Situated in San Francisco's historic Jackson Square, Lindsay and Chef Michael Tusk's Quince features a nightly tasting menu that highlights the seasonal bounty of Northern California. The cost of the tasting menu is $275.
Due to the complexity of the menu, it may not be possible to accommodate all dietary restrictions. Please note, our menu relies quite heavily on shellfish and dairy-based ingredients.
Chef Tusk was named “Best Chef: Pacific” by the James Beard Foundation in 2011. In 2012 the San Francisco Chronicle bestowed a fourth star to Quince. In 2016 Quince was awarded its third Michelin star, which it holds to this day.
Quince requests all cancellations be made at least 48 hours prior to avoid a $275 per person (plus tax) late cancellation fee; this policy also applies to same day reservations.

Thankfully we asked for a paired down version of their 14 course prefixed menu.
Some items were lacking flavor and acid....
the lobster pasta dish such a phenomenal idea, poorly executed with little to zero flavor. (Pictured below)
The truffle pasta dish served in the box also pictured below and seriously lacking any type of real flavor. I was extremely disappointed to see two women wearing jeans to our left, after we were heavily warned about the dress code while making our Reservation. I have nothing against jeans in fact I would’ve liked to been in my black jeans would’ve been much more comfortable for this dinner, but we didn’t want to be turned away upon arrival. The service was impeccable. There is nothing like there whatsoever.
I have been there a few times before and really loved the place but this last time missed the mark. After 2 years their 2 first courses have not changed and the rest of the meal felt bland. Nothing stood out and I left the restaurant not really feeling like I had eaten at a 3 star Michelin, but my wallet did! Shame this place used to be great.
Kathryn and I have never had a BETTER DINING EXPERIENCE in all of our combined years. "Amazing" does not do it justice. For a special occasion or special dinner, this is THE place. You do NOT need to be a food expert, just be able to enjoy an unbelievable evening with unmatched food and service. The General Manager (Matt) makes sure everything is perfect for you, and I'm not just sayin' that. He and his entire staff insisted we were at the most comfortable table and every single thing was handled beautifully over the four plus hours we were there. We were lucky enough to get to sit in the chef's kitchen for one of our thirteen courses and oh man, what a treat. You want the treat of a lifetime? Dine here, at least once. Michael Tusk & his team clearly demonstrated that the enhancement of our dining experience at Quince was a priority for them . While the exquisite culinary dishes exceeded our expectations, the presentation, ambiance, decor and artwork was complemented by welcoming aura of every one at Quince, from the moment we arrived, throughout our visit with special surprises, until our departure with hot chocolate! We would not hesitate to give the highest recommendation!
The ultimate special occasion dining experience! Each course was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgable. The ambiance was elegant, yet still warm and inviting. It was a memorable evening for me and my guests, and it was worth every penny.
My husband and I dine all over the world at 3 star restaurants and came to SF to dine after spending Thanksgiving in Sonoma. We were looking forward to a beautiful evening at Quince and were heart broken when the food did not come up to the standards we are used to.
The service and wine pairing at Quince was exceptional but the food was not. My husband made a comment and the chef made him something else. He came to our table and thru down the food with an attitude as if to say how dare you question my food. We will never come back. We have hundreds of Michelin Stars and we will not be adding this to our list.
The service was excellent from the time they opened the door for us til we got into the taxi. Even the people who weren’t our servers were very friendly and knowledgeable. I believe that they give one course in the kitchen to every table which was fun and interesting to see the choreography. Expensive but well worth it.
