The varied menu focuses on modern interpretations of classic dishes such as Traditional Steak Tartare, Caesar Salad and Roasted Bone Marrow, in addition to several cuts of beef from legendary New York butchers Milton Abeles and Strassburger Meats.
The restaurant's side dishes alone merit a trip with innovative house specialties, including Corn Crème Brulee, Gnocchi and Cheese and Edamame with Mint Salt. The Quality Meats chefs are Craig Koketsu (Lespinasse, Stars) as executive chef and Cory Colton (Lespinasse, St.Regis) on pastry. The restaurant has a warm industrial atmosphere, created by award-winning AvroKO and features intimate dining areas, a comfortable bar area with well-stocked charcuterie bar.

Food is always great. Service too. If it’s a business dinner you ha e to make sure you get a quiet section which can be difficult. Upstairs is good.
This used to be our go-to steakhouse, but no longer after this experience. Not a great choice for after-theater/performance dinner as the service is sorely lacking at that late hour. From the greeter at the door who tried to turn us away with a rude “Kitchen is closed” announcement - yet we called to advise we were running late due to the ballet’s later end; to the not-so-great service we received (we had to ask for everything - water, steak sauce, etc.); to the waiter wrapping only portions of my meal (why would he choose which items I wish to take home? Was I not paying for everything I ordered?!). The overall experience left a disappointing feeling in the pit of my stomach after a marvelous performance at Lincoln Center. Needless to say, I no longer will recommend QM to anyone for fear of sullying my reputation if someone should have the same dismal encounter as we did.
Overall this is a really nice steakhouse, mostly because it’s a little different than most, the setting, the crowd, the music, makes it all very comfortable yet trendy… And I must say the staff from the bartenders to the hostesses to the waiters were all exceptionally nice and accommodating…
The drinks were delicious, the wine list is very nice, and the bread that comes to the table is delicious!
as an appetizer we got the shrimp cocktail, beautiful shrimp, with three remarkably good yet different dipping sauces, I recommend this highly… We split the green goddess salad… Which I have to say was the only thing I did not like, it’s basically a conglomeration of common ingredients, and very bland, this I would not order again..
Porterhouse for two was one of the best I’ve had in a long time… Super juicy, slightly salty, slightly charred and full of flavor…, Very worth it! … We opted for just one simple dessert because we were full, so we got the cookie monster, which really was delicious, simple, and did the trick to satisfy our chocolate craving… And like I said earlier, the waiters were on point, friendly, and attentive.
HAD THE PORTER HOUSE FOR TWO. THERE WAS A TENDON THAT RAN THROUGH OUR CUT. PARTS VERY FATTY. ALSO ORDERED POTATOES THAT HAD LEMON SLICES TERRIBLE. WIFE HAD RIBS GOOD. DESSERTS WERE OK.. THEY CANCELLED MY RESERVATION THEN SAT ME 20 MINUTES LATER.
It was my husbands birthday

Always great food!
Our trip to Quality Meats did not disappoint—the food was delicious. Our server was professional and efficient although a bit aloof. The restaurant was very loud but we would return because we enjoyed our food so much.
That’s fantastic! We are grateful for your kind words and we can’t wait to share this with the rest of our team. Looking forward to your next visit!
Good overall but the main server could have been warmer. Also, I appreciated being tucked away into a cozy nook part of the restaurant but we were seated one table over from a screaming child. She eventually calmed down but it wasn’t the romantic evening I had anticipated
The steaks were great, but OMG the sides are ridiculous! The Creme Bru Corn is all you need.
Wow, thank you so much, Richard! Nice to receive feedback on what you loved to eat! Looking forward to seeing you back soon!
Great experience as always
Thank you so much! We loved hearing what a great time you had with us. Hope to see you soon!
Booked through opentable - worked well. Had quite a bit of waiting until table was ready but time went by fast having a drink a the bar.
While the food is very good prices are on the high side, even by New York City standards. Table was not ready/available at the time of our reservation. Service was fair to poor. This was my fourth time dining at Quality Meats, first in several years...will not return.
Simply amazing dinner . Fabulous food and wine .
Great service !
The food was great though I've come to expect more attentive and engaging service when paying steakhouse prices.
First steak was not prepared as ordered. A second steak was requested. Half an hour later we had to ask where the replacement steak was and waiter had to go back and request again. The replacement steak, because they forgot to do it, was brought to our table completely charred on the outside and raw on the inside. I requested it BE cooked medium. Alas we just asked for the check and neither of us actually ate anything but the salad. The part that kills us most is the experience still cost $151.00. We were robbed and just wanted to get out and go someplace else to eat. We were starving.
Everything was delish! Our waiter advised us incorrectly on the amount of food to order. We had enough for
Came in this past Saturday for an 8pm reservation for 4 and we were sat almost immediately which was great. We had a few different apps; both the Crab Avo & Burrata - which were good, but the crab cake was average at best. The waiter recommended both the Tomahawk & Porterhouse - which is usually my go-to at any steakhouse. Both steaks really underwhelmed. While certainly nice-portions, both steaks were fatty and not so tender. Sides & cocktails were fine, but we really came for the steak and it simply did not deliver. With so many different options - esp at this price point, we were a but disappointed. Great set-up with awesome service, but we came for the steak.
We appreciate your feedback, Chris! We apologize that this occurred during your visit; this is definitely not how our food is supposed to taste. Rest assured that I have passed on your comments to our culinary team. The service, food, wine, and the atmosphere is incredible. Looking forward to returning soon.
That’s awesome John! We are grateful for your kind words and we can’t wait to share this with the rest of our team. Looking forward to your next visit!
It was just ok. I have to leave more than 50 words to say “it’s just ok”. I had high expectations after hearing how amazing this place is and I left thinking I just blew $300 on dinner for two with no drinks and it was again “just ok”.
Jonny, thank you for your feedback. You’re right, that doesn’t sound very appealing to me either. If you would be willing to email me at joliver@qualitybranded, I would be happy to connect further and learn more about your experience. Thank you and hope to be in touch soon! Joel K. Food was good, quality was very good. Nice atmosphere, but do NOT like the tables being 12 inches apart. It’s tight and you can hear everyone’s conversations and they can hear yours
Valentine’s Day. Food and service was great. Ordered the lobster and lump crab cocktail and for entree we ordered the porterhouse for two with potatoes. Eveything was excellent. The desert menu wasn’t impressive. They need to put s chochlate cake and simple deserts. The bathroom sink and faucet is horrible they need to re do those bathrooms ! Water was very hot or very cold handles are ancient.
We really appreciate your detailed feedback. Looking forward to seeing you back soon!
I went on Valentine’s Day so it was pretty crowded. They got me to my table a little later than my reservation, not too much later (10-15 min). Everything about this place was on the money. The crowd was an upscale mixed scene, the restaurant is hip & modern, and the food was excellent. I had the double boned 64 oz rib steak, amazing!!!!! You get what pay for, this place is def a place I want to return to... soon.
Wow, thank you so much! We really appreciate your detailed feedback. Looking forward to seeing you back soon!
Outstanding as always. Service is always great. Would recommend.
Wow, thank you so much, Jeff. We really appreciate your detailed feedback. Looking forward to seeing you back soon!
Great food and awesome ambience!
Sorry but this is not the Quality Meats of a year ago. Unsure what to attribute the colossal slip in food and service - but I have dined here regularly for 8 years and will not return. The experience was nothing short of terrible...from the snarky hostess, to the abrupt, overwhelmed server, to the average meal. It’s a shame, it was excellent for many years.

