What Insiders Are Saying
Cater to your basic needs with small plates Italian food in River North.
Lelebtsuing out 10.th aniversário !!!
I have several friends where this is “our go-to spot”... great food, ambiance, prices, location, etc... Favorite items include the octopus, polenta fries, caponata, and house red wine! Always fantastic, attentive service.
Overlooked rice and pasta were the highlight of the evening!
Overall really nice experience. We came here for my birthday last year, so I wanted to come back for my mom's birthday. We noted that in the reservations and it was acknowledged, however it was inconsistent with birthday dessert, did not receive one and was a little bummed.
The restaurant is beyond crowded. We had a table of 11 adults and they squeezed in a table that should have sat 8 people. This may work for a younger crowd, but we're too old for this now! And because the restaurant is so crowded, the noise volume was very high. In regards to Service, it was not great. The waitress would take one or two drink/food orders, then quickly walk away, not giving anyone else at the table time or attention to ask for anything. The food runners kept dropping plates at our table and I checked with all of our guests at our table, only to realize that no one had ordered that food. Meanwhile, some of the food that we did order never arrived and we had to ask about it. Overall, not a stellar visit for a highly rated downtown restaurant. I will likely not go back.
Quartino’s never fails to provide a great, energetic, upbeat atmosphere! The food is always awesome and the organized chaos is just fun to be a part of. Love it here!
Loved the food. Hated the noise level. Had to scream to be heard.
Usually go there when we r in town. Seems like they always squeeze us into a table meant for less people. While we were just a party of 2 this time, we were jammed in the upstairs back corner, at a table that wasn’t big enough for 2 plates of food and a wine bottle. The restaurant was hopping but there were numerous tables that were a little bigger open all over the restaurant. Our pasta course was very good, although took over 30 minutes.
Overall, I enjoyed the food and the service. The biggest two cons for me was the level of volume and how closely the table are sat. It was so loud I could barely hear my fiancé across the table and then on top of that, the tables were so close to one another. The table next to us continually hit out chair/table due to the close proximity.
Service was great. Fettuccine tasted like popcorn. Salad was good. Wasn’t impressed with spaghetti sauces. Average food!
I'm there quite a bit. It never disappoints. Food is always great and it comes out when its ready. We had Alycia tonight and she was incredible.
Good food, service and value. The desserts were great too!
Quartino’s is a dining experience the way a meal should be. The service is attentive without being smothering, the food is served properly and timely, without making one feel rushed; the food is phenomenol, from appetizer, to soup, salad, main, and dessert. Indeed an experience to be treasured...and repeated! A great way to spend our anniversary!
Enjoyed lunch consisting of funghi pizza with appetizers of mixed olives and eggplant caponata. Pizza is excellent and easily feeds 2. Absolutely love this place!
Our overall experience was great, from the ambiance to the service. Our only complaint was the pizza was slightly saucy from an over abundance of tomatoes and could’ve used some more cheese.
my go-to restaurant for when friends come to visit!
The white bean hummus was fantastic. Nice atmosphere. Prompt and attentive service. Would go back next time I'm in Chicago
Incredible place for your anniversary! The surprised us with sparkling wine to kick off the night for our anniversary. Loved our time and appreciated the amazing service!
We arrived for our reservation a few minutes early to find dozens of people waiting outside, which seemed a little odd. We then tried to make our way inside but you couldn’t even move as people were packed in. I was getting hit by the revolving door as I tried to get out of the way, but there was no room. My wife, two kids, and I finally navigated our way to the host stand, only to find out that they were running 15-20 minutes behind on reservations. We made our way outside and waited for the text. It actually ended up being 25 minutes after which we had to navigate through the front of the restaurant and swarm of people again to make it to the host stand. The food and service was good, but it seemed slow for everything to come out. I’m guessing they were still behind from what happened earlier. Not exactly the experience I was hoping for during my 40th birthday dinner with my family...
The food is wonderful, but it’s a massive restaurant so gets really loud. They have liters of wine for good prices, which is such a treat.
Food was good! Can’t hear a thing though.
My only complaint is that they told open table I was a no show. Excellent food and service
We had six guests (two vegetarian). Quartino had good selection so everybody had plenty to eat.
Noise level was extremely loud, but food was well worth it and great prices!
Great spot for some good Italian. Food gets brought out VERY quickly and can be slightly overwhelming
The Tuscan Kale salad was excellent as were the dates wrapped in pancetta! The gnocchi was bland but was taken off the bill, thank you! The banana dessert was a lot of ice cream with 3 small pieces of banana and a little chocolate drizzle. Ice cream was tasty but the dessert was disappointing. We were celebrating our daughter's birthday early because we won't see her on her birthday and put it on my reservation but no mention of birthday. We were there recently and had a fantastic meal by comparison.
Quartino is consistenly wonderful. I've have been several times over the last decade, and their food is always delicious and fresh. The service is attentive and quick no matter how busy. The main dining room can get quite loud, but there are other options available if you request them.
We were seated 30mins after our reservation time. The tables are so close together, if you are cutting with your knife, you are also elbowing the person behind you. Disappointing establishment.
Excellent food. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. We will certainly go again.
The food was amazing and the meatballs are a must!
Family Dinner success. Tried some new shareable items and had wonderful service. Will definitely be back soon!
Eggplant parm was divine and pugliese pizza was better than I ever could have anticipated. I was seeing a college roommate for the first time in 20 years and they let us linger and chat without nudging us.
We were able to get in, last minute, for some New Year's Eve dinner. We enjoyed the crowd, the noise and the food and drink. Given the level of the crowd, the service was good and the food was delivered hot. All in all, an enjoyable evening.
Quartinos is perfect for every occasion. Date night, large group, birthdays, etc. the prices are amazing and the food and service are incredible. It’s almost too good to be true.
The Quartino team delivered again! From the service, to the food, to the atmosphere. We had a fantastic New Years eve experience!
This is one of our favorite spots in the city, so of course, we brought 16 of our closest friends on New Years Eve when they came to Chicago for the first time! The manager was great and accommodating and made sure to have us out of there right on time for our party! And as always, food was delicious!
Consistently delivers great food and excellent service.
Always great food and service
Seated fast. Served timely. Food tasted awesome. Staff was exceptional.
