Riccardo was born in Florence, Italy and grew up in Boston, MA. Marybeth, a Sioux Falls native, ventured to the east coast as a nanny and then nursing school in Somerville, MA. The two met, fell in love, and became engaged on Martha’s Vineyard island. Moving back to Sioux Falls in 1999 and working at several area restaurants, they opened R Wine Bar in 2018. As owners of R Wine Bar, Riccardo and Marybeth are passionate about one thing: people. They believe that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. The food was very good but one of the entrees was only lukewarm. The appetizer was very good. The wine was good but a bit pricey. The area we sat in was noisy and it was difficult to converse at times. The service was very good.

My wife and I really enjoyed our time here. The music was phenomenal. The Ricotta appetizer was absolutely to die for. Everything else was very good.

Great place. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars across the board is after asking us if we wanted to see a dessert menu the gentleman never brought one and then 10 minutes later the server came by and brought the check. Other than forgetting us at the end, it was a great experience.

Awesome food! My only (and this is SO minor) suggestion is to have slightly larger table tops on your high tops for two. Our waiter was great, the live music was top notch, and the wine and brews were great!

This is such a special place. From the moment we walked in we felt so welcome. Our waiter was amazing. The bruschetta appetizer is my favorite. The main dish was delicious as well. Be sure to save room for dessert!

We always have a great experience eating at the R bar. We love the jazz music by hegg brothers & always have wonderful wine pairings. I of course would have loved more Kale in my pasta, but otherwise that pasta is one of the best.

The food is delicious and I definitely recommend. We arrived with a reservation and were sat immediately. The live music was great and kept us entertained. Our server was very attentive and our food was delicious. This amazing restaurant in the heart of Sioux Falls is a ten out of ten pick for anyone who wants great food.

We had an early reservation but were given a table in a bad location just feet away from where servers picked up the orders. Lots of chit chat among the staff at the pickup site. Ironically, our service was minimal and slow. We could see our food setting on the warming station for at least five minutes. On the opposite wall from our table was a door through which two musicians were carrying equipment, resulting in a January draft. Also ironically, no overhead music was playing either, so that left a void in the atmosphere too. Our food was good but nothing outstanding, especially for the price and the lack of service.
