Quality Italian is a neo-classic Italian restaurant in Midtown melded with a steakhouse. We like it for the variety on the menu and the massive space.
Great for a business lunch as it is conveniently located in midtown. Delicious handmade and homemade pastas and rich dishes. beautiful fluffy skillet baked bread and creamy burrata.
The bread was great, and service started out very good but when we were finished it took a long time to find the waiter to pay the bill. I ordered the veal piccata pappardelle and, while tasty, there was really little to no veal in it at all (and I am not sure what the crunchy stuff was in there, which kind of made my teeth cringe) - otherwise I would have givem this place very high ratings. My business partner's salad looked great.
ROBERTO OUR WAITER WAS VERY GOOD - FRIENDLY, EFFICIENT AND VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE WINES AND SPECIALS.
My beet salad was lovely but my pasta dish was greasy and unappetizing. It had some braised pork in it but I thought it would be "lighter" than it was. I couldn't eat it. I was so excited for the dish because the pasta was supposed to be housemade - however, it was drenched in this oily sauce so I couldn't appreciate the chef's pasta creation. My son enjoyed his oysters and the sauces which accompanied them. So it was not a good value - overpriced for disappointing food. The servers were excellent though. My dish was GARGANELLI AMATRICIANA
The food (and drinks) were absolutely amazing! Highly recommend!
Very enjoyable dining experience. It is a busy restaurant so don't expect quiet intimacy but the food is prepared with care and attention and the wine list is outstanding, albeit pricey. Wait staff quite perceptive to diner's needs.
Crowded Saturday night with large groups throughout the restaurant yet food came out timely and perfect, wait staff could not have been busier or better. Will definitely return.
The Food was great just a little overpriced. It’s ceazy to pay $70 for a pizza. Would definitely go back but I’ll have to make sure it’s pay day 😃
Food was mediocre at best. Not sure why the hype. My lamb chops were flavored well but they were completely fatty
Lots of noise food ok but unhealthy and very greasy
Meals were good all the food was fine . I would have liked less season on the fillet .. but it was cooked correctly.
Over all nice place ..
Super noisy. Food fair at best. Crammed into a table.
Despite the Italian steakhouse theme, the menu has lots of lighter options for lunch. Our table of three enjoyed two entrée salads and a skirt steak plate. Atmosphere is nice at lunch, lots of light. Service was good, no complaints.
With the exception of the excessive noise level, the service and food were outstanding.
Ordered our appetizer and meal at the same time. Appetizer came out in less than 5 minutes, and then our main courses came out 1 minutes later. After we ate meals and dessert and bottle
Of wine, the host came up to our table and asked if we could leave the table because he needed it for other guests, and that he would buy us a drink at the bar, which we refused. For a full paying and ordering party of four that was rushed from the first moment we sat down and did not linger at all, the rushed service ruined any joy we might have found in the food.
I have been to Quality Italian many times. Service was quite poor. Took 50minutes to get entrees which for a business lunch is unacceptable.
“Excellent” doesn’t do it justice. If you’ve been to NYC and not eaten at Quality Italian, you haven’t really been to NYC!
Great food and service. The chicken parmesan pizza is so delicious. Don't let the word pizza throw you off and think it just another regular pizza. It's actually an entire pie made out of chicken. Excellent accompaniment which comes with a salad and honey.
Fantastic food and superb service!
Great atmosphere and food. Such an exceptional restaurant. Would recommend dining here.
In NYC, there are so many better steak options for the money. Bone-in ribeye not cooked properly. Service completely overwhelmed, not able to be attentive. Terrible value for the price. Go to Capital Grille, Sparks, Empire, Benjamin, or Bobby Van’s.
Atmosphere was vibrant. Food was outstanding. Incredible staff.
The food was one of the best Italian meals I have ever had! I am Italian so that says a lot! Would recommend this place for sure!!
Excellent would definitely go back
Food was excellent. A little pricey, but worth it.
It was lovely, if a bit loud. Will definitely be going back.
Excellent food, staff was very helpful. Great dinner!
It’s quite noisy and boisterous in the main dining room - so doesn’t lend itself to dates. Drinks and snacks at the bar would be better for something more intimate
Left completely disappointed. The parm pizza was average, then they have the audacity to charge $68 for it! Very deceptive by listing it as $34 PER PERSON. I spoke to the floor manager and they tried to justify it. Never coming back again.
The chicken parm was the absolute best I’ve ever had in my life....and I come from an Italian family. So please don’t tell my mother I said that!
It was okay - we were on the later side of lunch so perhaps the staff was winding down. The service was good. After experiencing quality meats across the street a few days later- it seems to be that less enthusiastic service is a theme. Our server was good but nothing to write home about. Truly beat the service at quality meets- I think both quality establishments have great potential but they are lacking in management and execution. Sad because they have great locations and ambiance. Shouldn't take any of that for granted by slacking on service. Food was very good at Quality Italian and certainly something that should be expected and Quality meats. Fell short a bit there!
Maybe best meal in nyc.
Didn’t appreciate waiting 45 minutes for the table after the booking time, and incredibly noisy.
That said, the food was good and an enjoyable experience overall.
Great time at QI with my family. One of my favorite restaurants in NYC. Never disappoints.
Awesome! Great steaks!
25th anniversary. thanks for the cannoli & limoncello!
Great great food. One of my favs now in nyc!
Overall great experience.
Service was great, food was average at best. We wanted to try the socially-hyped chicken parm pizza - save your money, it's not worth $68 ... it's chicken parm people! We had the baked scampi as an app and it arrived in a sizzling skillet, dry as a bone. The tiger shrimp were so dry they were stuck to the shell and there was not a drop of sauce to moisten it up. I always enjoy a Negroni cocktail at a good Italian restaurant and since this is described as being served from a nitro tap I had to give it a try. That was also average, definitely not a good value at $18. The table next to us ordered the steak and that looked and smelled delicious, making us further regret our menu selections. The s'mores dessert was the highlight of the whole meal, it was very good. We arrived with high hopes and expectations but left disappointed overall. It's NYC expensive but feels kind of gimmicky.
I told the restaurant when I made the reservation, called to confirm and checked in that we were 4 adults celebrating a 60th birthday. None the less, they seated us at a table hidden away in the back room two inches away from a large group of 8 adults and 10 LITTLE CHILDREN RANGING IN AGE FROM 1 - 6. Shame on them, if you want to have a kindergarten table in your restaurant, then you should only seat other families near it. Our request to move was met by eye rolling and put a taint on the entire night. Who needs this type of poor customer service in a city with thousands of restaurants? Will never go back.
