R. Davidson Chophouse
R. Davidson Chophouse first opened its doors to the public on February 18th 2016. Since opening we strive to serve exquisite food and give excellent service. We specialize in traditional American steakhouse fare including Filets, New York Strips, Ribeyes, Porterhouses, and more. Our side dishes range from Lobster Macaroni and Cheese to Garlic Smashed Potatoes, and are portioned to be shared with others at your table. The wine list is both exceptional and unique to this town as we tend to find wines that other dining establishments haven’t yet discovered. Our cocktail menu rotates with the seasons, utilizing fresh berries and herbs to highlight our spirits.
Server didn’t have too much interest in us. Heard him say smart comments when I did it want another drink. Food was outstanding
Love everything about this restaurant. We were 6 people and had a blast!!!
Always a pleasure to dine here! One of our favorite places in town for special occasions.
I enjoyed my experience for date night here. The dessert and the food. Omg‼️‼️‼️‼️ I will be back
The waitress gave my boyfriend a steak instead of a burger, he ate French fires because he didn’t want to wait on anything else to be cooked.
My husband and I visited to celebrate our anniversary. This was our second time eating there. The food, drinks, and service were exceptional. We will definitely return.
Very nice environment. The food was high quality and delicious.
We were celebrating a special birthday. The service as always was excellent. The steaks were very good, but the sides were very rich and heavy. I’ve eaten here several times and I wish they’d change the menu up a little
Great Sunday brunch. Our waiter, John, was helpful and friendly.
Easy reservation process. Our table was ready upon arrival. Our server was awesome! We had cocktails, appetizers and steak with lobster. All food was wonderfully prepared and tasted great. We will definitely be back!
One of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time! Perfectly prepared!
The food was good but the service was so slow even though there weren't that many people there due to the social distance requirements.
Red wine stored/displayed on the walls . Looks nice but wine has lights directed onto the wine which heats it, adding additional heat to the Alabama “ room temp “. Please note the recommended temp to serve red wine. Had the seafood pasta dish. It was very good but the scallops and shrimp were so salty that It sucked the life out of your mouth . Also had the duck which was cooked perfectly. However it had blackberry compote which was good but the seeds were left behind which left an awkward texture to the food. Bread and desert was fabulous . It was a good meal and nice dining experience that could easily been a 5 star with some adjustments. The hot red wine was the most frustrating and disappointing part of the meal.
Took our daughter and friends out for a good dinner. Everyone cleared their plate. Felt safe and the restaurant followed safety guidelines
The service was great!! Could not have asked for a nicer waiter. However the food wasn’t great. Two of the three steaks were over cooked than requested and even had a burn char on the exterior of them. The lobster Mac and cheese was ok as well. It had been way better in the past.
Great!!! From beginning to end. Outstanding
Everything was amazing!!!!! The food was fast and good. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant for a date night.
My experience was amazing but it always is. It was my friend's first experience and he also throughly enjoyed it.
The food was excellent. Steak and pork chops were cooked perfectly. The portobello fries were great.
Our first time dining at RDC won't be our last. Menu delivered great balance of flavor, comfort and portions. Great service from Josh added to our experience!
Third time there and food was very salty each time.
A little disappointed this time. Been many times before and always 4+ stars. Steaks were mediocre at best. Not great quality beef and not seared well. Fries were underdone. Wedge salad had burned edges on the lettuce, obviously not the way you’re supposed to serve salad! Martinis didn’t fill the glasses and weren’t cold. Grilled oyster app was great. Hoping for a better experience next time and chocking it up to a bad night in the kitchen.
Steak was perfectly cooked at medium rare to rare. Sides were plentiful to split and very good.
This is our go to place on T-town for at least one meal during visits.
Service is good and very professional something hard to do in a college town.
Steaks were great. Drinks are weak as they have a single ounce of liquor policy for all drinks, yet charge prices of drinks with regular pours.
Took my freshman son & roommate to dinner to celebrate my son’s 18th birthday. The 24-layer cake slice was huge and fantastic!
Ron our waiter was THE BEST EVER! He did not disappoint from the wine suggestion to the food! This was our first time because we moved our son into his dorm and wanted to celebrate my husbands birthday before we left town! WE WILL be back every chance we get to visit Tuscaloosa!! Thank you for a fabulous and delicious meal! #rolltide See ya’ll in September!
Now that we are Bamaly this is our celebration dinner night out. Staff is always friendly. Clean and following Covid Standards felt safe. Food always delicious. Only thing is rather sit downstairs upstairs not as pretty. But will request next time.
Our favorite go to restaurant in Tuscaloosa. Best filets in town. Always satisfying.
Was my first visit and my girlfriends . It was her birthday. We had an awesme evening and it was a wonderful meal. The waiter was great. Food was delicious
Best food in Tuscaloosa. Great service. Steaks were perfect and lobster Mac and cheese was delicious. We will be back!
Great family dinner
Very enjoyable. Excellent service! Waiter was delightful.
We dined earlier in the evening. Ambiance would have been better if we dined later, 8 pm or later.
Great spot for a terrific dinner. Even with Covid guidelines it was very busy. Drinks took a bit long to get to the table, and being that it's smack dab right in the middle of "Roll Tide" territory, we were taken by surprise that our server wore an Auburn facial covering? Not cool:(
Our service was amazing. First time there and food was delicious. Definitely recommend.
We really enjoyed having dinner here. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was very nice. We took our son here before dropping him off for move-in day and he had a wonderful time. The food was very good. We had steaks all around. Unfortunately, my filet was a bit over cooked, but tasty. The lobster ravioli was not very good and I would pass on the lobster Mac and cheese, as the only flavor that came across was the smoked paprika. The fries were good and the creamed spinach was okay, but nothing to write home about. The dessert was absolutely amazing! My son ordered the 24 layer chocolate fudge cake and he loved it. The service was great!
Dined here the night before dropping our daughter off for college - great food, great service - great night all around.
The drinks were great. The best margarita and white Russia we have ever had. Food was amazing. There wasn’t anything we had that wasn’t awesome. Nice quiet place and the manager is awesome
