About Quality Meats
Quality Meats is a contemporary restaurant that serves a rustic New American menu.
The varied menu focuses on modern interpretations of classic dishes such as Traditional Steak Tartare, Caesar Salad and Roasted Bone Marrow, in addition to several cuts of beef from legendary New York butchers Milton Abeles and Strassburger Meats.
The restaurant's side dishes alone merit a trip with innovative house specialties, including Corn Crème Brulee, Gnocchi and Cheese and Edamame with Mint Salt. The Quality Meats chefs are Craig Koketsu (Lespinasse, Stars) as executive chef and Cory Colton (Lespinasse, St.Regis) on pastry. The restaurant has a warm industrial atmosphere, created by award-winning AvroKO and features intimate dining areas, a comfortable bar area with well-stocked charcuterie bar.

Quality Meats Ratings and Reviews
Everything was delicious, we left no morsel behind! Our waiter was friendly, and oh so sweet. We ate early, because we were headed to a show, so the restaurant was on the quieter side, but as we were leaving it started to pick up. My martini was giant and divine. Overall, a fabulous time!
As usual, they NEVER disappoint! From start to finish, appetizers to dessert, food and service are fantastic! Our server, Andy, was fun, friendly and very accommodating. Sommelier was friendly, approachable and helped us pick a great wine. Steaks melt in your mouth and tableside fresh made steak sauce is great! We never miss a chance to visit this gem when in New York.
This is a terrific, interesting space. The noise level is high, but the tables are spaced comfortably to allow for conversation. The food is fine, but very expensive - similar to the other highly-priced steak restaurants in midtown. Unfortunately, our service was surprisingly poor for such an expensive restaurant. The waitress just seemed indifferent, even when there were real problems with what we ordered. At these prices, I think service must be consistently outstanding, which it definitely wasn't on our visit.
Waiter was definitely not attentive, I specifically requested for a nice table as I had a VIP from Out of Town and yet they put us in the BACK ROOM ..and specifically requested for a good service, and yet we didn’t get the great service! I was sooo disappointed with our dinner!!!
I think my expectations may have been too high after my friend told me “it was the best steak I ever had”. My husband and I split the Porterhouse for 2. It had good flavor, but it was very tough. The sides were excellent, especially the carrot special. The ice cream creations for dessert weren’t bad either 😊.
This is my second time to host a business dinner at Quality Meats, and once again, we were very pleased with the meal, the service, and the atmosphere. The food overall was great, with the exception of one of the steaks being slightly over cooked, and my veal chop being overcooked slightly, there were no complaints about the food at all. The bone marrow, the salads, and the sides were outstanding.
From the moment we arrived we were rushed through our meal. It was apparent their goal was to turn over the table as soon as possible. For a place that is supposed to be about "quality meat" this was the worst rib eye I can remember having out. Our cut arrived to the table so cold I felt like I was eating left over steak out of my refrigerator . As someone who dines out several nights a week in NYC this was the worst dining experience of the year for me.
After an hour and a half wait for the main course, an overdone cold steak which was tough and tasteless arrived. After complaining to the waiter, he said he would talk to the manager. After trying to enjoy this special evening, the manager appeared and offered a bottle of wine on the house at a time when we were ready to leave. After the hype of Quality Meat, I will never return after all.
This was a GREAT experience all around. The food was AWESOME. As a vegetarian, it was odd that I picked the place, but the Crab meat appetizers intrigued me, as well as the sides. And, they DID NOT disappoint. We got the crabcake and the other crab appetizer in a spicy tomato puree and both were GREAT! The goddess salad was incredibly fresh, and amazing dressing.
Our waiter so wonderful and answered all of our questions without rushing us. We also enjoyed the rustic decor. I would definitely go back!!
Been to every steak house in the city, including quality meats in the past and I have to say the over all experience was lack luster. The food itself was subpar, the waiter was less than attentive(that's being generous).
Wait time for the food was abnormally extensive and when asked our waiter pointed to a server and said that's yours right there and ran away as that server began to place plates at the table across the room. In short long wait for bad service and food that's well below anything else available.
THE FOOD IS SUPERBLY PREPARED AND PRESENTED. IT IS THE BEST STEAK THAT I HAVE HAD IN A LONG TIME. BUT THATS IT. THE ROOM IS EXCESSIVELY NOISY; THE RESERVATION WAS 40 MINUTES LATE; THE SERVER WAS CONFUSED; AND THE LAYOUT IS NOT FOR ANYONE WHO HAS THJE SLIGHTEST DISABILITY.
I'm here for celebrating New York City Marathon by myself and have great dinner. The staff suggest glass wine is well suited to my rib steak. But for solo female customer, like me, I won't suggest to order addition side dish. It will be too much to eat it. Finally, I packed my side dish to go. If possible, I hope the staff could suggest to have moderate dinner, not extra dishes.
I love this restaurant. It is my go-to-first when in the City. I know exactly what I want to eat and drink. It is always perfect. But tonight was different. The meal was great. QM’s veal chop is the best chop anywhere! Due to a wine distributor strike a large number of the wines were not available. Unfortunate for QM and very disappointing to those of us expecting quality wine options. The usual stellar service was off, but even that happens. The issue tonight was not food, wine or table service, but the total disregard for all guests trying to enjoy a meal and conversation - not to mention - no let me mention it - spending $$$ - while listening to an infant scream and shrill while the parents act as if nothing is happening. This is not a child friendly restaurant (unless parents and children have good dining out manners). Parents should be held accountable for their children’s behavior at any age and be respectful of adults around them trying to enjoy our night out. QM should manage all disruptions equally. If parents don’t have the common sense to take the child out, the Manager or staff should ask them to leave the main dining area. Most tables on the main level were visibly annoyed and irritated by the constant interruptions coming from this table. For those of us closer it was just time to leave. The waitstaff worked around it. The hostess at the front desk gave a weak ‘I’m sorry’ when it was brought to her attention. It was a disappointing ending to what is typically an outstanding dining experience.
