Chefs Rafael Lopez & Ben Hughes opened a small intimate Bistro with flavour lead and produce driven food. Local farms are visited daily to gather ingredients to create dishes with. Fine dining in a relaxed dining room. Located on Westgate High street amongst other independent shops and a short walk from the sea front. The Restaurant features in both the Michelin Guide & the Good Food Guide, and is listed in the top 100 restaurants in the UK.

This place is consistently good and seems to just get better. A warm welcome, exemplary service, superb food and great value. Cannot fault it.

Been meaning to visit for some time and now regret not doing having done so sooner. I real nugget. Excellent food and service and very good value. Will definitely be going back

The restaurant was far too noisy & made the evening not very relaxing. One of our party was elderly & found it too dimly lit. Some lamps on the tables would be nice. The staff were very pleasant but couldn’t help. The food was 4/5 but we felt very overpriced.

A lovely meal- fine food, well cooked, sizeable helpings, and friendly helpful staff in an attractive dining room overlooked by the kitchen. And a well judged wine list.

Enjoyed all three courses, food was beautifully presented with amazing flavours. Bavette steak was amazing. We were well looked after and the service charge was well deserved. Value for money will go back.

Excellent food and good selection of wines to choose from.Waiter’s very friendly and knowledgeable about the wine to help you choose the wine Would happily go back, this was our second visit.

We are so fortunate to have a gem of a restaurant: Quince in Westgate. We’ve dined at Quince on numerous occasions and have always enjoyed excellent meals from the outstanding value set lunch and the more extended a la carte lunch and dinner menus. The owners and chefs Rafael Lopez and Ben Hughes create exquisite dishes with a variety of flavours and textures and often use local produce. Ian and Portia always offer a warm welcome and ensure a friendly, relaxed atmosphere with excellent knowledgeable service. On our last visit, following an amuse bouche, we both enjoyed a delicious starter of beetroot and strawberries flavoured with whipped goat’s curd and basil; apparently the beetroot had been freshly picked that morning from Rafa’s allotment. After this I had sea bass, peperonata and cockles accompanied with broccoli, soy and honey butter. I was delighted with a birthday card which had been signed by the whole team. There is a great wine list, with many available by the glass and also special cocktails. As Quince is only a minute’s walk from the station we could relax without having to worry about driving home. Quince has been featured in the Michelin guide and we both agree that is well deserved.

Very good service, nice ambiance, unfortunately, only 6 other customers. Food imaginative and well presented, rather expensive wines. Overall nice experience.
