Queen Mary Royal Sunday Brunch
Handicapped parking as total disaster. In fact, parking an expensive total disaster. Sold as elegant experience but anything but! Someone’s idea of quality buffet brunch. That someone has little experience and little class. Bathrooms are a mess. Needs whole new management and revamp. Overpriced amateur and classless experience.
It’s was great , sat down right away ,,, drinks were offer upon sitting down .. every one was very attentive to us ,, the food was fresh very tasty and many choices n types .are mimosas were never empty , the band sounded amazing added a great touch to are date brunch . Excellent everything thing was perfect. The amount of food and choices was incredible. The service was the best, live music from the era of the Queen Mary. A must if your in Long Beach.
We found this buffet to be extremely expensive for what it was. The food was reasonable, but certainly not worth the price ($180 with tip - for two people). My girlfriend loves King Crab legs but was disappointed they were cold and rather bland. They didn’t seem fresh or well-cooked. The carving station is a huge deal for me, and the cuts seemed fatty and lack-luster. Mac ‘N’ Cheese seemed out of a box. Standard buffet fare like sausages, bacon etc. was fine, but typical of any buffet. Deserts were nice but weren’t the whole story.
Service was awesome, dining hall impressive, band/music was entertaining, as you’d expect.
Overall, okay buffet but horrible value for money. I wouldn’t recommend it solely based on this fact. Vegas buffets cost a fraction of the price and are equally as good, if not better. We enjoyed our stay but could have lived without the Royal Buffet Brunch, I’m sorry to say.
Always amazing food, environment and staff.
Beautiful!! The display and presentation and the options were amazing. Food and service were excellent. What a treat!
Nice time. Little pricey for overall food. Servers were great amd friendly!
I have been coming here for years, the food is always very good and the service is normally first rate. Unfortunately, during this visit our waiter was almost non existent, we had to flag him down on numerous occasions and he forgot to clear our dirty plates many times.
This is a very expensive brunch and usually worth it, not true for this visit.
We were treated like royall guests… Juan was wonderful… He introduced us to Commadore Everett seated,us at a beautiful table… Our service was fabulous… Our server has 27 years experience… Food was fabulous… Missed the Romain lettuce! Desserts were divine … The trio was mesmerizing. We really appreciated the birthday cake for our son Jeff! The trio play the best version of happy birthday ever! Fabulous experience thank you
We were celebrating my mom's 64th birthday and everything was amazing the staff was friendly and courteous the food was great the coffee was ridiculously delicious I had about five or six cups of coffee even the captain came out and brought my mom a birthday cake I would definitely do it again and I have already recommended it to my family and friends. I thank you for this great experience seeing a smile on my mom's face made it all worthwhile.
Great buffet with great service and entertainment!
Food is always amazing, so many choices.
Brunch was fantastic. The setup was the classy event I was looking to take my wife to. I do wish there was more of a dress code, although no one I saw was dressed too inappropriate.
Side note, I would love to see the ship restored to its former glory and it's true history instead of the disrepair many parts of the ship are currently in.
Was looking for a special place to celebrate my daughters 21st Birthday with family and friends. This was it, no one we invited had ever been to brunch here before. We were seated immediately and they even accommodated a few extra last minute guests. Their were so many food options I wish I had 2 stomachs. The staff was always there to fill up our drink and water glasses. They did a great job of clearing off empty plates quickly. We will definitely be back to celebrate more special occasions in the future. After the buffet we had a chance to walk off our meal and enjoy the view of Long Beach from the deck. Thank You!
The staff was very friendly, and the food was great. Would definitely go to the brunch again.
For a one time or special occasion I would recommend it. It is very expensive and even with a discount you still have to pay for parking. The service this time was really bad. I think because there were just two of us the waiter didn't give us much attention and we had to wait for a long time to ask for refills on coffee and to get our check at the end. Also he didn't speak very good English, couldn't even say orange juice. The jazz band was good and a nice change from the harpist who plays a harp on the ship that has horrible steel strings, so if you are a musician it's going to get on your nerves. The food was good but for almost 200.00 for two people it was just over priced for me as I do not eat all that much. The champagne is not included in the base price. It is a 10.00 premium to have champagne with your O.J. so that was a bummer.
Absolutely blew me away. Best overall brunch in So Cal. The atmosphere is unbeatable, the food was very good, and service was wonderful.
This was an amazing brunch in a great atmosphere. Something for everyone and more food options than you can possibly imagine.
The Queen Mary Royal Sunday Brunch was probably the best Sunday champagne brunch I have ever had. The food was delicious, plentiful and had great variety. The live music added to the feeling of old-time cruise ship opulence. Yes, the brunch was expensive, but it was worth it!
Awesome experience, just need to lower parking or price 10.00
Food is ok but deserts need to improved the only thing descent was the Flan the cakes taste like from the grocery store.
Enjoyed the music and overall experience. Felt the temperature of some if the foods could of been more controlled. Example being crab legs served warmed.
Best brunch I’ve been to. Will absolutely do it again.
