Quality Italian - New York
What Insiders Are Saying
Quality Italian is a neo-classic Italian restaurant in Midtown melded with a steakhouse. We like it for the variety on the menu and the massive space.
Great food and service. Very pleasant atmosphere.
We went for our anniversary and they started us off with a champagne toast and ended the night with a cannoli on the house. Food was excellent. Service was impeccable, didn’t miss a beat. Highly recommend
The Food Was Very Good
The Waiter Was Attentive
The Ambiance Was Great
Price Was Too Expensive Though
Awesome food, service, and the deserts where the best I’ve had in the city!!!!
Overall very over priced for the quality of the food
Some of the best prepared food you'll find in NYC. Service was great along with food recommendations. Pasta is home made, sauces spectacular and the Dover Sole special I had last time I didn't forget. Now, expect to pay for this kind of attentive cuisine but the experience will bring you back.
The ambiance was fantastic and the wait staff did a good job, but the food did not live up to the hype even though it was good meal.
Food, our server Michael was awesome and ambiance was great!
Pacing of dinner could be improved. The salad and food came out so quickly, we were out in 45 minutes. That pace doesn’t seem to sync with the atmosphere.
Amazing! The wine selection and the chicken parm pizza was delicious. If your looking to try a pizza with no crust, this is the place!
Great for a special event or group... definitely pay attention to the specials and waiter recommendations.
Put at a table in front of the exit. The music was too loud, unable to make a conversation and trouble communicating with waiters. Too dark, table had no light, it was placed at the exit door and there were no light , unable to read the menu. We were really bothered by the noise and not able to see what we ate
Had a fabulous meal. Thanks!
delicious and accommodating as always!! we love QI when we meet up with our kids for dinner.
I think the prices are at the top end of reasonable. We ordered a pasta as a side that never came. everything was tasty but nothing memorable. It really an expense account, go out with work kind of crowd and vibe.
Absolute amazing experience, food was perfect! I had a filet and it was cooked to perfection! The only thing was the noise level. It was very loud, which I wasn’t expecting. It definitely wouldn’t keep me from going back though, I’ll be back next time I’m in this city!
Food and service were fantastic. Noise level was unbearable.
I work near this restaurant and have been there many times. I have brought clients and interview candidates there. I have also dined there for non-professional dinners. I've always loved it. I had an unfortunate experience on Tuesday, however. I planned to meet a friend for lunch . She was bringing her young baby out with us, so when I made the reservation, I kindly asked if they could try to accommodate us by giving us a table with a bit of breathing room. Recognizing that this is a midtown steakhouse that can get crowded, I made the reservation for 2:00PM on Tuesday, figuring that is a slower time of day. At 1:00PM on Tuesday, I received a call indicating that they could not accommodate my request. They told me that strollers were not permitted in the restaurant upstairs. I asked if we could fold up the stroller and put it downstairs somewhere, and was told that we could sit at the hightops downstairs if we wanted. I said okay. We arrived at 2PM and sat at one of the hightops downstairs (which is not the easiest to sit in with a small infant). I will note that my friend's baby mostly slept and did not make a peep. The service we received from the bartender downstairswas not very good. He took our order and then ignored us for the next hour and and a half after it arrived. I had to flag him down to ask if we could order some more food and a couple more drinks. We ordered some more oysters, the corn creme brulee, and another rounds of drinks. The oysters and drinks came. The creme brulee never did. Finally after another 45 minutes or so, we were ready to go. It took me several minutes to flag him down again to get him to come over and give us our check. Overall, the food was great (as usual), but I was disappointed that the restaurant was unwilling to accommodate a young very well-behaved baby, especially during a slow time of day. And the service was not good. I hope my next visit to this restaurant delivers the great service they usually do.
Food and service was very good. They did make us wait 30 minutes for our table when we got there. What is the point of making reservations if the table isn’t going to be ready when it’s supposed to be?
pasta special was awful.
completely over priced.
i will never go back.
Excelled dining experience with impeccable service.
The meal was fantastic and the service was stellar.
They confirmed that it was a special occasion on the phone and then didn’t do anything that they said they would. Waitress was awful- took 40 minutes to get our wine. Food was delicious as usual.
food was extremely good. pricey tho but they have very affordable prices listed
Service was awesome! Lighting was too dark! Food overall was great
Exceptional service and ambiance. The waitress was absolutely delightful.
wonderful server, delicious food, just too loud for us to enjoy our company
LOVE everything about this QUALITY ITALIAN, especially the Truffle Pasta!
Amazing cocktails too.
Quality Italian is QUALITY top to bottom. Food, service, experience. It’s a must go!
Everything was amazing! The gorgonzola filet was to die for. I will definitely be again!
Overpriced for average Italian food. Branzino was supposed to be filleted; however there were many bones in it. Other food was mediocre.
Overall the place has gone downhill over time and there are far better options in the city.
We had an OUTSTANDING time tonight at Quality Italian. Being a native New Yorker, I am very well aware of restaurants where they pretend to be good and welcoming but offer inferior products and cold service. Let me say firstly that the entire staff couldn't have been nicer, from the coat check to the bartenders (shout out to Rose) to the hosts to our waiters. Fantastic and genuinely concerned about making sure everything was spot-on. Then to the food - of course we had the chicken parmigiana pizza "DiNic" version. DiNic's roast pork from Philly is our favorite sandwich in the world - I've driven to Philly just to have one more than once. With the chili-infused honey, it was wonderful. I will say it tasted more or sausage and provolone than chicken - not a bad thing BUT I think we'll go Margherita version next time. The arugula salad is a great foil for the filling pizza. We had coffee and split a wonderfully delicious homemade cannoli for dessert and for the price, we felt very very happy with our evening at Quality Italian - just a great date night out for us!
Wonderful meal. Loved the Chicken Parm!
Pricey but excellent food. One of the most delicious filet mignons I've ever enjoyed!
Service was outstanding and the food was beyond delicious ! Definitely would go back! Everything we ordered was perfect!
The service and food was fantastic.Even though my party was a few minutes late the host was very understanding and seated us anyway. The interior of the restaurant was chic and very well decorated the group loved the establishment and was very pleased with exceptional food and service. We All agree unanimously we would all return to Quality Italian.
Excellent meal. The chicken parm pizza was unique and fun to share with a group of 6 as an appetizer. My only complaint is the noise level was high. It was difficult to talk to anyone other than the people on either side of me.
Recommended for parties of 4 or less. Otherwise, it's simply too loud to carry on a group conversation (on a Saturday night, anyway).
Too loud, speaker right above our heads, everyone screaming to talk to one another. Food and waitress were excellent though
The server was great handling a couple of requests. The bone-in sirloin was fantastic and cooked to perfection! The corn brûlée should be illegal.
High end steak and Italian. Nice assortment of unique selections from appetizers through entree. Steaks very good. Nice for a special occasion or after theater.
