French fies(who does that in a 4-5 star restaurant?) I absolutely will not be making any reservations here again. We had more fun at a dive bar afterwards continuing our anniversary night.
R2L was a very quaint restaurant despite the amount of the people. The Lobster Bisque was creamy and scrumptious and the Pumpkin spice cheesecake was perfectly sweet, with a hint of the nutmeg and sea salt cutting through it. For the main course, I had the seasonal rabbit with sweet potato puree. It was a little too sweet for my taste, especially with the marshmallow garnish. It took out the gamey-flavor of the meat and it could have been executed better.
Apart from this, my server was very amicable, and the ambience was perfect for me, despite being a solo-diner. I will be visiting this restaurant again!
We were there to meet a relative we hadn’t seen i a long time. The music was a little loud and it was hard to hear each other while we were catching up. Everyone was very nice and service was good. The bottle of Pinot we ordered was too cold as was the tuna appetizer that I ordered. Once things got to room temperature the food was fresh and tasty.
The service : remarkable. The food : outstanding. I enjoyed this monthly dinner out at R2L none of us had ever been. We will be back. Everything was so tasty and portions allowed us to all go home with doggy bags. Jamir was our server and he deserves all the raises one could get. Amazing all around ❤️❤️
Great food. My first drink was watered down. The receptionist at the front of the restaurant floor entrance told us to sit at the bar until they located our reservation or found a place for us to sit in the uncrowded restaurant. We waited for about seven minutes until I asked the young lady about our seat. Only then did she accommodate us. I believe second chances so we will return only because of the ambiance and food. Lobster Mac and Cheese was incredible!
Dinner was special and terrifically prepared. Smallish menu provides for excellent quality and presentation. Lobster Bisque and Beef Tenderloin + Short Rib; Tuna Shashimi and Veal Chop. Side of roasted Brussels Sprouts rounded out the meal. Our server Jamier was the perfect host.
Very disappointing! We went there for reviews of the beautiful views and it was truly disappointing. I will say the furniture and tables were beautiful. Even though we made a reservation we waited an extra 20 minutes. The restaurant had several open tables yet it took over 30 minutes to get our food. We spent 2 hours there from putting our name in to getting the Check. I ordered the tuna which was over cooked and the server was very polite about bringing me a new dish. Overall do not recommend and won’t be back.
My girlfriend and I went there for our anniversary, and boy did this place not disappoint! The ambiance, the service, the food but most of all, the view (if you manage to score either a window side or window facing table)!! The only small hiccup was that our entrees took a little long to get to us but everything else makes up for it. I’d recommend the Porter House Porkfor main and the Crisp Risotto for sharing. I had an Old Cuban cocktail and it was on point!!!
This was our third time at R2L this year (ash we could go 3 times every year, but the budget may not support that!), and this experience was our best yet! I would go so far as to say it was amazing. Our reservations were right at sunset, so the view from the 37th floor was fantastic. Our seats were perfect for watching day turn into night. Every single course was phenomenal. The lobster bisque is otherworldly with a perfect spicy kick. We had the fried risotto to share and it too was amazing. Each of our entrees (braised short rib and filet combo, veal chop, and 2 rabbit dishes; sides of Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese) was truly without flaw. Our desserts (chocolate hazelnut treat, vanilla cake) were a great way to end the experience. The service was impeccable - everyone went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. I cannot wait to go back!
The space was perfect for a business dinner after a conference. While there were minor issues regarding the wine list and receiving a side with everything else, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was perfect and we couldn't have asked for anything more! Would definitely go back for any special occasion in Philly or business dinner. The view was incredible.