The decor is marvelous, the food was excellent, nice three-piece band playing. I would have preferred to be seated toward the center of the Grand Salon, instead we were at the far dock-side wall, virtually the hallway into the venue.
This is an impressive venue. Quality of food is great, the background music and live band were outstanding. The guy singing on Aug 18 in the morning was very cute and talented.
The Queen Mary Brunch is an event unto itself. From the moment you walk on the carpet to the moment you leave, the welcome and presentation of a stately historic ship and the incredible food was worth every cent of the entrance fee. Every thing I could imagine at a buffet plus about 50 more items you’d expect to see on a quality ocean cruise. The salmon poached with cucumbers as the scales was not only beautiful but so delicious. Sushi, fresh fruits, tiny desserts, amazing shellfish, carving table of beef and turkey, and a bottomless champagne glass to boot.
Toutist trap price food selection and quality not reflective of price.
Great food and service. Just very pricey for brunch.
The ship is a bit run down but the buffet makes up for it. Amazing food and good service. A bit pricey but seafood is so fresh that you cant argue too much.
We had friends from out of town and they wanted to go to Sunday brunch so we took them to the Queen Mary and they were very impressed. Their food is always excellent.
Excellent. Overwhelming it is so complete. Reservations are essential. Dress up a bit and enjoy the experience.
I think this should be on everyone's bucket list to go to at least once. It is amazing. We have gone to a lot of buffets because we like the choices but this beats them all. It was awesome to walk in and see where all of first class ate during the ship's heyday. It is a beautiful room and the stations are centered near the middle. There was a stage where a guitarist and bass guitarist who also sang, entertained us with songs from the 30's to the 50's. This certainly added to the ambiance. They were constantly pouring both glasses of champagne and mimosas. There was also a bar set up where you could get other drinks such as a bloody mary. Coffee and teas were also available. They realized it was our 15th anniversary so we got a really good table near the stage and the food stations. Also the maitre d' came over to personally congratulate us. There was all kinds of food available. Visited the breakfast one first where the applewood bacon was done to perfection. I teamed it up with an eggs benedict which melted in my mouth. The corned beef hash actually had cubes of corned beef brisket cut up in it. Next I went for seafood with the crab legs, peeled shrimp, shrimp cerviche, and smoked salmon with capers. I must admit the salmon was delicious and did not taste fishy at all. Next I made my way to the salads which were different and tasty. There were other stations that my husband went to such as the carvery which had turkey, tri-tip, and prime rib. Also available were omelettes, waffles, grilled cheese, chicken fingers etc. Everything tasted better than any other place we had been. We felt like we were in heaven. What a special place to spend a special day. Needless to say and didn't mean it to be last but the staff is just as good as the food. Attention was their motto.
It was great but the table service was a little slow
Our group looks forward to brunch, we go often, and this was supposed to be a special occasion. All in all it was almost an ok experience, but for the price we paid, we expected much more. Disappointed actually.
Parking was difficult, but that was to be expected as there is construction going on. There were no attendants to indicate where to go or where it was acceptable to park.
We had a reservation. Not only did we arrive a bit early, but we were made to wait a while for our table - located in a crowded area which made it difficult to get up and move around. There was no good view. The entire place needs to be refurbished. It's looking a bit shabby and feels like it should be cleaned with a bit more attention to detail.
Service was lacking. We were never offered water. We had to request it more than three times before we got a glass. Champagne was rarely offered. We had to request it constantly. We asked for an additional set of silverware since it was missing at the table, and didn't get that. We were not offered coffee at the end of the meal and didn't bother asking because we figured it wouldn't arrive and if it did, it would probably be weak and lukewarm.
The food, mediocre. Yes, there was plenty, but we wanted quality not quantity. For example, something as simple as tamales were dry and inedible. The server at the carving station greeted you with a frown, not a smile. The only salvation... desserts if you enjoy sweets.
Don't be fooled by the photos on the website. These must have been taken during special occasions The Queen Mary prepares for because the presentation of the food was nothing like that. Ice sculptures? Nope... not a one. I hate to write this, but it was more like a HomeTown Buffet (if you remember those) than a royal brunch setting.
We went, had our brunch, but will never return. There are many other locations for a wonderful brunch at around the same cost with better quality food, service and ambiance.
Even though we had a reservation, we still had to wait 20 minutes in a VERY crowded waiting area. The service staff was very friendly. Some of the food was cold. The beat item was the coffee and sushi.
Birthday brunch for 8. The variety was good. Eggs Benedict over An untoasted muffin was kind of sad. I enjoyed the sushi.
We had a great experience. Love the Queen Mary. The service was excellent. The food was very good.
Wonderful food and huge selection of different things. Really enjoyed it!
We went for our Anniversary. The wait staff was good. The food was mostly good but the shrimp and crab did not taste fresh. Not spoiled but just not fresh. The food selection was nice but we thought a bit pricey. We enjoyed the location and the live band was really good and added to the experience.
Great Sunday brunch
