Nestled on a side street behind the Atheneum, Queequeg’s offers a romantic spot for dinner in a fun bistro setting with an intimate bar scene. The cozy dining room with its warm color scheme and eclectic artwork radiates comfort. Our patio is a fun retreat from the hustle and bustle of town. Owners John Keane and Caroline Montgomery chose the name in reference to Melville’s character from “Moby Dick.” In the book he is described as a good looking young man, in the prime of his life, alive today…we’re sure he’d be a regular. Melissa, our server, greeted us with a warm smile and friendly greeting. Our meal was outstanding with the Kale Salad and Clam Chowder being the stand out dishes. Creative presentations and signature spices made bread service, one not to missed. For a traveler, this is a great spot to spend an evening. Job well done from the service staff to the kitchen.

Such a cozy spot on a winter’s evening! I especially appreciated how well I was seated and served as a single person. Bartender made an excellent Manhattan and my dinner was delicious.

We had a wonderful meal and a pleasant time on a busy Valentines night. JT, our bartender/server took good care of us and didn’t miss a beat. Nantucket Bay Scallops, prepared perfectly, no need to say more.

We had the bay scallops with corn chowder on special and the mussels. Absolutely the best we’ve ever had. Cozy and warm ambience and the service was impeccable. Hope to return someday in the summer!

Had a lovely experience at Queequegs last night. The perfect cozy spot for a winter meal. Low lighting, great music (not too loud) and a delicious meal. I had a deviled egg to start (love that you can order by the piece) and then the short ribs which were divine. Meat was tender and the mashed potatoes and veg with gravy was so tasty. Enjoyed a couple of glasses of Pinot noir with my meal. While I may have gone over my work expense budget it was well worth it. And honestly, it was middle of the road pricing for Nantucket so it won’t be hard to defend it. Will definitely go back again!

Best vodka gimlet ever! Mussels were plentiful and delicious. Dynamite shrimp had the perfect spicy kick. Crème brûlée was creamy and delicious. John provided great advice and excellent service. Can’t wait to dine their again.

We love Queequegs but last night my dinner was mediocre. I had chicken curry. The rice was all dried out and clumped up and didn’t love curry flavor. Appetizer ( tuna tartar) was excellent and shareable. Husband said his ( scallop special ) was excellent as well

Wanted to find a nice place for a dinner birthday celebration for my wife. Quequag’s was recommended. We remember walking through the patio when we had dinner with friends next door at Town a couple month’s back. Remember saying that we should try here next time, so we did. Not disappointed.

We made reservations for a birthday celebration, party of two. When we got there our table was available, which was great. The vibe/ambience was great too and the place is nice as well. The service was great too. Pricing is expensive but that's Nantucket so it's okay. We had for dinner the bolognese and then steak frites and that's where the disappointment was. The food didn't taste as agreat as expected. It was kind of greasy, oily taste, for lack of a better word. Not too too bad either, edible, but we expected much better. Also, for some reason the server didn't know of our birthday celebration. Not a biggie but it would've been nice if they had read the notes of the reservation and perhaps come with a (chargeable) special dessert for the birthday girl. So, just sharing my thoughts for whomever reads this.

We had a service dog. They were insistent that Massachusetts law did not allow a service dog. Had we not gotten there right at opening we would not have been allowed to stay. They are 100% incorrect about what is allowed.
