    Take part in the most traditional English pastime of afternoon tea in the heart of Oxford. With its large windows looking onto the famous colleges, Quod is the perfect stopping point during a walk of the city. Enjoy classic egg & cress or ham and mustard sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream and jam and a cup of tea or perhaps a glass of champagne.     We have been to Quod many times before and had an enjoyable experience. We went in May for my sons birthday and the food was good and we were treated to a free glass of prosecco at our table. My son had a small scope of ice cream with happy birthday written on it, which was a nice gesture. We decided to go back for my daughters 22nd birthday on Saturday 19th July. We were all so disappointed I am not sure if we will ever go back. No recognition whatsoever of my daughters birthday and the food was awful. Has the chef changed or was it because it was busy? With a bill of £357.00 it was awful food, I could cook better myself. My husband had the salmon fishcakes they were orange and dry and he only ate one as he said they tasted dry and awful. I had the Bibury trout in parsley sauce it was very bland and didnt have any taste. I cook fish and seabass a lot at home and mine tastes better. My daughter had spaghetti with prawns and she said it had no sauce just spaghetti and 4 prawns with no taste. My son had the burger and said it was awful and I cook a nicer one at home. We were very very disappointed and if this is the standard of food will not return. What has happened to the once tasty nice food???? The only nice thing was the wine.

    Food was really average, even though the server was friendly and helpful. Burger was particularly average, fish cakes fine but a bit mass produced tasting and looking. Overall seemed not that fresh or high quality ingredients.

    We had a delicious lunch in Quod. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Loved the food - burrata salad and salmon salad - and we had a great table next to the terrace - cool and shady on a warm day. It was fun to chat to the staff (I exchanged wild swimming places with our charming waitress). I liked the fact that they were flexible - we could change our table from outside to in - and the atmosphere is lively without being noisy. Great place for a special lunch!

    This is a good place to eat when in Oxford. It is bang on the High Street so easily accessible. If the weather is good see if the friendly maitre d' can get you a table on the terrace

    Good food, excellent service, in pleasant surroundings. My only criticism of Quod, which I often visit with friends and colleagues, is that there is too much echo, so that it is hard to hold a conversation. I wish the restaurant owners would install acoustic features on the ceiling and/or walls to improve this rather important aspect of dining out!
