What Insiders Are Saying
Quality Italian is a neo-classic Italian restaurant in Midtown melded with a steakhouse. We like it for the variety on the menu and the massive space.
I made reservations for my husband bday at 7:15 pm.
Table wasn’t ready on time and my family was seated 45 min later!
In any situation I would appreciate phone call or email that restaurant is running very much behind!
It’s was extremely noisy and lamb chops was row!
For your price point I expected much better service!
Food is great, the 'for two' portions could probably feed 3, and the drinks were stiff. Really enjoyed dinner
Great place......but the wine list is incredibly over priced.
Cheapest bottle was $109.
Need to add other options people can afford.
Best French toast I’ve ever had, and enjoyed pasta as well.
Had to wait about 30 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. Crowded- which we viewed as a good sign. Louder and more hip vibe. Fine for us (4 friends on a night out). Drinks were all great (whiskey sour was not too sweet, had a good but small beer list, good selection of wines by the glass). Food was amazing. Did the chicken Parmesan for 2 as an appetizer to split between all of us, as recommended by George our server. Excellent choice and unique preparation (it looks like a cheese pizza... but it’s a giant chicken parm patty... soooo good). Had pastas as main- all tasty. The angiolloti was the smallest, tasty but the person who ordered it was glad we had gotten starters. Dessert menu is small and gelato focused. Great light end to the meal (we had the s’mores thing which was good and two flavors of gelato, strawberry and Ferraro rocher, both good). All in all a fantastic night out and just what we hoped it would be. Pricey but no more so than other similar restaurants in the area. George was a great server. Dinner took about 3 hours, again fine for us.
I am a big fan of Quality Meats and decided to try this venue based off of my delightful previous experiences with this brand. I enjoyed it immensely with my only disappointment being that I expected a lot more Italian options. I also was sad that the special of veal parmigiana for two wasn’t explained properly. Had it been, we would have gotten that dish. As it stands, the experience was good while the service was rushed at times.
The food here is excellent! Definitely get the chicken parmigiana pizza it’s delicious. The service was excellent as well. You won’t be disappointed.
The service we received was extremely slow and when we did see our waiter he was rude and unaccommodating.
The ambiance of Quality Italian is great and there was plenty of room in the bar area for a drink while we waited. The dinner rolls and corn creme brulee (also found at Quality Meats) are my favorite. Chopped italian salad was delicious as well as the steak. The only thing that was underwhelming were the baked clams. We had a table right next to this bar cart (for steak sauce?) so there was too much coming and going but otherwise was a great night out.
Service was great. Love having select dishes prepared table side. Food was delicious.
The appetizers are really great. The salads are only fair and the pasta dishes are mediocre. Our server was wonderful. Some of the other dishes are interesting. The side dishes are pretty much pedestrian from Manhattan. Overall the ambience is OK the food is good but not outstanding and it is extremely pricey for what you get. It is a fun place to go but not at the cost that it is. It pales in comparison to it’s sister Restaurant quality meats.
Great service. Erin, Peter, Victor, and one more guy... where amazing! I don't know how we received multiple servers but they were all great. We ordered the grilled octopus (cooked perfectly), the ricotta, the avocado, and lobster ravioli dishes. AMAZING. We will definitely be back!
Nice birthday dinner for pre-theatre show.
Everything was ok. Not bad, not great. For the price I’d expect more
We really enjoyed our meal here. The service was excellent and the staff as a whole was very friendly and helpful without hovering. My only disappointment was my ribeye, while cooked to perfection the piece had a fair amount of gristle and I don’t mean fat because a ribeye is a fattier cut, but this was that cartilage that is typically found in lesser quality cuts so that was a surprise as we’ve eaten here as well as Quality Meats and their ribeyes are typically to die for. That said the steak was huge so even with cutting the gristle away there was still plenty left over to take home in a doggy bag and I was full. I’m not one to send food back unless it’s spoiled but I’m certain if I brought it to the waiters attention he would’ve brought me a new piece. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves steak and seafood with an Italian twist.
La comida estuvo deliciosa, la atención fue perfecta
Quality Italian never disappoints! We love this place. The food, the cocktails and the service are top notch. One of the best steaks in NYC!!
We went to QI to celebrate my sons 25th birthday. I have been there several times over the last few years. Awesome food and location. The food does not disappoint. You can not go there without ordering the Chicken Parm pizza. Seating is very tight in spots. Service was not as attentive as one would expect at QI. Also very pricey! Be sure to kiss the pig. LOL
Bad experience... filet was rare when ordered as medium. We sent it back and they made it over cooked well done! Very disappointing!
Excelente servicio, atención, comida, súper recomendable
Food is always fantastic as is the service. So great for a special occasion, definitely came ready to spend some dough. Never disappoints. Love this place.
Never a miss, my wife and I had dinner at QI prior to a show and the food was delicious as always. Service was off the charts. Highly recommended.
Not impressed with the menu or the food when they came out. Wouldn’t go back.
Delicious food - nice upbeat atmosphere.
I had dinner here after new years and it was spectacular! The waiters were very attentive and the food was incredible! I had the spicy lobster rigatoni and it was delicious! The dry aged porterhouse agnolotti is also mind blowing! I tried some and I literally had to sit back. We were a table of 4 and everyone did not have one compliant about the food. The decor of the restaurant was also very nice; giving the place a nice, warm, and calming atmosphere. The food/drinks are a bit pricey but well worth it.
Excellent service and menu! All of the recommendations made from the waiters were fantastic which made our first experience at Quality Italian very special. Definitely recommend! 🌟
Visited on NYE. Service and food were excellent even though the place was packed. Looking forward to my next visit.
we loved the restaurant and look forward to coming back soon.
The wait staff was delightful. Most helpful. The food was superb. Very nice!
Best dinner in NY. Service was amazing.
Select Menu prices are not clear, deceptive and overpriced.
Great service. Enjoyed everything we ate especially the baked clams and Calabrian Filet special.
Great service, great food. One of the best Italian spots
Had a great pre-theater dinner. Service is outstanding, food is amazing, and I would absolutely go back again next time I’m in New York.
Food was pretty bad. My skirt steak was very chewy, the eggplant appetizer had no taste. Overall the size that made me wonder whether it was Italian or French. Tasteless foods. I won’t recommend to anyone.
Beautiful atmosphere and excellent service and food!
Dominic Kidwell - best floor manager anywhere!!! Outstanding service and amazing food! Restaurant is gorgeous. Attention to every detail is unmatched.
This is our second trip to QI. Both times the food was outstanding. Last night however, the service left a little to be desired compared with the prices on the menu. My water glass was never refilled. After I finished my first cocktail, I ordered a beer. I didn’t receive that beer until I was done with my meal. So no water, no cocktail, no beer for a big portion of my meal. That was disappointing.
Again the food was outstanding. The service, not so much.
I really do enjoy this place, been here several times for work. This time with my adult kids and girlfriends before the Nutcracker and while service was great and food very good. They have to change the wine list!!!!
There were maybe 2 wines under $110 a bottle that fit out cuisine. With 5 people that goes quickly. I asked a waiter for help and best red he could come up with was $94. Even restaurants with notable wines list can find affordable wines for a large table. Even wines snobs will agree after the 2nd glass the ability to discern level of quality is diminished, it's nice to have that special wine to start and be able to switch to a less expensive quality wine after that. 3 bottles, approximately $340 before tax really makes me very hesitant to return for a personal visit