No surprise that this place is my favorite steakhouse in New York City.
the absolute best dinner i’ve ever had in new york city
Quality Meats has been and will always be our "Go To" Restaurant in NYC. We have never had a bad meal. However, the noise level from where we sat (at the top of the stairs) made it impossible to have a conversation with anyone. The noise traveled up the staircase and right into our ears making any conversation challenging. With this being said, Quality Meats remains one of my faves but next time, I'll ask for another table if offered seating there again or to be moved if we experience the same level of noise.
We're glad you had enjoyed your meal with us! It does get pretty energetic at times, but feel free to request a quieter area & we will try our best to accommodate! Joel K. Oliver Guest Relations Manager Quality Meats NYC
Very very good
Good service and didn't' have to wait for table, nice to see when a reservation means something to a restaurant. Great apps!! Get the bacon and burrata.
Now the not so good part. Very noisy and tables are really close to each other upstairs. Steak was not cooked to desired request which is a big no no for any steak house, but the quality of the meat was good. I would return, but not rushing back based on some misses.
Was told table wasn’t ready at our scheduled arrival time at 6.30 (which let’s face it is very early) so got sent to the bar for two very expensive cocktails. Didn’t have any nuts or other bar snacks. After a while I asked again about our table which they took us to and it became clear the place wasn’t that busy and the bar trip was simply to sell us those cocktails. Service beyond that point was fair and the food was average to below average. I’m someone who is happy to pay a lot of money for a good meal, but it does have to be a good experience. This was not.
Our server Peter was not engaged at all but his 2nd, Luis was pretty good. The food was just good but I was expecting really good or great. When i go out for steak i expect something that is generally much better than I would eat at home or what is the point? Here it wasn't as good as home but there was nothing wrong, just not special in any way. Just overall disappointment. If we had had terrific service that would have made the entire night much better experience.
We had ribs, bacon and hanger steak as entree courses.
Ribs were well prepared.
The bacon dish had an extremely intense jalapeño sauce with apples that was not edible, too strong.
The bacon was 50% charred on the outside which is not right for grilled bacon.
My hanger steak was ordered medium rare ; it came rare to slightly medium rare toward the ends.
Which were also tough because it was dried out meat aged too long and dried out . In addition there was a tough strand of meat sinew or something non-chewable in the meat.
So I managed to eat about half of it.
The cherry sauce was excellent (saved the meal...)
In a steakhouse one would expect an excellent and correct preparation and a reasonably tender hanger steak. I can buy that cut of steak at Adams in Kingston and it is more tender than what I was served at Quality Meats.
All other preparations were excellent. The contrast was a noticeable difference.
Inasmuch as I am cognizant of how difficult it is to run a kitchen, it is noted we were very early guest at 5:45 so the kitchen was neither in a rush or overwhelmed.

Ambiance , service was fantastic - didn’t wait very long for food, server was exceptional not too much on top of us but checked in at appropriate times, food and drink were outstanding!! I will go as often as I can !! Straight shot from broadway shows and much better in every aspect !!
Wow, thank you so much, Patricia! We really appreciate your detailed feedback. Looking forward to seeing you back soon!
