About Quartino

Quartino, an urban Italian restaurant and wine bar, is the creation of Hugo Ralli, Steve Lombardo (owners of Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse, Hugo’s Frog Bar & Fish House, LUXBAR) and Exec Chef / Partner John Coletta. Quartino combines the best of Italy’s osteria and enoteca to offer an authentic everyday Italian food and wine experience. “Where wine is cheaper than water” Throughout Europe, in bistro after osteria after enoteca, fresh local wines of high quality and unique characteristics are priced as a less expensive alternative to bottled water. Reservation requests for patio seating are not accepted. Patio seating is first come, first serve.

What a great find during our weekend in Chicago! It was reminiscent of our trip to Italy last summer and the service was great too. Very charming and authentic Italian. Highly recommend.

Quartino is one of my absolute favorite restaurants! I have never ordered anything that I didn’t love. House made pastas, pizzas, salads, charcuterie...literally everything is delicious and worth a try! The service is also superb and they really know they’re stuff!

We had a great experience/meal tonight at Quartino. We had to wait for a little while even with the reservation and the lobby couldn’t hold another person, but that was made up for by the excellent food and service. Penne al vodka and the kale salad were favorites of our table. It’s definitely worth the wait but make a reservation or you could be waiting for upwards of 2 hours.

Wow! What a fabulous meal! Our group of four started with the white bean and garlic spread. Dinner as served tapas-style and dishes came out as they were ready. We ordered sun-dried tomato soup, the vegetarina flatbread, porcini and truffle risotto, gnocchi, and cavatelli - plenty for four people. For dessert, a cannoli and vanilla gelato with caramelized bananas topped off the meal. Our server was terrific and very helpful in instructing our choices. All the food was tasty and was paced nicely.

I have never had a bad experience at Quartino’s in all the times I’ve been there, this was no exception. Waiter brought out a complimentary dish to my one friend who had dietary restrictions. Great food, for a great price.

Service was incredible! Food was to die for so worth the price. Loved our waitress Madeline. Chocolate fondue was very yummy. Good authentic fresh Italian food. Would go back.

Had a GREAT dinner there on a Tuesday night. I honestly have never seen this place empty, which lends to the ambiance of the whole restaurant. Andie (spelling??), was an amazing server, she helped make sure we didn’t order too much for our group of 8. Thanks for making sure my birthday was spectacular!!

I have always loved Quartino’s, so it was an easy choice to host a business dinner. The service continues to be stellar. The bruschetta and meatballs were delicious. The pizza never disapponts! Pastas were perfectly al dente and tasty. My only disappointments were the farmhouse chicken and veal skirt steak. These two dishes are always my favorite, but they were overcooked and terribly dry this time. Lastly, tiramisu was decadent. Overall, good experience. Would recommend to others.

We made a reservation to come and celebrate our anniversary, but there was room at the bar and Rob was working, so we sat there. Rob is a fantastic bartender, host, server, and general personality! He knows the menu as if he wrote it and serves it like a pro. The food was excellent, his drinks were fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed celebrating our 9th anniversary.
My wife is disabled and cannot climb stairs, but they have a tucked away elevator and graciously showed her the way as the WCs are upstairs where the second bar and more sesting is. This is our minimum once a month go to place!

Thoroughly enjoyed the light dinner, then gorged on the desserts: ten or so eclairs and what seemed to be a half gallon of gelato...and very delicious.

Came here with a girlfriend to split a pizza and bottle of wine. I had never been before, but have seen for years that this place is always packed every day of the week. Our server was fantastic and full of energy. We ordered the Margarita pizza and I was in utter heaven. I cannot wait to come back with my boyfriend!! Very inexpensively priced, too!

Not a huge fan of the “family style” but we ordered separate dishes and ate our own as they came out. Best pasta I’ve ever had. The sangria was delicious. Only couple downfalls, we were crammed into a small space. Too many tables for not enough space. And to go along with that the noise level was so loud it was hard to hear our waiter. Other than that great experience. Our waiter (should have gotten his name 😑, he has a fade haircut) was awesome and very helpful!

First time at this restaurant. Despite the weather being frigid cold, the place was packed. The server was knowledgable. The food was delicious. Love the small plates concept so we could try several appetizers and dinner dishes.

Great food. I like to go to quartino every couple years. We had a reservation and still waited 15-20 minutes but the staff was very attentive and you could tell they were working hard to get everyone in. There just isn’t much room to wait in the winter. Quartino is always busy and and loud but we were seated at a small table that had a very narrow walkway and was on a corner. It was hard to hear our waiter and each other at times and we had to move our table back so we didn’t get bumped into and had to ask for something to level our tippy table out. I knew that it was not a quiet, romantic place going into it, so it didn’t really bother me. The food is fantastic.

I love Quartino - it's perfect for a date but also ideal for large groups. As an event planner, I can say with confidence it is the only River North location that will take a group of 12+ without a minimum or contract. Don't abuse that so they change it!! But you can easily set up an affordable group dinner and their staff is incredible. I booked three 20 person events there in 2017 and plan on continuing to keep it as my go-to! What makes it all that much better? The food & wine is incredible!

We dined at Quartino's on New Year's Eve and were very pleased with everything! Our server, Nicollette, was amazing and she was very helpful and attentive. Our party of three enjoyed the Shrimp Risotto, Braised Pork Shank, and the Spaghetti Pomodoro with Meatballs - all were so delicious! For wine, we ordered a full red, a 2015 Toscana which was reasonably priced and complimented our entree's. The Minestrone soup was full of goodness, and the house-made Burrata with roasted beets salad was out of this world! No room for dessert!

Set a special reservation for a group of 11 people with a set menu. No where near enough food was provided for the number of people. With the limited number of appetizers and small portions of pasta we were relying on the main course to satisfy the group. It was just boiled chicken that didn't appear completely cooked and nothing with it. I've been to the restaurant several times in small groups and had good experiences, but if you are looking to go as a big group I HIGHLY recommend not allowing them to push you into a set menu.

Wanted to take my 3 teenagers to dinner on New Years Eve. Decided to do a 4:00 pm reservation to avoid the busy NYE rush. Restaurant was very open when we arrived and we were seated in the corner next to the front window AND the side window. We rushed through our meal because we were so cold sitting next to both windows. Very disappointed, as this is normally a favorite spot of ours and that was NOT the way we wanted to start off our New Years Eve.

My boyfriend and I were visiting for the weekend and came in for dinner. We arrived 20 minutes early for our reservation and were seated promptly. We started off by getting the Truffle Salame and loved every bite. We then got the fettuccini Alfredo. It was THE BEST pasta either of us had ever tasted. We also got the sausage and it was great. We ended the night with dessert which was perfect. We left feeling full and happy. It is rare to find a restaurant that has such great food AND service. The whole experience was romantic, homey, and grand. The price wasn’t bad either for what we got. If we ever come back to CHI we will definitely come back to Quartino!