We chose Quince for the 30th birthday dinner for our son and his partner - we are all foodies and looked forward to the dinner. The restaurant is beautiful - tables are far apart so you have privacy. Beautiful photos on the wall, gorgeous flowers, very classy. Our waiter was really friendly as was the wine steward and all our servers - no one was snooty and the staff answered all of our questions and were very relaxed and made us feel comfortable. The only issue was that we had very long waits before we received anything to eat or drink other than water. Also there was no wine served until after we received our first course. My son and I did the wine pairings and my husband and my son's partner each had two half glasses of wine - one white and one red. The offer of half glasses was really a great benefit. But the wait between our being seated and the first course was 30+ minutes, and the waits between courses was really long until mid-meal. After that the courses came faster - ironic as they were larger portions. The friendliness of all the staff made up for the waits. All of the food was artistically presented and many interesting ingredients. I enjoyed most of the courses - particularly the black cod, the lobster pasta, the caviar [we didn't get the upgrade but loved what we got], and the venison. The wine pairings were interesting and we had at least two very rare wines in this group. I have had better pairings but these were quite good. Dessert included a special candled cake for our son, and passion fruit dessert was lovely AND there is a dessert bar! The entire presentation of the diner was very beautiful. No regrets - expensive but worth it!
So bummed when we had to cancel our reservation at The French Laundry last month due to the wild fires. Luckily, we found Quince. The chef/owner Michael Tusk is an awesome. The service was over the top and the foods were amazing. We had such a great time. 😊
Quelle expérience ! grands habitués des restaurants étoilés, il s’agit là d’un des meilleurs 3 étoiles que nous ayons découvert. Le salon où nous étions était très confortable et silencieux (rare aux États unis), le personnel était charmant, discret et extrêmement professionnel.
Les plats étaient tous aussi exceptionnels les uns que les autres et nous avons eu la chance d’en déguster un en cuisine ! aux côtés du chef et de sa brigade composée de 3 frenchies ;)
Encore merci à toute cette belle équipe et plus spécialement à son chef pour son talent et son humilité ainsi qu’à son nouveau chef pâtissier français qui va faire des étincelles...
The quality of their service really stands out and you never go wanting for anything. The food is so delicious, and the tasting menu progresses so seamlessly, that even though every dish is different, the whole meal feels like a well told story.
There are two optional add-ons to the menu, please consider taking one of them for extra delight
This was an exceptional experience and I couldn’t have had a better Birthday. The staff are all so kind and professional. We got to go meet the chef and eat at the chefs table for a course and it was so special I was in tears. Michael Tusk and his team definitely deserve their 3rd Michelin star. I especially wanted to acknowledge Sebastian our waiter and all of the employees who created such a memorable evening and one I’ll never forget.
This was an exceptional experience. We could see why it has 3 Michelin stars and other places we tried, like Gary Danko, have just one (just 1, I know, is a real accomplishment!). But the refinement behind everything at Quince is unparalleled - from the delicate artistry of the cuisine to such simple things as serving bread and butter. Highly recommend the wine pairing as well. You don't order off the menu; you just decide whether you want to eat there and they bring you what they are making that night, just go with the flow and plan to spend at least 2.5 to 3 hours.
This is a high end restaurant. They accommodate vegetarians well & also those who don't drink alcohol. We had their vegetarian tasting menu. The food was very good & creative, using unique items such as herbs & other ingredients. You have to leave 3 hours to dine here. Come here for a dining experience or special occasion. I am not giving it a 5 as the desert we got was not very good - essentially some chocolates, caramel & one other item - I would have expected a high end restaurant to prepare something such as a cake or mousse, for the price we paid of $250 per person, plus drinks, taxes, & tips. The Taj Campton Place still stands as my favorite high end place in San Francisco The 1st time we dined at Quince a few years ago one item came to us which was not vegetarian, but they more than made up for that error with the manager personally checking everything after & this time we did not have that problem. The 1st time we dined here, we were also shown the kitchen - very clean & organized.
Amazing food. The post 3rd Michelin star service, however, is an enormous and unfortunate distraction: they talk at you about the silverware and plates more than with you about the actual food. The last straw was when they left some corporate lifestyle magazine on the table, which we ignored and left behind. Why, when you reach the apex of food do you then try to turn your diners' attention completely away from...the food? I hope they lose their their third star so that we can get back to enjoying an exquisite meal.
