What Insiders Are Saying
Quiote is a Mexican spot in Logan Square that works for just about anything. Come for coffee, on a date, or just to have some mezcal at the bar.
This was our second visit to Quiote but will NOT be our last! Besides outstanding Mescal choices and margaritas, the dinner menu was a fabulous succession of small share-able plates. One after the other we were blown away with the flavors and creativity. The waitress and entire wait staff were superb. Informative, attentive, unobtrusive. Our group of 5 enjoyed the heck out of this evening and spent the following day recounting the wonderful plates to one another. Great job Quiote!!!!
We were traveling through Chicago and had already done some research on this restaurant, noticed they had won an award and also they were recommended by another restaurant owner in Michigan. We booked it through Open Table as they seemed to fill up and we didn't want to miss this opportunity. Food was outstanding. Service just as good. Had an interesting downstairs that apparently was a bar with food service from a food truck parked on their property. Really a neat idea. Waitperson said we should check it out but since we were more than satisfied with our meal chose not to. Next time in time we will.
The food is amazing in that each dish has so much flavor with different tastes. Everything is delicious and in addition to their cocktails, the winds are great too.
Mole chicken and cocktails were great. Very friendly service!
Great food, fun staff, cool environment. Highly recommend!
Fantastic tacos. Super. Great find.
Food was fantastic. Service top notch and very attentive. Warm, beautiful space.
Amazing food and cocktails! Never disappoints. We love the avocado salad and crab tostada
We loved the food and our service was excellent! We will be back soon!
Delicious cocktails and food, unexpected flavor combinations that were delightful and well balanced, staff was knowledgeable and attentive, will def be back!
Love the food and everyone who works there is amazing!!
Quiote really amazed me! I've heard good things over and over again about this restaurant and am disappointed that I didn't make it until now. Really AMAZING food! Fun, inventive, and so delicious.
Quiote uses ingredients and methods that are familiar to eaters of Mexican cuisine, but it may have been elevated by technical sophistication and borrowings from other (one of our dishes featured a piece of smoked fish more reminiscent of the classy Jewish deli) into something new. High marks for creativity and execution.
We come here as often as possible. It is consistently one of the best meals in the city. The menu is always evolving, but both the food and drinks are always phenomenal. Cannot recommend this place more strongly.
Great food fun environment
Outstanding chicken with Mole sauce
Always great flavors and unique dishes. Great beverage program as well.
I definitely enjoyed the creative pairings and tapas style dining. I was able to try several dishes and still have room for dessert. I had a delicious hibiscus mezcal margarita and the service was outstanding. Definitely would go back with a larger group.
Food was very good along with the service but very overpriced for the portions you received. If they fixed the value (portion) it would be perfect. Unfortunately nothing was done for our friends birthday that we mentioned besides a candle in the dessert that he ordered and paid for.
Previously went for dinner and loved it. Went to brunch and it was fabulous. So many good choices. Nice size portions and reasonably priced.
Six of us went and we all loved our food. Will happily go back.
Delicious and unique Mexican that is always spot on. We love coming back for the great cocktails, curated wine list and extremely delicious food.
Took some out of town friends here for brunch and it lived up to my expectations, having been for brunch and dinner (once each) before. The food is absolutely delicious, the bar and waitstaff are both great - super friendly, nice, and accommodating. Brunch is a little on the expensive side but worth it. Dinner is, in my opinion, a little bit exorbitantly priced. Wish I could come for dinner more often!
Excellent food and service in an upbeat environment. Next time we’ll stay longer to check out the mezcal bar! Looking forward to going back.
Drinks were great, service was slow but good. Very few vegetarian options, and not a single entree. For my meat eating friends it’s a better find.
Service was slow. Waiter was covering too many people.
Requested an outside table and was told they were reserved already. Ate in the front area and watched a table outside remain empty for the entire hour we there.
My food was delivered Luke warm. Returned it and by that time was no longer interested in eating.
I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant and have no intentions of returning
We came here for brunch with my niece who is a celiac. The server kindly marked all of their menu options for her that were already or could be made gluten-free. Everyone was friendly and attentive but down to earth. The brunch entrees we ordered were great and portions were generous. One in my party ordered a Bloody Mary which was not bad, but on the bland side for a Bloody Mary. But if that minor thing is the only negative, then it's good. Definitely coming back to this place but would like to try dinner.
I’ve never had food quite like it! So much fun to share these small and medium plates with a friend!
All around an absolutely fantastic experience! Make sure to take time to go to underground Mezcal bar before your reservation; well worth the time!
Super friendly and helpful bartender (Izzy), had the best summer cocktail ever, and the food was exceptional. My new fave brunch spot.
We went for a Sunday brunch. We made a reservation for 4 at 10am, but it wasn't necessary. The restaurant was not crowded. Food was absolutely delicious. The cocktails were interested and wonderful. They have a lot of Mezcal options, but a good selection of other drinks as well. I had the vegetarian tacos and they were fantastic. Would definitely recommend.
Great food and super service - I love it the sever/bartender introduces themselves my name!
We sat at an outdoor table and shared 6 dishes amongst 5 of us. All the food and drinks had a very creative element. Would definitely go back to try the dishes and drinks we missed this time. The server was excellent. She was knowledgeable of the menu and happy to help.
Some of the best Oaxacan food in Chicago. Great menu and great service.
Awful for vegetarians and very overpriced. The waitress wasn’t very accommodating. Didn’t offer many alternatives or swaps. I wished we would’ve walked out without ordering. Worst $100 I have spent.
Great food! Just wish there were more vegetarian options!
One of the best meals I’ve ever had. A friend and I shared the crab tostada, burrata salad, tamale and quail dish. Also enjoyed a glass of ginger beer, and didn’t even miss the alcohol! The ambience and vibe is fun, yet sophisticated. Although we dined indoors, their outdoor cafe and patio is hip, beautiful and welcoming. Don’t miss this great place!
This was my second time coming to Quiote. Overall the food is decent with a few exceptions that are truly outstanding. Don't leave without trying the rock shrimp fritters, quail, and tres leches cake, fantastic! The avocado smash drink is also phenomenal and refreshing!
Outstanding place for brunch! Worth the trip if you don't live in the neighborhood. We had the steak & egg avocado toast and the crab & egg avocado toast. Both were full of flavor and prepared to perfection.
Fantastic well executed menu, great for sharing and trying many items. Good service.
This place never disappoints! The chef is a creative genius. The portions are the perfect sharing size. Go with a big group so you can try more! The cocktails are also among the best I’ve had at a nouveau-Mexican-style place. Definitely recommend the fried oyster tacos, the bone marrow (and I’ve never been a fan of bone marrow!), and the chicken molé!! But the menu changes periodically so there’s always something new to try!!
Had tried Quiote approximately a year ago and had a very pleasant experience. However, was very disappointed by the service this time around - dishes came out in a haphazard manner, nobody asked us for a second round of drinks, one dish never made it out of the kitchen. The food, while good, was not as meticulously assembled as on the previous occasion. There are many excellent options in Chicago. I am not sure if I would give this one another shot.
