About Quality Meats

Quality Meats is a contemporary restaurant that serves a rustic New American menu.
The varied menu focuses on modern interpretations of classic dishes such as Traditional Steak Tartare, Caesar Salad and Roasted Bone Marrow, in addition to several cuts of beef from legendary New York butchers Milton Abeles and Strassburger Meats.
The restaurant's side dishes alone merit a trip with innovative house specialties, including Corn Crème Brulee, Gnocchi and Cheese and Edamame with Mint Salt. The Quality Meats chefs are Craig Koketsu (Lespinasse, Stars) as executive chef and Cory Colton (Lespinasse, St.Regis) on pastry. The restaurant has a warm industrial atmosphere, created by award-winning AvroKO and features intimate dining areas, a comfortable bar area with well-stocked charcuterie bar.

Steak was over cooked. I got a medium well instead of medium rare. Server didn’t check up on me until everyone finished their meal. At least he took it off the bill but I would have liked to eat. Didn’t have time once everyone was done.

Overall our experience at Quality Meats was amazing. Our server Ricky, was informative and enthusiastic about the menu. For an appetizer we ordered the bone marrow, which we have never tried before and it was like sexy butter deliciousness. For our main course we split the port steak and it was cooked to perfection. The char was amazing and the marination station they bring out with the meat was epic and unique. For our sides we ordered the parmesan waffle fries which were divine, and they also gave us a complimentary creme brûlée Mac and cheese that was also fantastic. It was our anniversary, and they offered us a gorgeously plated caramel chocolate cake with fig ice cream. I’m lactose intolerant, and deserts usually don’t happen for me, but this cake was a dream in my mouth. The entire meal from start to finish was perfect! I highly recommend this restaurant for an unforgettable date night meal!

I always eat your baby ribs, food melts even before it reaches my palate. i was there 2 days in a row and ate same dish with appetizer and dessert and brought friends and everyone was in awe of the ribs with the long bone! Hurrah. My husband, Andrea Kracht, who's one of your VIP loves this place. me too!

The sirloin was one of the finest I’ve had anywhere in the US. The servers changed mid-meal due to a shift change, making the service less than optimal.

Great steak and great dinner. The service could have been better. I feel as if our waiter provided tables around us with better service. He read them specials.

It was an amazing dinner. But I want to see what I was eating. The room light was too dark. I knew some people likes dark lightning. If I could see the colors of food how much I enjoyed dinner this time.

Arrogant service. Server seemed bothered that we had joined him. Failed to give any explanation about the food. I had been before, so that wasn't killer. I won't be going back, though. Simply too much money for an entitled, cold, and rude waitstaff.

2nd time here, and did not disappoint. Food & service were absolutely top shelf. If you're going to be in NYC, and you want a great meal, especially a great steak; look no further.

Outstanding comes to mind. My husband and I had a wonderful experience and cannot wait to go back. The atmosphere is warm, the staff attentive without being overbearing and the food was excellent. Try the corn creme brûlée for a real treat.

We booked this restaurant to celebrate a birthday and the birthday girl wanted a steak dinner. It was my first visit to this restaurant although I passed it by many times wanting to try it one day. I am not a huge meat eater but I love a good piece of steak now and then.
The reception staff seemed unfriendly and kind of snooty upon arrival. They forced us to hang out by the door when the rest of the party was literally two minutes away in the uber. Did not even offer to check our coats and we had to ask! Very unprofessional and under trained staff to my surprise.
Now to the dining experience...The place was too noisy that even though we were seated at a booth, a semi round table, we had to scream across the table to be heard. It took a long time to get the bread basket on the table even after ordering the wine and drinks which took a long time. The waiter was friendly but not attentive and timely. The whole service staff appeared disjointed. And the wine list is super limited unless you want to drop over 500 bucks and more for a bottle. The salad was very average. Fennel salad was below average. Other apps not very memorable. The steaks were good, not great. The sides were also mehhhh...none of us finished any of the salads and appetizers and the sides. The steaks were too big but not exceptional as mentioned. I’d rather get a smaller portion but better tasting piece of meat.
The bill was not exorbitant to my surprise but we only ordered one bottle of red wine and a couple of cocktails.
However, I didn’t see any good value in this place. Not the service, ambiance or the food. Very average. I will not return.

