Situated in San Francisco's historic Jackson Square, Lindsay and Chef Michael Tusk's Quince features a nightly tasting menu that highlights the seasonal bounty of Northern California. Chef Tusk was named “Best Chef: Pacific” by the James Beard Foundation in 2011. In 2012 the San Francisco Chronicle bestowed a fourth star to Quince. In 2016 Quince was awarded its third Michelin star, which it holds to this day.

The cost of the tasting menu is $275. Quince requests all cancellations be made at least 48 hours prior to avoid a $275 per person (plus tax) late cancellation fee; this policy also applies to same day reservations. Due to the complexity of the menu, it may not be possible to accommodate all dietary restrictions. Please note, our menu relies quite heavily on shellfish and dairy-based ingredients.

Food was exceptional, however the price of the wine pairing seemed high however we thought it may be exceptional - so we gave it a try. The pours were meager and wines were slightly above average. They did not live up to the pricing.

The food was off the charts amazing. We expected a show (and got it) and thought we would be amazed by the food- and how. Everything about this dining experience not only lived up to expectations but even surpassed and surprised. I loved the elegant, understated, but thought through decor. I loved the choice in music (light, fun and modern.) I loved how the wait staff was trained in great detail down to how they held their bodies while serving. I loved the constant changes in place settings, keeping us amused with each new choice of serving dish. And last but not least, every bite was a surprise, and adventure, a feast for the eyes as well as the pallet. My favorite dish this particular evening was the pasta with squab- but really why choose? Everything was just beautiful. Thank you to this restaurant for such and amazing experience.

Booked for a birthday whilst visiting SF from overseas. Had a fantastic time. Very quiet atmosphere and extremely dim lighting. Felt like a special occasion. Service was exemplary and accommodating. Servings were small per plate but somehow just right so that we left feeling extremely full! Delicious and inventive as expected.

Sitting in the kitchen made the experience. The service was outstanding (as to be expected). I was slightly disappointed in the food however. What ended up being a $1K meal for two people with drinks and tip, I left feeling like I wasn’t blown away by the food.

To be fair the food wasn't bad when you finally get it. We arrived on time around 5:30 or so. We were presented with the wine list and the tasting menu, exchange a few words with a waiter.... To make it short.... we started eating 40 minutes into our dinner (pre-fix dinner). They managed to mess it up a couple of times after that. The portions were small and the execution was very average. The flow of the dinner was the most disappointing part. We dined in many Michelin star restaurants around the world. In addition to great food, most of them have this beautiful flow.... there is no waiting at all... there is always something on the table.... starting from the treats from the chef and ending with some treats from the chef.... We actually used to like Quince when it just opened on Octavia street... Unfortunately, they became very inconsistent shortly after the opening. To sum it up - we were very disappointed and I am sure we won't be back. Don't waste your money. You can find much better places at $275/person in the Bay Area.

It was quite a treat. The food, cocktails, service - everything was well thought out. The dishes were creative and beautifully plated, the ingredients were very fresh, and it was all thoughtfully served. The wait staff was very knowledgeable, accommodating, and friendly. Overall, it's clear how much effort goes into a meal and how the $275 tasting menu can end up being worth it.

My husband and I reserved a table here for our anniversary. The experience was flawless. From the valet parking (which was automatically added to our bill) to the wonderful glass of champagne at the bar, while learning about the intense cocktail program from principal bartender Michael, to being seating at a table in an intimate dining room, off the main room, to the exquisite tasting menu and wine pairings (Krug champagne with the caviar course? Yes, please!), to the farewell cups of hot chocolate as we headed back to the valet. An evening we’ll always treasure.

My husband let me pick any restaurant in San Francisco and after researching, I chose Quince. I’ve eaten at a few Michelin Star restaurants before, but this food blew me away. We opted for a wine pairing with each tasting course, and although pricey, each wine was paired perfectly and enhanced each dish, so it was worth it. The tasting desert was phenomenal. The gluten free birthday cake melted in my mouth. The service and attention to detail were outstanding. Well done!

2017 eines unserer besten Erlebnisse, dieses Jahr mit Abstand das enttäuschendste....
Service unterirdisch, Essen absoluter Durchschnitt, Personal desinteressiert und ohne jede Nachfrage, ob es in Ordnung war. Vegane Variante einfallslos. Laut Michelin 3 Sterne, im Vergleich zu anderen 3-Sternern dieses Jahr 0.

We all highly recommend Quince! What an amazing experience. Each course was a series of surprises. Layered flavors and textures. Our favorite two courses were the asparagus and the corn rendition. Hmmm, I say that and then there is the desert (course (s)). All delicious.

Our waitstaff was perfectly engaging. Interesting back drops to the procurement of each dish, the Michelin process, etc.

Other than the cost everything way exceeded expectations.

Our sons loved the hot chocolate to go for the ride home!

The Michelin guide obviously does not mess around with their stars and the fact that Quince has three really says a lot about the quality. It was an absolutely fantastic restaurant and being the first time for us in a three star (only had dinner at one stars before) I see a hard time ever enjoying another place now that I’ve gotten a taste of heaven.

Everything was fantastic, altough, even though it is easy to overlook the gazpacho I do have to voice my opinion of this dish. Presentation was flawless but the taste was bland and just watery and didn’t hold up to expectations.

But the rest of the food was absolutely out of this world, you’ll have to experience it for yourself to grasp.

We came for the food and next time in San Francisco we’ll make sure to return because of the service. Absolutely world class service.

Thanks for making this the best evening in SF.

The food was stunning and sublime. Our server was great. The wine pairings we're good but aside from the grüner and Brunello nothing mind-blowing.
However one of the servers refused to switch a plating when we asked offering to get small plates so we could share before walking away. Also the glass pours were not equal per person. And finally when we finished our desserts the server who came to take them away commented how "we were definitely in the clean plate club" like we were five year olds at a greasy-spoon not a middle aged couple at a three Michelin star restaurant. Very odd.
