Quality Meats is a contemporary restaurant that serves a rustic New American menu.
The varied menu focuses on modern interpretations of classic dishes such as Traditional Steak Tartare, Caesar Salad and Roasted Bone Marrow, in addition to several cuts of beef from legendary New York butchers Milton Abeles and Strassburger Meats.
The restaurant's side dishes alone merit a trip with innovative house specialties, including Corn Crème Brulee, Gnocchi and Cheese and Edamame with Mint Salt. The Quality Meats chefs are Craig Koketsu (Lespinasse, Stars) as executive chef and Cory Colton (Lespinasse, St.Regis) on pastry. The restaurant has a warm industrial atmosphere, created by award-winning AvroKO and features intimate dining areas, a comfortable bar area with well-stocked charcuterie bar.

Went here for our 5 year anniversary and loved everything ! We got the porterhouse for 2 , steak tartare , corn creme brulee , their special potato & bacon with peanut butter and jalapeño! They make their special sauce in front of you and it is divine !! Will definitely be back !! And their homemade ice cream is too die for as well !!

Great vibrant spot with great wine list and food. Service could be better though. Waiters seem to be busy but you hardly see anyone approaching tables to see what is going on.

We went here for my wife’s birthday after hearing all the good reviews. We like steak and we’re anxious to try another good steak house. The NY steak house prices did not bother us. We knew what we were getting into. Unfortunately, the preparation of the steak did not live up to our expectation. We ordered two butcher cut porterhouse’s for two and the steak looked great. The sirloin portion of the cut was flavorful, but very hard and chewy. The temperature of one order was almost cooked well, though we ordered both medium. The filet half was much better. We normally would have sent them back, but it was after 9pm when they were served and we were hungry and did not want to wait until 10pm to eat dinner. It is a nice place, but we do not intend on returning.

From the bread to the dessert every item that was ordered was flavorful and cooked with such care. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. My favorite part of the meal was the steak sauce made table side. The dessert i ordered was out and the waiter brought me their best selling dessert. Something I never would of ordered on my own but was flavorful and tasty!

The beginning of the end started at this restaurant. Bartender was more interested in the ladies at the bar then serving paying customers drinks. Took 45 minutes for the salad to come and then it was incorrect. They said will you made it customized salad so it came out wrong. Ordered a medium rare steak and it came out medium well. Manager came out grab the steak came back drop the new one and walked away never said a word about the quality. This is probably the worst restaurant I've ever eaten at because when I brought it to their attention they really didn't care. They don't care because tourists come and eat over and over again and they really don't need our business

I love steak and this wasn't the best *quality.* We had two different cuts and I was not impressed with either. Wouldn't recommend for a special occasion, but could satisfy your need for red meat. The bread was very good.

Favorite spot to eat in NYC !! Everything was delicious from the crab appetizer to the steak to the dessert👍🏼🎉!! We have recommended it so several people and they absolutely loved it too!

The meal was very good, fantastic service , once seated, a delay in seating as the restaurant has a policy of the whole group must be present prior to seating, which seems unnecessary & inconvenient to the customer, as all had to wait in a busy waiting area & uncomfortable for one guest running a few minutes delayed/ seemed like the restaurant was punishing the customer...?

I don’t understand why this place is getting so much praise. I took two of my friends to QM, they were visiting NYC for the first time. They really wanted to get an experience of a famous NY steak. Instead of that had to wait for our meal for more than one hour. My steak was over cooked (medium instead of medium rare). And the sides were just so so.

The filet trio was very nice. The bacon appetizer was the worst cooked bacon I have ever eaten and the cut was mostly fat for $21.

One of the best steakhouses in NYC. Exceptional food, wine list, and service. Restaurant has over-booked or dropped reservations, but it’s worth it once you get in.

My wife & I were looking forward to this experience but ended being severely disappointed. The trend of high end expensive restaurants with uncomfortable wood or metal chairs has got to stop! We don't expect to pay $250.00 for dinner & drinks and sit in a fast food type comfort. Did you ever hear of putting a cushion on a chair? Its not a novel concept!

As to the food which all gets impacted by the comfort aspect. If we remove how uncomfortable it is to dine here, here is the review:

Bone in Sirloin steak for $53.00 was good & worth it. Shrimp cocktail was on the expensive side @ $23 for 4 huge shrimp with dipping sauces-Really good & worth it! Caesar salad for $16 was good but way too small. Its romaine lettuce, croutons and dressing. Not a good value!

Service was spotty but servers were very nice & professional when they did focus on us. I can imagine its probably excellent most of the time.

Having moved back to the city after a long hiatus, we have noticed the trend in NYC that many restaurants are onto with regard to comfort. We don't subscribe to it and will be very discriminate about how our money is spent.

If you need a template for how a high end steak house should be comfort wise and are ever out in Melville, Long Island: try Scotto Brothers "Blackstones". Every restauranteur who doesn't believe a high end meal doesn't have to be comfortable in the city should have to take a continuing education course by having to eat dinner here once a year!

Came here for Valentine's Day and it was super packed! However, the staff here greeted us very warmly and took care of us until we sat at our table. The person who handed us our menus was so incredibly kind and made us the BEST steak sauce I ever had later on. Our waitress was very friendly and fast (I never had an empty glass of wine). The kitchen got our order mixed up which was disappointing but we got fresh new sides along with a new side our waitress recommended for free. Overall, the steak was ok which is what we were there for, the sides were amazing along with the appetizers and drinks. I'd definitely recommend going and I will definitely be back for a normal date night versus on a special occasion like Valentine's Day.