As always the steaks are absolutely perfect. Sides are absolutely delicious. Service was good but not perfect this time. Waiter had behind us a wine bottle from another table across the room, so he was constantly bothering my wife to pick up the other table's bottle. But aside from that a wonderful dinner.

Only good thing about the night was the steak. Me: In New York for 30th birthday. Gf: reserves table in nice steak restaurant. Turn up, table had been given away. Waited for another table. Led to table in noisy section upstairs where people kept brushing past to get to what I thought was the toilet, but must've been a private room. Other patrons clearly drunk and having some sort of overly aggressive business power dinner. Waiter introduces himself by asking if we wanted to start the meal with tequilas. Wrong vibe pal, read your audience. He tries to upsell us on our wine order, which we refuse. Convinces us to go for the crème brulé corn (don't get it, unless you like corn that tastes as sweet as candy). Urinals were overflowing, and restaurant noisy. Fillet mignon special was excellent. Aged bone in sirloin 7/10. Pan fried potatoes: good. Coat check woman: rude.

The service was terrible. From the hostess that is too busy socializing at the front rather than seating us, to the waiter that took longer than average to bring us a wine list and take our order. For the price you’re paying for the food here the service is at best mediocre.

Quality meats indeed!! Classic NYC steakhouse fare, done exceptionally well (though med rare is best for the beef). A terrific dining experience in mid-town. You'll pay for it, but you won't mind.

i took my parents here for dinner. right from the front door the service was great. everyone was very friendly and seemed happy to be there which is such a great thing. our server matt, was so informative and helpful. we must have asked him 20 questions before we ordered. he was so friendly and let us take our time. we didn't feel rushed at all. the place filled up later on (our reservation was at 5 after a show) the vibe is lively and the place was buzzing. dessert came out and it was absolutely delicious. i'm a huge dessert person and i feel that sometimes desserts are an afterthought at restaurants. not here! needless to say, my parents were very impressed with this restaurant. great job quality meats. you are nothing but quality!

My wife and I had a reservation for 11:30am and we came a little earlier. We came to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We had the place to ourselves until noon which was nice as it wasn’t loud at all. We both ordered ribeye steak and two side orders + avocado crab appetizer which were great. Service was great as the servers were very friendly and even overheard that we are celebrating my wife’s birthday and surprised us with a desert. That was really nice of them! Overall we had a great time there and would come back again. Hopefully next time warmer weather.

I nearly 40 minutes for my appetizer to arrive, and when I didn’t I just left.

I would never return.

When I walked in 5 people were huddled around the reservation counter, I had to clear my throat before anyone would even greet me.

Then the person showing me to my seat just kinda dropped me off at the table.

I felt like I was in a diner in New Jersey.

The only good thing about this terrible experience was the lovely waitress who sympathized with me.

Such a disappointment. And as you can see from my history with open table I’m not easily disappointed.

This is a type of place you expect to get top notch service, but we experienced anything but. The food was good, but the service alone would deter me from going back. The server and runner/second server had a disagreement and were yelling at each other in the service area/hallway. It was uncomfortable for us and very unprofessional of them to do this near our table. This definitely had a effect on the service they provided. They were unpleasant, rushed and overall more concerned with their disagreement than providing good service. The front of house manager happened to walk by our table so I felt I should say something. He offered to move us, but we didn’t really want to. We asked if he could just address it with them later. He must have said something immediately bc the server apologized to us and all of a sudden started catering to our every need and being overly friendly. They removed a few items from our bill to compensate for the trouble, which is part of good service so I appreciate that. What I didn’t appreciate was that the only reason we received decent service toward the end was bc the server had been told to.
