   Restaurant setting/ambiance was good , but overall service was very poor not a smile given once during the meal and after we payed the waiter just walked away and didn’t say anything what’s so ever . Food was okay , very standard for the price you pay .

   Croutons in the chicken salad were inedible. Otherwise up to the usual standard.

   This is superb restaurant with great food and excellent staff. It is a beautiful setting and great place to enjoy time with friends or as a couple .

   Always on my list when in Oxford: nice terrace on good weather days, cozy interior on meh days, and always very good food.

   Nice evening - given a table outside which was a bonus . Good food and excellent service .

   The chicken thighs on the set menu were rather chewy (tough) and the veg a tad soggy, it was also too salty. I wouldn’t call the staff that warm and friendly.

    Having read extensively on Trip Advisory where to eat in Oxford I picked Quod as part of a surprise birthday out for my husband. We did a walking tour first and actually crossed the road right by the restaurant so I have no concerns about finding it later. We were able to have a drink at the bar first which was so light and airy and most usual decor, quiet no doubt as it was a Tuesday. The weather was amazing and we sat on the terrace which was just beautiful. Cool and covered with greenery and right by the fountain. The service was first class and the food as well. We could see that the starters were very generous and just went for a main course. Salmon and Dill fishcakes and Salmon salad. Both excellent - fish really well good, still moist and juicy and not over done. The wine list is extensive and it is nice to have a good choice by the glass or 500ml - wish more places did this. I would love to come back, perhaps book a room. Highly recommended.
